  1. Could also check Walmart and Target periodically. They frequently get polybags that were previously Lego S&H/store promotions. Sometimes its a few months afterwards but I've seen a lot of the old promotion polybags in the wire bins and end caps at these two stores.
  2. They look like rather normal buildings but to the few residents who know; namely a few city officials, police and journalists; this section of the city is colloquially referred to as 'the arsenal block'. The original owner of the grey and sand building put it up for sale and was approached just a few hours later by a man in a black suit with a briefcase full of his asking price in cash. Tax filings with the city indicate its owned by a ‘Bricktropolis United’ which some have suspected is just a shell company for a defense contractor or security or intelligence agency. There are a number of people always coming and going, numerous deliveries and shipments in both regular carriers and unmarked cargo vans. Yet there's nothing the residents have to complain about, yet. The brown and tan building is owned by a historian. Although he’s trying to retire he still teaches a course or two every semester at the local community college. He's a bit of a recluse and a major collector of historic weaponry, so much so that his place is a veritable crash course on ye olde melee and ranged armaments. Its quite a coincidence that a man who teaches about the rise and fall of nations, violations of sovereignty and the subverting of the political process throughout the ages lives right next door to a group who may well be doing those very same things right now. Minifigures: Commander, Field Agent, Armorer/Gunsmith, Pilot/Mechanic/Driver, Explosives Ordinance Expert: Flower Cart Guy (Jacob the horticulturalist), Matthew the historian: Since it is the most visible to the street and there is always a large volume of resources coming and going the first floor is used mostly as shipping and receiving. It also houses the building's bathroom behind the stairwell. Measures have also been taken to secure the building with hardened steel gates behind the front and rear doors. The second floor is the heart of the clandestine operation's information warfare campaign, psychological operations and propaganda machine. Using commercial sized copy/printers, shredders and high-end computers they can whitewash incidents, conduct and spread disinformation and sway 'hearts and minds'. It's also where they funnel cash through various other dummy, shell and front corporations for various operations elsewhere. The third floor is the planning room and houses the more basic staple espionage equipment. Since the building also serves as a safe house there are bunk beds and some food so agents can stay for extended periods without leaving. The top floor was chosen for the armory so that should anything go sideways they don't all go down with the building. Here the gunsmith assembles untraceable 'ghost guns' and manufactures suppressors for various 'kinetic operations'. The explosives expert works alongside the gunsmith to make an assortment of remote detonation devices and other contraptions to eliminate targets from a relatively safe distance. The first floor of the historian's building is about the only thing normal about his living environment. A small bathroom behind the stairs, kitchenette and dining table with seating for one The second floor is where his collection begins. He even has a full suit of armor dressed on a mannequin that occasionally provides a good scare for late night trips downstairs for water or the bathroom. Third floor is yet more historic armaments. As he has no kids though he has stipulated in his will that his collection be distributed to the regional museums when the time comes that he takes his place in what is his lifelong passion. He prefers to sleep in the attic often enjoying a glass of milk and a cookie before bed. This was much better written before I accidentally closed the window and had to rewrite and link everything. Hope it was enjoyable nonetheless. Build notes: a bit of a change in method as it was 'free build' without digital building and also opting to use parts on hand which meant the destruction of Pet Shop's brownstone and Brick Bank's laundromat mod. Also decided to take some pictures along the way. You can be both organized and messy at the same time. Barely laying a foundation. T-rex standing by to demolish Pet Shop. Fire Marshall came by in his hilarious new golf cart and said: "this is unacceptable, I was told I would be inspecting A building, not THE building" Before deciding on 4-stories: Almost there!
  3. Yes. But jokingly of course. I can't stress that part enough!
  4. The absurdly decorated and excessive-lighting-equipped school bus. And although the NC set has Misako/Lloyd's apartment it is a complete disservice to the beautiful build seen in the movie (for the 36 people who actually saw the film ). The school itself, noodle shop, newsroom and monorail per other suggestions would also be really cool.
  5. ! A weapon to surpass metal gea... oh wait this is Star Wars Nice little build and very entertaining GIF. Its fun to make hydraulic noises to it; psssh pfft psssh pffft.
