I too realized the 9 studs when I was building this, but I couldn't seem to figure out how to design the chassis and keep it structurally strong while maintaining the normal 7 studs between the seats that I normally have in a 1:10 scale like this... Yesterday I was determined to alter the chassis to make this possible... And the end result is much better and cleaner looking than it originally was... I achieved the 7 studs between the seats and actually made the chassis a bit stronger using a few less parts than I had before... I also moved the steering wheel over a stud so that it is once again centered with the driver's seat... As you said, it looks much better... Amazingly ironic that while I was redesigning the model yesterday that I had seen your comment...

I honestly have no idea how these ones were tinted... I know some of the other ones that I had done had a little bit of paint mixed in with clearcoat and then that was applied over the chrome as a protectant and it gave the color to the chrome... These do not appear to be done the same way... Gabor Revai from Hungary sent me these new wheels...

Everything about this model is right on par with what you would see come from from an official Lego designer.. There are only a few people on this planet that could produce something like this... You have my complete respect.. I could never build anything like this...

To be honest, I wasn't inspired by any one car... I probably used dozens of cars for ideas, some worked and some didn't... The front end went through about 1/2 a dozen changes... Looking at it now, the body does somewhat resemble a Carrera GT.. Maybe I subconsciously built it thinking about that car and didn't realize it... My main goal was just getting the small panels to work together to form the headlight contours.. I just really wanted to make something different than anything that I had done before...This was the key piece that made those panels work together...

I am going to get build pictures taken this week that will better display it from a mechanical viewpoint... Basically there is a perpendicular axle connector that moves up and down that has a steering link attached to it that opens the door outwards, it then begins to move forawrds because it is mounted to the same pivot point(same axle) as the perpendicular connector, but the perpendicular connector can move higher that the liftarm because it is mounted through it's axlehole and the liftarm is just mounted through a normal hole... I realize this probably made absolutely zero sense to anyone who read it...

He is the guy who built all of the models that jorgeopesi linked to in the first post... I haven't seen anything new from him in about 4 years... I've talked to him in the past.. I believe that he was in the military.. Maybe that is why he hasn't updated his folder with anything new.. Possibly not enough time..

Here are 2 gif images of the door opening and closing... 2 naked chassis pics Yeah, I really wanted to try and work with nothing buy new and common parts, but I also didn't want to sacrifice the quality of the Car... I did the best that I could ... I didn't think people would buy up all of the 19L flexible axles over night... With the new 42029 Pick Up truck having the new 3 x 11 panel in red, that is easily possible... I think this would look good in red.. I'll probably build a second model in that color..

Well, I see all of the 19L flexible axles are gone from Bricklink.. Just a few days ago there were 10 people selling them... I was originally using those pins, but in order to get everything together easier, the 3L axle with stop was the better choice... And someone just listed 4 new 19L axles for $8 usd each... These may be an option: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=74402&colorID=1

This is my newest Car, the Phantasm Twin Turbo. I have some new Titanium colored Chrome wheels and Medium Gray Backdrop Photo paper on the way, but I don't know when they'll get here, so I figured that I would post up a few pics of a new car that I have been working on for the last few months... The pictures are not the best because it is difficult to photograph white, which is why I had the gray paper ordered..I've been wanting to design a unique original Supercar in white with parts that were not too rare.... My goal was to avoid #4 connectors and 3L pins with stop bush... I only used 2 of the 3L pins and zero #4 connectors... There are Five 19L flexible axles though....In order to get a unique look for a new car, I had to try and come up with something different for the front end.. I had been playing around with figuring out the best way to get the small panels to line up together to form the headlight shape, which was a bit difficult because they are off 1/2 a stud both ways...I also wanted to come up with an whole new mechanism for scissor/butterfly doors that could be operated from the rear of the car.. These doors open in 2 stages at the same time both forward and outwards when you roll a 12 tooth bevel gear forward, and close them when you roll them backwards.. The gears are located on each side of the Hand of God 20 tooth Bevel gear behind the rear mounted V8 engine... The doors also use the new style steering arms for their "outwards" motion. I am going to add a GIF of how this mechanism works..The gearbox is based on the same one that was in my Vampire GT, but this one is not All Wheel Drive and the Hand of God steering passes through it rather than under or around it...I used the older style black hubs with the new steering arms on all 4 wheels... I also found a great use for this new piece for the H.O.G. steering in the rear 5 x 11 open frame liftarm and 2 of them for the sides of the windshield..Many of the body components are built in a modular style and simply plug into their proper location...I am probably going to change the white parts of the interior to tan because I think that there is just too much white.. I already have the parts ordered...I am really happy with how the lines in this model turned out.. I am going to try and start getting some build pictures posted in the next few weeks.. Edit: I got my Titanium Chromed Wheels in courtesy of Gábor Révai and they look absolutely Amazing... New Pictures have been posted 8-28-2014...

In some models you do and in some you do not... Even some models that are all Technic do not have any functions... I was just spit-balling with the advanced building idea... This would probably be better...
-
100% Technic to me means 100% of the parts(Or the vast majority used) fall under the Technic category... If someone who knew very little about what Technic was viewed that Hall of Fame thread, they would be very confused... The "Technic Hall of Fame" should probably be called the "Advanced Building Hall of Fame" since it covers models that are both primarily just Technic along with ones that use more system bricks than Technic ones... Just my opinion of course...

If there was a new part that should have been pulled and redone, it should have been the hubs from the 42000... I think that new worm gear is fantastic...I used 2 of them in a door opening mechanism in a new project that I am working on... I am assuming this is uder moderate to heavy torque..? The screw seems to be about as thick as the older one...

You could also probably use one of those new red 8 tooth gears as a spacer since they don't have any friction.. But the way that you did it with the #2 connector probably adds a bit more stability... -
Very Nice...!
