[WIP] Mustang Rebuild
Paul Boratko replied to VKTechnic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would just order them straight from Lego...They should both only be around $1 to $2 each and should be available very soon... I call them every other day to check on the release... I am doing a Red Version of my Phantasm TT with the Yellow wheels from the 42030... -

She said that they didn't have that or the Hot Rod... She wanted to get the truck for herself to build, but like I said, they didn't have it... All of these sets are going into her bricklink store... She got a couple of Hot Rods last week at another Toys R Us... All of the prices were actually what they were supposed to be and not jacked up yet.... I hope that you bought all 4 of them... My stores haven't had any in a long time...

Not for every SDCC release they haven't.. The carded figures were only avaiulable at the Con... Last year they had their final SDCC Gi Joe/Transformers crossover set on their site and it was sold out in about 30 minutes... By the time anyone found out about it, it was already too late.. They never made anymore despite the demand for them... From what I was told they only sell them if there are extra to sell...If not, then get ready to pay...

This is not true, at least is hasn't been before this year. It may be true for some companies, but defintely not all of them... I collect Hasbro 25th anniversary(2007 and up) Carded G.I. Joe figures and I have had to pay high prices on every SDCC exclusive figure (2 different ones per con, a common figure and a rarer variant of that figure) because that was the only place that you could get them.. They were never sold anywhere else other than online stores like Big Bad Toys who also sold them at high prices... Now I know that this year there is some SDCC set that is also going to be able to be purchased at some point in the future as a Toys R Us exclusive...

Every minifigure collector wants that Heath Ledger Joker Figure... My wife was selling the Hulk minifigure from the 6868 set for $25 and that was only a $50 set(Wallmart clearanced out 1000's of them for $35 USD) So I don't think the Joker or the Batman figure selling for $50 is unrealistic at all since they are only available in this $200 set... Not to mention that is just the US price... Everyone else around the world has to pay much more for the set... I expect a feeding frenzy for the figures when this set first launches...

Bricklink sellers are expecting the minifigures to fetch between $50 to $75 each... Like I said before, selling them off would be very practical if you buy this set and have no interest in them... @Anio I am hoping that you are right about those black axle friction pins making a return... The return of those pins will be devastating for sellers that have been hoarding them up on Bricklink as Meatman's link shows...

Ah Huh! So that is what they brought the old style worm gear back for... The nice thing about this set is that you can sell off the 2 minifigures for probably almost 1/2 of what the set sells for... That is if you are not into minifigure collecting... That Heath Ledger style joker figure is going to be HOT.

Model Team Definition
Paul Boratko replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I always wondered why Model Team was lumped in with Technic Forum... System brick based Model Team IMO is cool enough to have it's own forum... Model team is primarily basic steering functioned detailed realistic looking models that are larger than minifigure scale.. There was a jet that came out back in the mid 2000's that people were considering "Model team" even though I thought that it was more of something that would be UCS... -
No, it is a very simple switch out for the old worm gear... Goiing to get a white parts list compiled very soon...

It appears that I will be getting the privilege of testing one of these cool new S-Bricks out... Guess I better start building something interesting and different to make good use of it...- 780 replies
