Hands down one of the greatest posts of all time. Many many thanks for all that fantastic work! So many MOCs will benefit from having uniquely-hairdo'd characters.

Amazing build and awesome collaboration. I do miss those big displays they used to make showing everything together in the ads that came with sets and in catalogs. This is very reminiscent of those large collections. Very realistic and believable, model train like detail. Fantastic work both of you! Its been a while since I've seen that acronym and you both made BURPs look great in this scene.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18 Rumors and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Those brick costumes are a lot creepier than the minifigure ones. Its almost as creepy as the Mcdonalds Happy Meal mascot. -
Another fantastic and massive scale MOC. Your builds are all very impressive. Its unfortunate that digital builds don't get as much attention because in many ways they pose a lot of unique and hidden challenges. Like for example this would probably crash on my computer. Truly amazing work!

Inflation and more significantly increases in detail and quality; newer, more and better quality prints, dual molding, brand new molds/parts... Series 1 didn't even have back printing.

This is one of the most impressive and cool sets in a very long time. Can't see myself getting it but if I was a kid my mind would be blown and as an adult looking at it Lego has made one of the most fun looking and very cool functional play sets in quite some time.

REVIEW: 71021 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18
koalayummies replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
They should put equal numbers of the figures in each box thus eliminating the false rarity and manufactured desirability. There is always someone who wants something different as is evidenced by Itaria's CMF polls. Many of us had widely different preferences but there was usually at least one figure for everyone in each series which was often different from what others wanted. There will always be figures from a series that are more desirable to the majority but in the series that have fairly equal distribution of characters the problem of profiteers scooping them up isn't nearly as bad as it is with the series that have only 1 or 2 of certain figures per box. I've never had a problem of finding figures from the majority of series that have near equal distribution, its only the series that have figures with lesser than average quantities. -
Do you dream of new LEGO parts?
koalayummies replied to ZoulBrick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
There's a long-running thread with part design proposals like this and discussion. You should share those here as they'll probably get more feedback as this discussion has been going for about 8 years: -
Beautiful building Bricked1980! You've built the level of wonderful detail often referred to as ' too much to comment on everything' which is most excellent. One of the most detailed and realistic bar areas, creative parts usage (the brown carrots for bar taps), lots of brick-built objects and a very enjoyable attention to the characters. The color choices are also fantastic, its a real looker! Amazing work.

Jurassic World 2018 - Rumors and Discussion
koalayummies replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
We're talking about this Jurassic Park 3 right? There's no other version right? Maybe they could just put a [newer] spino-dino in another set and like not remind us of that film. Ever again. Didn't they do that already?- 1,290 replies

This is good news as that was a disappointing aspect of Unikitty and I'm always interested to see what new things can be done with new pieces.

Finally this thread has naked minifigures That camera shop is genius top to bottom. Mind blown.

Yeah. I was referring to earlier discussions about how hilarious it would be if Richard were in the CMF bags: Still makes me laugh. Its from this early thread on the Unikitty subject that was for some reason title-edited: Edit: aren't the minifigure swap days only for kids as well (there's a lot of fine print on those calendars)? If you go around release day there will surely be fans huddled around the CMF boxes; you could purchase a few then cut them open and possibly swap with others there on the spot.

Excellent creations so far, those two are beautiful and exquisite! I decided to make a Brickheadz version of what is without question or debate the second most widely beloved Collectable Minifigure of all time (ok a bit of sarcasm there with that description ):

Well the Dog building along with all of Cloud Cuckoo Land was destroyed in TLM, its also a different license. We still have hope of Unikitty CMF 2 having a grey 1x3 brick with a face on it. That would be so amazing. The neck connections look different as well, they don't look like 1x1 round plates like all the other original Unikittys had.

Aww bummer. Apologies, I'll edit out the link now to avoid further disappointment.

Unikitty is one of the greatest things ever. So 'military camouflage' Unikitty is from Sparkle Matter Matters when Unikitty and Dr. Fox spotter/sniper slingshot Richard with the synthetic sparkle matters serum to try and make him be happy. They're dressed like that for about 10 seconds and the sniper shot was more like a gigantic mortar. After that things get crazy and eventually Unikitty learns a lesson about letting people be happy in their own ways. Skip to 5:10 for surveillance and target acquisition Unikitty, the camouflage is little hearts: Edit: video not available in all countries.

Amazing detail at such small scale and brilliant parts usage. You never cease to amaze, beautiful build!

REVIEW: 71021 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18

Yeah the firework guy is not very strong especially next to the previous series retro-rocket boy. That was one numbered series ago so that comparison is unavoidable. Also the firework guy's crotch is exploding. Excellent comparison, that is awesome. Who doesn't like stickers? All Lego fans love stickers. I've always thought about that but never wanted to bring up that subject. I always keep isopropyl alcohol swabs in my car for gross encounters but that's still a gross thought especially considering some adults have contagions... other than flu and strep. On that subject just the other day I gave my neighbors kid a Batman CMF1 figure (TRU still getting new boxes) and he thanked me by blowing the large snot blob (as in mucus not the building technique) off of his finger and onto my shoe. -

REVIEW: 71021 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18
koalayummies replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It seems mostly aimed at costume-figure lovers regardless of age or maturity. Costumed figures are reportedly among the most popular figures in each series and even if S18 is aimed at kids then they hit the target demographic of Lego. Pretty confident we'll get a 'regular' series again so the sky isn't falling. Personally don't mind seeing uninteresting series as its a nice break from driving around, looking foolish feeling blind bags and spending on non-buildable Lego. Simpsons/Simpsons2/Disney/Batman/Batman2 were all welcomed breaks with no complaints; MOC time. -
REVIEW: 71021 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 18
koalayummies replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What? Anyone can share their opinion whether they have it or not. Its a bland boring outdated figure which was marginalized from the beginning with the unwise decision of only including one per box deliberately fabricating scarcity and allegedly leading to some sort of incident that resulted in a directive about shuffling the box contents before placing them out on specific store sales floors. It has a historic significance, sure, but it has been damaged by the resultant intentionally induced frenzy around it and that history is now tarnished and will be remembered by at least some fans as something akin to Diet Mr. Gold. Its also of extremely limited use as basically a trophy figure; it doesn't fit in Town or any other theme due to its extremely simple, homely, basic, obsolete and passe aesthetics and parts and will likely be mostly relegated to those picture-frame-style display boxes where it will hang on AFOL walls doing nothing except promoting celibacy. Awesome. -

So after the furry fest clears out the cops get together and throw their own party. Someone is looking sorta old. Sorta real old.
