  1. That's pretty awesome... I've been wanting to incorporate a roll cage into a car for years, but never did... Was thinking about doing a demolition derby car or something like that...
  2. I honestly don't know if it is 100% "Illegal", but it is something that seemed like a given, and I had always assumed was illegal...
  3. There is a bump on the pin (In the middle of the 2L part of it that is being slightly compressed because that bump is now in the middle of a liftarm... It is meant to completely go through a liftarm and then relieve that stress when it goes through the other side... That bump is there for a reason... This pin being used this way by Lego is the sole reason why I used it in a similar way in the top of the transmission in my Vampire GT.... I don't think Lego had ever used a 3L pin in this manner before the Excavator...
  4. Of course unless there is no choice to break the rules.. Like they did with a certain blue pin in the 8043 excavator... And since then I have used it the same way on several occasions... If it works for Lego right..?
  5. I've done this a couple times in a few of my models(My Porsche) with trans clear plates inserted into technic connectors and once I was told that was not allowed, I have serched for other methods...
  6. It's the 2 x 2 L shaped plate that is inserted studs first into the liftarm below it... It's right below the arrow...
  7. LOL.. No.. I would say maybe 2 or 3 years ago I had that many... I have like Four size 14 axles and maybe 10 #3 connectors now... I know I bought 75 size 14 axles for like .40 cents each from a seller in Germany back in 2012... They were plentiful back then... I am sure they will return at some point... I Just wish Lego would make parts packs with every size flex axle and every style of new panel in various colors.. 2 of each axle and 2 of each panel.. They could sell a ton of these...
  8. I think at one point I had over 100 size 14 flexi axles and probably at least 300 #3 connectors... More than just those cars have that part in red.
  9. This is a technique that a Technic desginer at Lego would probably only use as a last resort... It is probably only legal in their eyes in certain situations... They may use it in a place where there is no weight or heavy stress on that part because it isn't as strong as an axle... If I remember correctly that bar has a tendency to slide around as it doesn't have much friction to it(That is a Light Saber rod right?) which is a good thing and a bad thing as it could possibly work itself loose from repeated movement...
  10. Funny you should mention this.. About 6 weeks ago I started building a mid size car to motorize, and I was running 2 large motors off of a single channel with a V2 receiver and it completely kills out after 30 seconds of use...
  11. That is a really great point.. But why the need for it to be 1.5 studs deep though if the intention was easier axle removal..? It could have been 1 stud deep like a universal joint or a typical axle connector and still worked fine... Or maybe they are just giving that option to get that part to work in different situations that require various lengths..? I was always under the assumption that it was frictionless to accept limited axle movement if needed lke a real CV Joint... I actually have 4 CV Joints that have friction in them like any other connector.. I am assuming that they are design flaws though...
  12. The axle doesn't actually slide in and out of the CV Joint though does it..? It is always stationary I thought..?
  13. Cool.. I was wondering if the axle actually slid back and forth into that CV joint when the suspension was compressed evenly downward.. My wife built it, but unfortunately it has been taken apart and I can't get a look at it anymore.... I do remember something being a bit odd about the way the front suspension worked... Can't remember what it was though...
  14. I didn't think that any sets used it, but it is also in one of the new EV3 sets and I didn't know how it was used in that one... I also wasn't sure how it was used in the Unimog... This was how I used it...
  15. I build a little monster truck/car last year and used the frictionless design of the CV joint to make my steering'suspension work along with the drive through the new ball joints(from the 9398/8110) I was at work today and wondered if any of Lego's official sets used it in this way yet(with the in and out motion).. I don't have many of the sets that this part came in... In a real car with front drive, the spindle going into the CV Joint slides in and out slightly when steered which is most likely why Lego designed the part this way in the first place... Yeah, I know exactly what it is for and what it does, I wanted to know if any sets made use of it...
  16. IF Lego releases a new large car next year, I doubt they will call it the "Supercar" They may call it by some other name.. Would definitely like to see a Licensed large scale auto...
  17. Talking about this part There is a reason why it is frictionless and 1.5 studs inside... Have any sets actually made use of this in the last 13 years..?
  18. Wow.. That Black/Orange looks really really nice... Those Orange Bushings are about as rare as rare can get...
  19. If I remember correctly, there wasn't one Technic set in 2013 that had Flexible Axles, I thought that maybe Lego was doing away with them.. This year they have made a return in a few Technic sets as well as one of the architecture sets... I am not too big on the Ribbed Flex Tubing.. I haven't used that stuff in years... At least not for body styling... The Cargo Plane has them as well..
  20. Those are really nice looking pictures Filipe...!
  21. It didn't used to be like this years ago... The reason why it masks the actual bidders names is to protect them from other sellers contacting them after the auction ends(or during the auction) and doing deals off fo Ebay and possibly being scammed, not to mention Ebay wouldn't get their 10% cut of the sale... What you are describing as far as the bidding goes, it is just that the person who keeps outbidding you has a higher Bid put in than the amount that you are bidding... They may have put an initial bid of $100 on something and every time you increase it with your bid, it will continue to go up $1 or more(This increases as the price increases) until their original amount is hit.. Once you go over their initial max bid, you will be the highest bidder... It very well could be a seller shill bidding his own auction up... But then again I have sold 100's of things there and have had many people with Zero feedback join up and buy(or already be a member and make their first purchase through me).. It is scary when you have a good auction running and some guy with a Zero feedback starts running your auction up.. I always check them out via P.M. and if they don't respond back in a timely fashion, I retract their bid and block them... It's hard to determine exactly what could be happening... I've seen a lot of strange things take place at Ebay over the years...
  22. The 42000 and the 42021 set both have suspension... The 42021 had a rubber band suspension... The 42025 Monster truck had suspension... There was the 42007 Moto Cross Bike... And the upcoming Custom Pick Up truck has front and rear suspension...
  23. Power Functions would be very easy to add, however I don't think the performance would meet everyone's expectations for a model this large, which is why I don't bother with them, so I don't know if this would be better or not...
