  1. I was wondering this myself... I have been working with different center differential set-ups myself for all-wheel-drive cars with the new style one.... However according to Lego direct, the old style differentials are currently still being produced...
  2. I suppose that I'll be the first one to comment on what an amazing job that Firas has done with this model... It truly is spectacular in every way... This just adds to the amazing line-up of wonderful models that he has built over the years and also shows why he is without a doubt one of the best builders in the world...
  3. Whatever it is, I just hope that it has some new white parts and white Panels....
  4. Hopefully this new "Extreme Cruiser" will have 20 of them in it....
  5. First off, the seller is from the United Kingdom, and secondly it is false advertisement claiming that it is One of a Kind because I have one sitting in a glass display case in my living room, and mine has all of the proper parts that are supposed to be on it. That guy sure is bending the Heck out of those axles on the front windshield.... This is a prime example of why I am glad that people don't credit my name along with their "One of a Kind" creations...
  6. Then you have the World Racers theme where you have cars, boats, and motorcycles equipped with chainsaws, spinning blades and rockets all being used to edge out the competition.
  7. It's funny, because with the exception of the Technic line, every other theme in Lego seems to revolve around some type of conflict or battle.... However, when it comes to the city theme, the cops don't carry guns... But if you are fighting off the undead or mythical giant scorpions, then it is ok to use a gun...
  8. Here is the thing, it may possibly ruin the motor that you are cranking over time, but if a $6 motor lasts a few years, I really don't see what the big deal is. Spinning a spindle isn't what primarily makes an electric motor go bad... A simple crank type knob could easily be installed into this set with minimal modification...
  9. There was some guy from China selling 100's of these fake sets on Ebay last week and they have all mysteriously disappeared. He had dozens of fake 8653 Enzo Ferrari sets and fake 8674 Ferrari F1 sets for $39.99. As someone mentioned before, these knock offs are absolute trash as I have come across these in the past. The quality is terrible... I think there is one company out of China that makes these sets and they change their name every few months to throw The Lego Company off.
  10. Everyone of my wife's models are stored in plastic rubbermaid type containers. I have a couple of my cars in a glass case in the living room. Legos tend to really attract a ton of dust. Luckily the newer style studless beams are much easier to clean than the old school studded ones were...
  11. This may seem like kind of cheesy solution... I actually piggybacked another small motor to the original motor installed in my wife's 8070 set and then mounted it in the rear and actually work the functions with the 2nd motor powering the original motor by turning a 20 tooth double bevel gear in the second motor... I simply refuse to buy batteries...
  12. The only thing that I have found that I can do is block all comments from everyone. If you look through the history of posts made at my site since I started it, you'll see many rude comments made by people. But that is to be expected. My style of building is not everyone's cup of tea and I realize this. I got a first hand taste of it when I attended Brickworld 2010 in Wheeling, IL last June. I was shocked at the very rude remarks that both guests and other builders had made about my work. I even had Nathanael Kuiper's concept car on display along with my cars. One person there said "This crap shouldn't be in the main room, it should be in the back room with the monster chess board" and his friend said "Or maybe throw it out in the parking lot" and they giggled and walked away... and I was standing right there! Guests would pull there kids away from my table saying "That isn't Lego" or "We didn't come to see that"..... Like I said, you'll have these things happen. Needless to say, I will never attend another show there again. It wasn't a very pleasant experience from the time I left my house for the 10 hour drive until the time I got back home. I did meet some really great people like Bob Kojima and Thomas Mueller, and I got to sign an autograph for a guy that bought a car off of me a few years ago, so that was kind of cool. I also let everyone play with my models and demonstrated how everything worked. I think it kind of bothered some of the other builders because after kids would touch and play with my stuff, then they wanted to play with everyone else's and obviously that wasn't going to happen... By the way Nico, I added a link on my site to your site.
  13. I am currently constructing a second model and taking pictures to upload to brickshelf and my site so that anyone who is interested can get a better idea of what I have going on mechanically inside of the car along with detailed building procedures. I really don't have a clue as to where to begin when it comes to making professional looking technic instructions. I honestly don't know how some of you guys do it and I applaud you for your accomplishments. I suppose that if I spent more time working with the CAD program that I could eventually figure it out...
