  1. LEGO Ideas - LEGO Moments in Space - Winners
  2. Indeed! These are different sort of microfig, ones seen with CMFs like the S2 Karate Master and included in sets such as the 2015 UCS Helicarrier and last year's LEGO Ideas Apollo 11.
  3. That looks pretty darn good! The fifth generation Chevy Camaro is one of my favorite cars!
  4. Are you still considering creating a public Flickr account for your work? Also, what about a YouTube design tutorial?
  5. Man, that Classic Micro-Spaceman is going to be a great complement to any microscale Classic Spacecraft creation from here on until then.
  6. Here are a few more DC Comics favorites of mine, particularly focused on Batman: The Silent Guardian by Bruce Lowell Batman vs Joker Gotham Theater Showdown by Paul Herrington Vintage Batcave by Martin Guzicki
  7. Just as a heads up for you all, Lego will be announcing the winners of the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space gift-with-purchase contest tomorrow! In other news, this will be definitely of interest to fans of Classic Space.
  8. This is more pertaining to the Minifigure's 40th anniversary instead of the System's 60th, but hey...
  9. It comes with a blue Classic Spaceman microfigure!
  10. Or more broadly, the accumulative collective known as Town, which arguably City, the Creator Expert Modular series, and the Winter Village line are all a part of. And yes, those latter two do seemingly have a 1940's American style to them.
  11. I love the genre conceptually, but there are just not many fan creations built within it that I'm fond of. Like you said, many are built predominantly in only Brown and Gold, and they'll be awfully skeletal in their design with a heavy focus on exposed gears and mechanisms. Therefore, that's why I usually take more of a likening towards the more fleshed out, streamlined aesthetics of the Dieselpunk/Decopunk genre. Now, which type of Steampunk creations do I like? Something like this mecha of Moko's, with its stockier build and presence of Earth Green to compliment those brown and metallic colors. I don't know if Raypunk evokes the 1980's exactly. It's more of a genre that takes after the pulp magazine/comic strip science fiction of the 1920's to 1940's, the kind of universe my CMF avatar would inhabit for instance. Here's a good article which defines the aesthetics of the genre and compares it to other "Punks". What is Raypunk?
  12. Here are a few DC Comics themed creations that are favorites of mine: Injustice: Gods Among Us Batmobile V2, Batman v Superman Batmobile Black, 1989 Batman Batmobile, and The Tumbler by @TheBrickBuilder14 Arkham Asylum and Superman & Young Justice vs. Brainiac by @Xenomurphy Javelin 7 by Eric DRUON
  13. Well, Star Wars is a theme that there's a whole other subforum here devoted to, so you should discuss it over there instead. Also, please highlight specific creations, as opposed to simply saying which theme/franchise you like fan creations based upon.
  14. What are your favorite fan creations based upon licensed properties that Lego has/had produced sets for? Whether it be DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Doctor Who, Disney, Harry Potter, Nickelodeon, Voltron, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Cartoon Network, or any other franchise, share and discuss your favorite creations from some of your favorite AFOL builders you've found from around the web! Please, no promotion of your own creations, and please keep your selection limited to franchises/licenses Lego has, or already had, merchandise partnerships with.
  15. Unless we see some significant interest peak for trains from Lego's general audience, I wouldn't expect any fuller train subtheme from City any time soon. But, a broadening of the theme's timeframe beyond the present day could at least assure us some steam locomotives, as I personally don't care really about most diesel/electric locomotives myself.
  16. Here's the press release:
  17. The last time I guess I ever built anything was back in 2014, and while there were many creations that were eventually disassembled, some are still constructed but stored away. Architecturally speaking, one of my biggest creations was of a Wayne Manor/Batcave, which I remember being quite impressed with despite its Ziggurat-esque shape and primary color scheme. That I did take pictures of before its disassembly, but I have to dig through some old hard drives to find them. Other creations I still have assembled, but never taken pictures of, include a partially constructed Sky-Fi warplane, a six seater spacecraft inspired after the Javelin-7, a Neo-Blacktron starfighter, and two little Steampunk automobiles.
  18. Just as a heads-up for those reading/following this topic, Lego will be announcing the winner of the LEGO Ideas Moments in Space gift-with-purchase contest tomorrow, so stay tuned until then! I've always thought that a revival of the Studios themes would be best suited as a subtheme of City, with plenty of sets based upon camera rig cars, green screen shoots, car chase shoots, miniature props, etc. Studios could also work well as a subtheme of Friends, but I'd imagine that a lot of its playsets would be of make-up/dressing room layouts.

  21. Being the most interesting part of the construction for these sets, I'm rather interested to see how they'll pull off both Anna and Elsa's hair.
  22. Ha, it is rather funny! But, at the same time, I don't think it's necessarily that bad considering.
  23. But, I thought Batson had his suit supernaturally gifted to him by Shazam. Billy didn't make it himself did he?
