[MOC] Mack Magma

My guess you're using some form of a torsion bar for the suspension. The truck is nice, reasonable performance, and I like the front lights.- 5 replies

Platonic Solids
Leonardo da Bricki replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is really cool! My favorites are the bucky-ball and the dodecahedron. Because of the 20 orange globes. -
A promising start, and welcome back to Technic! Concerning the feasibility of your ideas, McPherson front suspension is near impossible, as is an automatic gearbox (as far as I know). Brakes on a dragged rear axle would be possible, as are opening doors. From the servo motor's current position, a working steering wheel would be difficult to implement. An RC gearbox is definitely possible, but you will probably need to have one drivetrain, and if you want good performance, especially off-road, don't bother with a central diff, unless you are able to lock it. Hope this is helpful!

I too have noticed this. If connectors are in a set, there are usually 2 or 4 of them in an obscure color, an example is #4 connectors in med. blue or med. azure. Otherwise, it is usually black/light bley #1, #2, and #6. Panels are also being used more and more to get a "completed" look, with fewer gaps, though that isn't always the case. And they are usually the brightly colored parts now, paired with black/blry beams, yet there is the exception of axles.

Very nice! Great appearance and functionality, and the gearbox is excellent.

An excellent chassis with some great functions. How well does it drive? I'll admit I have no idea what it is going to be...

Technic Pub

The issue is not with the controller itself, the issue is that the plastic lip around the battery terminals extends too far, so that contact is not made, at least in my remotes. I got one remote and 2 replacements, all with this issue, which is solved by using tin foil balls to allow contact between the battery and the controller terminal. Hope that helps! I can provide a photo later, if needed, once I am near my camera and Lego. -
This is really neat! I love the broken catwalk.

This is a cool idea, and looks really dangerous, sort of a thing that I would be afraid of hitting myself with.

Yes! That is probably my favorite part of this build! I found the image online, and just had to have it for this contest. Thanks! The SNOT rock was experimental, nice to know people think its good. -

Very nice truck, it looks great. How strong is the virtual pivot steering system? Going through sand, it seems like that would wreck the steering system.

Some great interior designs here! Also, thanks for including my sig-fig. But you forgot his cape. -
That is some epic parts use! My favorite is the Ninjago snakes as vapors from the cauldron.

Beautiful build! It is excellent in all aspects, but I really like those shattered windows! Although I do feel that a few non-Star Wars weapons would be nice, like axes, knives, a pistol or two, and maybe a classic baseball bat.

Great start! How strong are the diff locks? Also, where are those tires from? I have been wanting some that fit those rims.

Awesome wagon! Drifting ability is great, brakes are genius, and it looks pretty good! -
Great little house. I really like the tree, but angle farther from 90 would be nice.

I like this bunker, lot of details added, well executed.

Crap! You took my idea of a ram! Well, good luck. Are the L-motors damaged by forcing the ram back?

Thanks! I tried to make the base look nice, as it always helps the overall build. Thank you. Would you like instructions made? You will be seeing this again...
