  1. I'm not counting on such a set to ever happen, just wistfully wishing, but I think it'd be pretty darn cool if Lego made a NINJAGO City like modular set of San Fransokyo, the main fictional metropolitan setting for Big Hero 6. As opposed to a stacked, Cyberpunk-eqsue design like Ninjago, this would be more like an actual skyline, much like this "forced perspective" MOC by L.G. Orlando, with a normal sidewalk and all. Perhaps Arendelle Castle would be a better choice for a Frozen themed D2C? That's a castle I'd much rather prefer over a big hunk of ice (and therefore possibly loads of translucent parts), and I'm sure most Castle fans for that matter would feel the same way. Ah. I guess you do make a good point.
  2. Kinda also like 1998's Adventurers, which may have been inspired after Universal Studios' upcoming film The Mummy which was released the following year. Sure, that's understandable, but at the same time, I don't think we'd ever see a standalone Space theme that lacked conflict like the original Classic Space line did. But I do think that such a line could find a home within the City theme, and there are Lego Space fans that still do wish for a more peaceful exploration theme currently.
  3. Well, you mention City's Volcano subtheme, how about a City space subtheme that veers more towards Sci-Fi to a certain degree? I do think Lego could pull off a lunar outpost line for City with space shuttles and payload rockets that closely resemble Classic Space sets of yesteryear, color scheme and all, without seeming too uncharacteristic for the realism of the theme.
  4. Recolors from these sort of sets are always a great thing, but particularly, I kinda wish the actual Hogwarts Express had wheels that matched its Dark Red livery, insuring such a set wouldn't just be giving us black train wheels again.
  5. Disney's Big Hero 6 (2014), Wreck-It Ralph (2012), and Moana (2016).
  6. Well, I think not, as I think that's a lovely set of row houses! Great color choices too! Hmm, have you ever seen any similar information on the first Crafting Box?
  7. Sure, that Creator set is not at all Sci-Fi, more resembling NASA if anything; but it is a start, as Creator had never ventured into space before that set. So, you can imagine just where that might lead in the near future for the theme.
  8. If anything, I think a half priced modular would make more consumers aware of the line, catching the attention of those who only shop for sets at a typical retail store. But that's only if Lego were to release such a set to all retailers, instead of just keeping it a brand store exclusive like the larger sets.
  9. So, has the old woman's Robin hairpiece been recolored in grey/white? What predominant colors were her outfit?
  10. What I really like about that creation of yours is how it's a seeming blend of the Bat-Pod from Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy and Tron Legacy's Lightcycles. Also, opting for colorless transparent elements give a more realistic, daytime look, which I really appreciate. I also like this retro-esque hovercar of yours too: That's some seriously cool architectural eye candy right there! I also liked these three complementary vehicles done by @adde51for his layout:
  11. And, unlike the last three incarnations, it would most likely be constructed out of Dark Red as opposed to Bright Red!
  12. Well, much like Disney, Lego could introduce their own take on these literary figures, setting them within a roughly inspired storyline and modifying some of the particular character's attributes to make them more appealing to Lego's core audience. But if that means Ninjago-ing the whole thing, then forget about it. But like everything, once tried and failed doesn't at all prove that the whole concept in essence will never work, as it would take at least one other attempt with a different angle of execution to prove whether or not that may be true. Well, thanks for summing that movie up, as I've always been intrigued with the film's concept, but have put off watching it due to it's poor Rotten Tomatoes score. But seriously, do you really think that concept is still very much tainted by that movie even fourteen years later? Is it still that prevalent in the public consciousness? Simple. Still give the heroes voyages to locations like Peru or the Amazonian jungle, but have them defend its native populations from the schemes and conquests of evil lords/barons or supernatural entities. Think of storyline plots like as seen in James Cameron's Avatar or Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
  13. That's a pretty fun idea, but it sounds too simplistically archetypical to be done as an entire action theme. But I could see it done kind of as a one-off Creator/Ideas-type set, something like a single flying saucer, with a grey alien, a cow, and two Mulder and Scully like paranormal investigators.
  14. Incredible indeed, that's a great assortment you've highlighted there!
  15. These "forced perspective" modulars by L.G. Orlando are a pretty cool concept. Same here too for the most part, but of course, I do particularly dig the Art Deco Streamlined Moderne style of the 1930's and 40's. The cafe in particular that you highlighted sort of more veers toward contemporary architecture; but, like @Bricked1980 had said, the interior and lighting really make it for me.
  16. Another alien invasion theme certainly would be interesting to see, but it'd be cool if this time around it more resembled Independence Day, with sinister looking aliens and futuristic fighter jet defence craft to engage in low atmospheric dogfights. But, in retrospect, I guess the approach Lego did take with the subject of extraterrestrial conquest was probably the best decision for them, as keeping it focused exclusively on abduction kept the theme from pondering or suggesting the concepts of annihilation and/or genocide.
  17. You know, although I've already given my two cents on this series as a whole and of each figure, I find @just2good's opinion on both counts pretty spot on in terms of my own.
  18. Oooh, I remember that one. It was also an Ideas project that didn't quite make it to the top, running out of time at about 6700+ supporters. I mean, that Earth Green roof... LEGO Ideas - Hearthstone Bakery A modern modular eh? That's rather cool looking, kinda now wondering how Lego would pull off their own if they ever wanted to head that direction architecturally.
  19. Bluebird: Gen 2 by LegoGallifrey Dart and Peregrin by Karl Oohlu The Vampire Hunters by @castor-troy Light Steam Landship Mk. LXIII and Jormungandr-Class Double-Boiler Locomotive by Beau Donnan Ah, that's novel concept there! A modular inspired after the retrofuturistic aspirations of the 1950's and 60's!
  20. And after doing a Amsterdam row house, perhaps the next half-width modular could then take after the row houses of San Francisco, California.
  21. I think it could work, as it would also serve as a conversation starter for retrospective discussions on each series with their high and low points. Plus, it may more effectively show which genre may be the most popular amongst CMSs, given how frequently a certain genre may or may not win in the total course of the game.
  22. Like the Pet Shop? Pretty much, with a sixteen stud width and three stories, but retaining the same level of Expert level detailing (and still keeping that label as a result) just at half the price since it's only half a modular. It could be done as a three-in-one, but it's not necessary, yet its price range should be able to give it some shelf room at most retailers. I also should mention, a half-width modular really needs to be fittingly inspired/modeled after the canal row houses of Amsterdam, given how proportionally perfect they would be for that type of set. Heck, make the first one of these sets a bike shop, given how bicycles are such a big thing over there.
