  1. Well the Instagram guy who I found both Dash and Jack Jack from hasn't have her, nor does the guy on Flickr.
  2. I don't know why Lego themselves haven't tackled sixteen wide modulars yet, as their size would make them marketable as a non-D2C, retail wide release with a US $70-$90 price range.
  3. Wow. Dual molded legs AND arms for almost everyone so far! At this point, I could presume that Violet will don the same. As for Jack Jack, he's passable, but his grin is a bit goofy.
  4. I was just sharing an idea on this topic for action/adventure themes who's main characters would be of well known, public domain mythological/literary characters, such as Sherlock Holmes, Zorro, King Arthur, Hercules, Captain Nemo, Van Helsing, and so on. How would you feel about such an idea, and do you think there would be kids who would be interested in such themes if their characters aren't completely original, even if the theme's storyline was? I know, as both you and I have brought up that revelation of Mark's on this topic before; but, we still can lament and dream of such a line, as it would be filled to the brim with such infinite possibilities. Well, one or two sets would be all I'd expect from Technic, and good enough if they'd only try it. Somewhat like I had proposed above, maybe a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen-like approach could be the way to go with such a revisitation, with literary characters like Van Helsing, Sherlock Holmes, Tarzan (a.k.a. Lord Greystroke), Captain Nemo, and such filling the heroes ranks as opposed to original characters.
  5. Or, if not a conglomerate multitheme, perhaps at least a theme focused upon a single literary property. For instance, a playtheme who's main characters would be King Arthur and his Round Table Knights, with adventures and storylines at least lightly inspired after their various legends and fables associated with them. I know previous story driven Castle themes have probably touched upon Arthurian legends for inspiration before, but this would be a theme that would explicitly use the named characters.
  6. I actually think it's just plain old Bright Orange.
  7. How about a historically set action/adventure multitheme, with characters based upon well known, public domain mythological/literary figures such as, say... Sinbad of the Seven Seas, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, Hercules, Zorro, Van Helsing, Sherlock Holmes, Captain Nemo... You get the idea.
  8. Searching around Brickshelf, I found this one Art Deco skyscraper who's shape I really like: Art Deco Skyscaper by srezkall Also on Brickshelf, I found a fuller gallery of this modular, but I'm not sure if you've seen it for yourself too. Casa Baron by Brickbaron Oh yes, totally Art Nouveau that blue one, and the best looking building on the street! Thanks for highlighting that project, as I haven't seen that one before myself!
  9. Yes, I know, that's true for the most part. But there have been a few projects that have gained some significant headway, including this one: * Steampunk Battleship by A. Graham LEGO Design But I should mention, the Steampunk genre has not tested well as a playtheme according to @Nabii (a.k.a. Lego designer Mark Stafford) in this post of his. * P.S. You'll get a lot more results on Ideas for the genre if you search "Steampunk" instead of "steam Punk".
  10. Yep, those are the guys we've seen around for a little while now from multiple leak sources, only that Sam Flynn isn't present in that picture particularly. Ditto, as they're not necessarily figures from a set that has been put out for sale prematurely. Really?
  11. Nautilus-styled submarines, Zeppelin-like airships, steam powered drillpods, clankering mecha, motorized penny-farthings, brass polished rocketcraft... Indeed, as they certainly would be the most elegantly colored brick packs you've ever seen! As you must know, many fans mutter about the lack of more mature colored part packs, so a Steampunk themed one would supply you with much Reddish Brown, Dark Brown, Pearl Gold, Copper Metallic, Earth Blue, Earth Green, Dark Red, Dark Purple... Sure, but Technic too would be great, as it would supply many builders with gears and other technical parts in metallic recolors. Just think of all the Pearl Gold and Copper Metallic gear recolors in so many different shapes and sizes!
  12. Has anyone here ever suggested the idea of Steampunk themed sets for Technic? If you think about it, the genre's inventive, tinkering thematic concepts kind of are a perfect fit for the theme.
  13. Even better, a complete Steampunk reimagining of the Adventurers theme, with a new horizon to explore every year, from the depths of the ocean to bowels of the earth towards the moon and back! In other words, an all-out Jules Verne inspired action/adventure theme! Certainly, as the inventive, tinkering elements of the Steampunk genre are an absolutely perfect fit for a multi-build type theme such as Creator! Just think of all the possibilities for themed Inventor's part packs and contraption-type sets! Come to think of it, regarding that last suggestion, perhaps the Steampunk genre would find a home within the Technic theme too!
