Amazing building Wooootles! One of the few around doing big modern skyscrapers and this one is especially realistic, beautiful and imposing. I love big dark high-rises. Also that palm tree is perfection, the dead leaves will soon fall down and litter the streets when it gets windy . Your modern architecture is always a pleasure to see! Great MOC.

Lego Minifigure Factory Promo Set
koalayummies replied to Falconfan1414's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So was I but so far I've kept the box and it's all still assembled inside. It folds back up with a sort of cereal-box style lid closing flap so it can be closed up and stowed away without popping open. -
MOC: Le Fleuron, 1729 third rate French ship of the line.

Absolutely amazing. I like the tying of the ratlines/shrouds to the ship. Amazing ship top to bottom, bow to stern.- 53 replies

Supported that frigate! I know many now prefer complex brick-built hulls but that is a very nice blending between the old style Lego ship construction with new parts and techniques.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Of the two anti-studs under the mouse the one near the mouse's butt can only hold well if its facing somewhat forward in the minifigure's hand. As you spin the mouse in the figure's hand it doesn't grab once it goes to 90 degrees from the hand opening due to the lack of full stud coverage and opening of the hand. The front stud holds a bit better. Also CMF/CMS tend to have slightly varying tolerances compared to regular set figures (like with the frequent talk of looser arms, legs and head-accessory fitment for example) and the hands also seem a bit tighter in that they're just a hair larger than other figures. I tried putting the mouse on a non-CMF hand (Women of Nasa Margaret Hamilton) and it fit without effort, immediate fitment but attaching the mouse to the elephant girl's hand is more challenging. Getting the fossil piece onto the Series 13 Paleontologist's hand was just as difficult. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
koalayummies replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I prefer extremely detailed interiors and extremely detailed exteriors. What's the point of having a cake if you can't eat it too? There is an erroneous perception that there has been a gradual exchange of exterior detail or overall size for more interior detail. I don't see that as the case; exterior detail has remained fairly consistent with an increase in interior detail, complexity of building techniques and fairly steadily increase in pieces as the series has progressed. Building sizes vary and architectural styles differ in terms of embellishment and accoutrements. The buildings are based off of real life architectural styles so naturally the complexity of the exteriors is going to vary. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion

Lol, its short and sweet. For those who don't have a Lego store nearby it appears Brickseek's accuracy has gone down the toilet and can no longer be trusted. One of my Walmart stores listed as not having any in stock on brickseek's busted site got a whole box and it was out on shelves in the Lego aisle. The UPC on brickseek is accurate so something isn't working as intended. Also asking a very nice employee at the store to look up the item returned errors, they said it was weird as they couldn't check stock on other stores for this particular item as well and showed none in stock at their own location or online (but its in their system) despite them being on the shelf! So if you're still looking for these I suggest making a visit as this inventory checker is broken and Walmart's own system is having issues with this item. -
Lego Minifigure Factory Promo Set

Yeah sort of. So the assembly line can slide back and forth. There are Technic pins that go through a slot on the back 'wall' of the cardboard and allow you to attach another piece of cardboard (with all the microfigures' minifigure representations printed on it) so you slide the assembly line in either direction so that whatever microfigure being 'painted' is front and center on the display and also shown on the 'screen' on the back wall. Pretty clever. So from that picture if you slide it to the left the pirate is center in the display and also shows up on the wall. Slide it to the right and Pixal would be center and shown on the screen. -

Its a pretty great giveaway. The Lego worker is awesome. A figure of the people that make what we love! The build itself is also pretty cool once you fully assemble it because its not really clear what the cardboard is doing until its all together and it has a bunch of useful parts. The printed microfigures are just icing on an already awesome donut-cinnamon-roll-cheesburger-pizza cake. The paintbrush has green paint on the 'bristles' part. So its painting none of the microfigures -
Really great results with those constraints. That is impressive. Great use of the interior space as well and I always love rooftop gardens. Lovely first MOC! I also like your use of the City-style official-looking background image.

You make me blush @LegoModularFan . To even be mentioned among all these amazing builders is too much of an honor. Thank you. I don't know how you do it. I look through all of these and my mind goes Lego wild because I want to build them all. Probably the greatest single collection of modular city inspiration anywhere.

Lego Minifigure Factory Promo Set
koalayummies replied to Falconfan1414's topic in Special LEGO Themes
A Night at the Factory All the figures have come to life... and they're all hostile!!!! Not again!!! Hate the night shift! Why'd we build this place on a minifigure graveyard? The grey plate that the factory line is built on is stuck to the cardboard box/happy-meal style layout. Haven't yet tried to pull it free. Made for some tight building space. -
That's Emmet's car from the Lego Movie along with a bunch of CMFs. The car was in two different official sets (Toys R Us exclusive and Double-Decker Couch).

Edit: found them all. First series ever getting all of the figures so here's a mini-review. Going for shortest CMF review. Series 18 CMF/CMS review: Everything is awesome except the figure with one per box. That figure is the worst in the Minifigure Series ever. Every other figure is most excellent. /review. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yep just came back from one. That store got two boxes in yesterday and put them out right away. They said one woman was looking through them for an hour and was after the police figure (quick check ebay for $50+ minifigures ). There were six figures left when I arrived. Out of curiosity I had them scan and check the stock and there were supposed to be thirteen left so they figured someone must have walked off with seven as the box never left the customer service counter. Got (1 each): elephant, flower, dragon, unicorn, red brick, blue brick. This is hands down the easiest series to feel for. I think it would take less than 10 minutes for a whole box. Elephant mask, mouse, dragon and unicorn tails are all dual-molded and the tails are rubbery/flexible . The elephant skirt fits a lot better than other versions of the ballerina piece I've had. All in all very awesome figures. They also got a brand new box of the first Batman Movie series. -

You can check that brickseek website, if it shows your wally world store having them in stock on April 1 then you shouldn't worry about a wasted trip. Its been accurate for me and if they're not out on the shelf take the SKU and UPC from that brickseek thing and ask an employee about the item. -

Loved this when you first posted it but now that toys r us is going under this is even more special. There won't be any large toy-exclusive stores for kids to run around with excitement like this. And those three Geoffrey the giraffes will likely become collectors items. Great work Carebear, you always create excellent, happy and colorful builds.

Very pretty. You've made great use of all the very colorful foliage pieces as coral. I especially like the schools of fish swimming together. Lovely MOC!
