Picked up several buggy motors and this model was first one chosen to build. My version in yellow.

[MOC] 4x4 Super Crawler V2
technic_addict replied to JJ2's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Excellent crawler with lots of power and perfect speed. I just threw together a body on it so not the best. -
Best bargain likely a 50 set lot worth about 8k+ for 2k but the one that made me happiest was a recent buy of three hot flame RC buggies for $90. It was missing a couple of antenna and the 19L flex axles but those buggy motors are AWESOME! Too bad not many moc's utilize them to take better advantage of them.

Grum's Shed
technic_addict replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Have you thought about maybe making a temporary structure around the PwPH so it is more stable when trying to insert in? Perhaps a 3L pin through it with connectors on both ends and joined together by an axle? -
When complete, can you show a red / white version as well?

Grum's Shed
technic_addict replied to grum64's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It is the same material. The thickness of the pin is different which make one more flexible than the other. Use a micrometer. Bottom line. Some pins are more difficult to insert. I don't want to detract the purpose of this thread. -

Yes, there are different grades. There are also additives which can be added to the pellets. Neither of these is the reason why the pin is more difficult to insert. -

I am pretty sure TLG only uses ABS for all its plastic pieces regardless of use. Pieces which are difficult to insert are because of dimensions and or features making them more rigid. -
It might be just me but the side angle seems to show that the wheels and tires are too large when comparing to the real car. Top side view looks gorgeous.

This looks quite good! Not sure of all the flex axles but the Porsche tires and wheels will make this an expensive build.

You seem to make huge jumps with esthetics with every car you do. I really like the front end shot.

I bought some Sbricks and connected them to an IOS phone using a slider profile for steering and acceleration and found it very difficult to drive. I had concerns this would be an issue but had hoped it would be ok. Does it take a lot of practise? I am driving a small quick go-kart vehicle. Any recommendations?