  6. What's the explanation behind this molding error? Are other colored pellets left behind in the mold's feed lines and the first few that come out of the mold when switching colors are the wrong color and then subsequently buried in the bins under those that are the correct color?
  7. Hilarious and very fun. Crabs wearing hats playing music on a giant crab parade float. Lego doesn't get much more fun than that.
  8. That's Master Frown from Frown Town, Unikitty's antagonist. There's an episode where his body gets eaten by a bird, or something, and he has to get to his evil meeting and so Unikitty helps him as long as he does some nice things along the way. The grey tombstone-looking character also in the set is Master Frown's roommate Brock.
  9. Hilarious and very recognizable. Great use of the very new cmf balloon piece and the mouth and eyes, indeed the whole face is perfection. Nice work!
  10. I am so ready. Lets go CMF-18-you-know-who! Just kidding.
  11. I am so on board with this. Great stuff already. Those small cars are pretty ingenious. The fact that this scale is aesthetically pleasing as well as requiring a small fraction of the pieces and display space of traditional modulars along with being rather challenging makes this all very appealing.
  12. Hooray the brilliant Peedeejay has returned with an amazing new modular! Gorgeous design. I love the varying depth of the exterior facade, the protrusion of building where it rounds the corner and the balconies, the vertical build of the masonry profile bricks and the overall color scheme. You've made excellent use of recent and new parts and great utilization of interior space. So many creative and detailed building techniques everywhere. Absolutely amazing and inspiring work. I'll be looking at this for quite some time. Amazing work!
  13. Hah, that combination of glasses, hair and lack of clothing is perfect for a cult-leader or DIY narcotics manufacturer.
  14. Gorgeous build! The architectural styling, the color choices and use of foliage are all in perfect harmony for that very Italian and Mediterranean feel. Very in-line with the official sets as well. Fabulous work!
  15. Both of these are totally plausible and I'd love to see them as the MOCs built in these styles show the amazing possibility. There are a number of refined and evolved styles derived from Art Deco that would be great possibilities without being too similar (or even remotely similar) to DD and Art Nouveau would also be especially awesome. There are a lot of great newer parts that would be well suited to making these styles possible in Lego that not too long ago would have been challenging.
  16. The Modular series has implemented and blended on many various iconic architectural styles and hasn't been limited to just one or any specific traditional or familiar style. Traditional style in the context of the Modular series would just mean predominantly 'Western-world' architecture from ~1500s onward (of which Art Deco is included though not very widespread due to it's short-lived acclaim). Its highly unlikely given that each building has been fairly unique with a rather specific architectural style that they would do another Art Deco/Streamline Moderne style building any time soon. However as with other modulars there might be small styling cues or specific minor areas that borrow on one of those styles but DD is likely to be the only one from that style for at least some time given how many other untapped architecture styles there are that haven't been implemented in official sets.
  17. Amazing! Are you going to take his Face... Off? If so... 'no more drugs... for that man' Really great work on the .45. What's that piece for the muzzle?
  18. Continuing with translating minifigures into Brickheadz (because I'm just not that Brickgenic) had to do a favorite; Misako!!!! CMF Misako: And movie/Ninjago City Misako:
  19. In the video Jang shows there is a separation point designed into the set to split the set into two halves so it can be moved more easily. 9:30-10:23.
  20. I thoroughly enjoy your style of stop motion with the construction minifigure team builds. Its a much more fun way to do a speed build. Great video.
  21. They brought back Emmet's car and its gone plug-in electric. Hopefully not supplied by a coal-fire power plant.
  22. Woah all those tiny trains are awesome. So used to seeing much larger scales, sometimes smaller can be amazing as well. Very inspiring.
  23. Looks like your answer has wrongs as well . According to this video of the actual sale the guy you have pictured is the second owner and bought it for $4200 from the kid who won it in some contest and then threw it under his bed for 10 years. The guy with classes and day-glow green shirt in the video is third owner. Still, a waste of money and doesn't count as production piece as per the original post. Disqualified.