  14. I'd totally be up for a Space Pirates theme myself too, just as long as it doesn't turn out like this. If anything, I believe we'll see a return to underground action themes like Power Miners before a new underwater one, as Power Miners debuted a year before the last Aquazone theme, Atlantis, did. I do miss the smaller scale action/adventure lines, as the last one we ever saw debut was 2014's Ultra Agents. Unless we see the Ninjago theme take a shot at this genre for a wave, this is a possibility I really want to see happen, and the prevalence of the genre in many currently relevant cinematic franchises (like the ones you just mentioned) just might push Lego towards that direction.
  15. I had an idea a little while ago for a theme of playsets that would be a tie-in for an original, freestyle multiplayer Lego videogame. I described it in depth on this topic back then, and here's how I put it:
  16. 1950's Breakdown Truck by redfern1950s_5323 Medieval Inn by DominikQN Arctic Exploration Vehicle by redera00 Egyptian Muesum by italovergnat Modular Great Greenhouse by italovergnat
  17. Huh, I wasn't even thinking of Thunderbirds at the time when I proposed that idea; but yeah, I do suppose that could be a source of inspiration for such an action theme. Though it wasn't Sci-fi in any way, probably the closest Lego has ever gotten to such an action theme was with Town's 1998 subtheme Res-Q. I'll always remember this one Steampunk themed Ideas project that existed way back when the site was still CUUSOO. Although for some reason I can't find the project anywhere on Ideas currently, The Adventures of Steamrod was a really impressive concept for a Steampunk theme, which was a sort of Retrofuturistic Victoriana reimagining of Lego's Adventurers line. It had both a really impressive Locomotive and a steam powered fighter plane! But you know, since we were on the discussions of both Steampunk and Aquazone, a fusion of those two is the next direction I really want to see the next submarine action theme take! Imagine something in the vein of both Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire!
  18. Well that certainly would be the most obvious next choice, as Classic Castle seems to have a larger fanbase compared to Classic Pirates. Now personally, I'd hope to see an Adventurers themed contest in the near future.
  19. Sure, but I still think that an action theme with a faceless adversary could work, as it would be just like City's 2016 Volcano Exploration subtheme, only with the volcano as a threat and the crew equipped with more Sci-Fi heavy submersible craft. I earlier proposed another action theme on this topic with a faceless antagonist, centered around a search and rescue squad which conduct international post-catastrophe missions, kinda like Fisher Price's old Rescue Heroes line. In other words, these action themes would just be more "extreme" reimaginings of City subthemes in a way. Well a Steampunk theme would just have to have a train set!
  20. Here's a new teaser poster released ahead of a First Look at The Incredibles 2 coming Wednesday.
  21. Another idea for an underground fusion theme could be for a mesh of Aquazone-type themes and Power Miners/Rock Raiders. Essentially, it would be an action/adventure theme focused upon a submersible mining crew, perhaps in a race against time to defuse a burgeoning supervolcano which threatens to bring about a global environmental catastrophe. The cool thing about such a theme is that its antagonist would be the volcano itself, as opposed to minifigure baddies/sea monsters. But, would such an action theme be successful if it did lack those minifigure adversaries? You know, come to think of it, Lego has had its share of many "darker" themes; for instance, Bionicle and Monster Fighters come to mind. But, do I want to see more themes of that nature? At least the latter example balanced that tone out with a paralleling "silly" tone, which is probably how I'd prefer Lego handle such themes. Bionicle on the other hand, just felt too uncharacteristic for the brand, at least for its first incarnation that ran from 2001 to 2010.
  22. LIFTOFF! by Diego Baca Classic Space Microscale Base by CARLIERTI Flying SpaceShip by Brickproject_7540 Bluetron by MinfigInSpace Lego Delivery Spaceship by rpbMiniFig _____________________ Hey, for those who visit and frequent this topic, I just want to know if you would like to see another Classic themed Ideas contest after this one in the near future? If so, what sort of theme should be the subject of the next one?
  23. Well, Playmobil though didn't resort to that for their own How to Train Your Dragon line, and I certainly hope Lego does the same, eyes, body type, and all.
  24. Nothing better than a good old grebbley Exo-Suit, and certainly a great choice for theme, as Life on Mars is certainly underrepresented! Not since then have we seen a Space theme with friendly/protagonistic extraterrestrials.