  14. I am talking about a small personal website, not one with s forum that requires a registration and e-mail confirmation... There is no script that needs to be or can be written for mine. Selling instructions is something you'll never understand because apparently you must have no faith in your models. How many technic instructions have you put 100's of hours into and then offered for free? I can't even tell you how many hours I have spent tearing models apart just to send ONE person the exact photo that they were looking for to solve their problem. And where again have I made reference to your personal website? I must have missed that. It is very apparent that you don't like me and I don't like you. Yeah... I am sure that if I set up a Paypal link for donations that I would have got enough money to cover the $270 yearly fees. You must be living in another world if you think that would have happened. Plus I compensated Eric for his work. You know, there are so many thieves out there stealing other's work including mine and you have the nerve to criticize me? Buddy, I have done more for the Lego community than you could dream of. I have worked with kids who don't speak a lick of English via e-mail all over the world. What do you do besides nitpick? I mean seriously, what do you do?
  15. Do you have any clue as to what you are talking about? I have a simplistic website with a simplistic blog option... What am I going to create? I get 200 hits a day and rarely even check the comments section... Oh, that's right, you were one of my biggest critics over Eric and I selling instructions, because you made and gave whatever instructions that you spent 100's of hours designing to the world for free and thought that we should have been doing the same thing... Guess what? I used the money that I received from selling instructions to keep my site running through 2013 so that I can provide pics, instructions, info, and also links to everyone. Do you have a link for YOUR website? I would love to see it... Maybe you can show me how a site is supposed to be moderated properly....
  16. Nico, earlier today I took care of the comments that were left from a few weeks ago. I knew that you probably didn't leave them based off of the style of english that they were posted in. If you remember, last year I also had to delete some comments made by someone who also was using your name. I think that I have an idea of who this guy is, but I can't say anything without 100% certainty. And Anio, you didn't need to keep underlining the words in your post to make it a point that it was my site and I needed to moderate it. In fact I had already taken care of the problem way before you made your post about it. But let me ask you a question, what do you expect me to do? Delete comments that criticize me the minute that they are posted? Or for that fact, why should I delete them at all? Isn't that what blogs with comment features are for? If you feel that pictures of your creations are worth putting out there for the world to see, then you better be ready for the negative comments that may follow, and believe me, I have heard them all... And even in person. And Nico, if I didn't have respect you, I wouldn't have a link to your SeTechnic forum on my website. If you notice, I only have certain links up for certain sites. In fact your Barracuda is one of my favorite models. As far as my new car goes, I would like to thank David for posting up a link to the early pictures and video for it. However a few little things have changed in the past few weeks and I am still learning how to properly record and edit video along with still trying to perfect my camera photography skills. I am finally done with it and I am pleased with how it turned out. It is very solid, the body was built with minimal parts, the steering is smooth as can be, and the control box and functions work perfectly. Sure it was inspired immediately after I seen the preliminary pics of the new 8070 Supercar that leaked out, but if you look closely at the 2, it is pretty easy to see that even though a couple of panels are in the same places, everything is at different angles and constructed completely different than the Official model. In fact, I have Comparison Pics HERE. And I can guarantee that my car and Lego's 8070 are 100% different when it comes to mechanical and chassis construction. I am pretty sure that the 8070 uses worm gears to slow down the functions. I dabbled with these, but I did not want to use a motor anyways and worm gears took forever to make things move just by turning knobs. I personally don't like the power functions motors and I hate changing batteries. Yeah I know lego has a rechargeable one... As far as me changing my building style or moving on to other things... Not going to happen. I love to build studless cars and only cars. I started working on a new truck chassis, but I just don't have the desire to finish it. Actually, I started it before I started on this new car. Some of you need to realize that just because someone only builds in one style doesn't mean that they need to move on to evolve... It isn't like I keep using the same chassis over and over and over again and just change up the body style. Every car I do has a unique suspension and chassis to the last one. And every time that I build something, I look at it and say there is no way that I could do it better.. until I build my next car and realize that there are still leaps and bounds to make when it comes to advanced construction. In my Opinion, I feel that every new car model that I build vastly improves over the previous one that I had done and I am always coming up with new ideas that could possibly benefit the new builders out there that share my same interests and love for cars.
