  1. I heard from a few resellers and dealers that the new licenses(Movie and Simpsons) are the primary reason for the Technic delay in the USA ... To me it doesn't make much sense... Kind of off-topic, but one thing that I have noticed is that a fair amount of new systems sets for 2014 have quite a bit of Technic elements in them... More so than I think I've ever seen...
  2. Oh, ok... I see. I really didn't have too many options with the rims... It was either this rim or this rim in black with the Enzo wheels covers or the 599 GTB Wheel covers... This is the only style rim that Lego makes that fits these tires...
  3. I know the only parts from that set that Lego would allow you to buy from them were the Dark blue 5 x 11 panels.. But none of the other parts, including the silver ones.. They said they were "Licensed" Not sure who they were licensed too..
  4. I'll always be in the minorty with my choice, butThe 8448 is my favorite, mainly because it actually resembles a car and was built in a modular format... The 8880 brought a lot to the table in the form of functions over it's predecessors but I just didn't like how it looked.. I also had an issue with the "HOG" steering being kind of tough, maybe because of the weight or it may have been because the tire being used for it just didn't grip well... But that was also a time before all of the new parts were introduced so I guess it was what it was...
  5. Actually it was always a rule.. I knew about it before I submitted my Vampire GT back in April 2012 which was before the Land Rover was added to Cuusoo... I just don't think they were really enforcing it as strictly as they are now... I also don't think that is the reason why it was not given the green light... Cuusoo is geared towards smaller sets... If Sheepo's model was comprised of several hundred parts, it may have made it, but then again, it never would have gotten to 10k supports because it wouldn't have had all of the cool features that it does..
  6. Too bad only one person will get the credit for it... Still very happy though...
  7. Here is it all opened up...
  8. LOL.. I actually came here to post that picture of that Agents set because it had so much Technic in it... There are 7 on the tiop and what looks to be 2 on each side... Plus many more in the back you can see when it is all opened up...
  9. I thought they were as well because of that little hole in the end, but you can clearly see in this picture that the little hole is created from a tan pin going through a pinhole...
  10. I guess that I am in the minority here, I think the model looks alright. The only problem I see is because of those new hubs and the fact that the tires are not flat, it is just going to be wobbly as Hell...You can already see the wheels leaning different ways in the pictures...
  11. I tried to keep everything as current as possible.. The only "Rare" parts are 11 white bushings and 4 black ones(The black ones are not crucial)... But the Germans on bricklink have those more than covered... The pearl light gray parts can also be found rather easily... Not a chrome fan..?
  12. Probaby just for a visual appeal plus it would make it easier to switch it if you wanted to reach in and change it directly at the catch...
  13. On another viewing, those are not the snow mobile suspension arms... There are 3L tan pins holding the rear hub on(15 second mark) The holes at the ends looked smaller because of the holes from the pins...
  14. I am curious how the arms connect to the rear hub... Simple liftarms would have worked... Those hubs are pretty easy to work with... Unless they are using something different... LOL.. Out of all of the 2014 sets, this is the only one that my wife is excited about building and keeping for herself...
  15. If you pause the video at the 31 second mark, you can get a decent view under the hood.. It looks like it has 6 cylinder blocks...
  16. If you pause the video at the 13 second mark, you can see that they do in fact look like the steering arms from the snow mobile... It looks like one arm facing downwards and another arm on under it... And you can see the DBG center hub in the rear wheel, so it most likely using the rear 42000 hub in some way... Perhaps new parts are being used as well..? Is that some type of new C-shaped liftarm between the arms..?
  17. That is the result of too much play in the loose fitting hubs...
  18. Yeah, you're probably right.. I forgot they made that 3/4 pin in tan... I seen the tan and thought that it was a tan axle-pin... Couldn't really get a good look at the other side to see if an axle was coming out or not, plus it seemed like it would have been a little more reliable with an axle pin and a liftarm with axle holes on the ends... Not that there is any resistance on the bottom steering arm anyway as it is just going along for the ride...
  19. Looks like we'll be getting the new 5L thin liftarms with double axle hole ends in yellow... At least I think that is what the new truck is using to stablize the front steering arms...
  20. You don't have to worry about the axle sliding around through the new worm gear because it has bushings on each end... It's easier to stabilize and work with, plus it is 3L instead of 2L which works with the basic Technic system of odd numbers... I would like to know who these people are who set up these displays... You have wheels on the Volvo front loader facing different directions, mirrors on the truck not positioned correctly... Jeez.. I wish Lego would hired me to go around and set up these displays, I'll make sure the models are set up properly for the public to see...
  21. It is going to be a wobbly mess with no flat surface making contact with the ground... I built a small monster car type vehicle a little while ago using those hubs and wheels and it does the same thing... LOL.. Yeah, it does. No doubt about that.. There goes my hopes of doing a Christmas themed car later this year... Or I'll just steal them from my wife's bricklink store...
  22. As far as mechanisms go, I would say learning how the rear differential worked in the 8860 auto chassis was a big step for me...
  23. For a small model, it looks excellent.. It has a very creatively designed front blade using small panels and a V4 Engine...
