Lego definitely uses different types of ABS plastics for different types of parts... The reason why I know this is that I have tried to color dye white and LBG parts by heating them up in very hot water and some parts took the dye perfectly while others would not... Lego seems to use different hardnesses of ABS with certain parts... If anyone wants to make black axle pins, you can easily make them using black color dye.. However they will not have friction.. And blue ones will not take the dye... And LBG bushings only turn purple when trying to dye them... And if you go too hot, you'll warp the parts...

I have to admit, for the first month I felt like I had a new wife...

Eric did a fantastic job with the instructions... I don't play pool as much as I used to and was a little rusty.. It actually took me 3 or 4 attempts to make that last curved shot.... Since we were fllming on a pool table, it only seemed fitting to pocket some balls with the models on the table... Yes, that is my wife... She has straightened her naturally curly hair since the last time you seen her, but it is the same woman and the operator of Panda's Technic Palace.... My man Gábor Révai has some new Titanium chromed wheels in stock if anyone is looking to enhance any of their vehicles... They are the same color as the ones on the white Phantasm TT on the first page of this thread...

It is possible, but I prefer the manual mechanism.. Eric built his model and said that he couldn't stop playing with the doors... Someone recently built a Vamp GT and motorized the whole thing including the doors...

Wonder if the Arctic tracked vehicle will follow the same color scheme as the System sets..? Would be cool to have more orange parts...

Funny, I had heard last year that there was going to be a track racecar coming out and I thought that it was for 2014... I think I even posted about it in last year's 2014 Technic thread...Edit: Found the thread... http://www.eurobrick...ic=85899&st=900 I wonder if this was something that was finished last year and was put on hold for this year or what...? Or maybe just in developement... These will probably end up being those small cars that Lego has been doing...

It sells out because of all of the exclusive items that attract fans as well as scalpers... Sure Lego doesnt have to be part of it, but considering that they have licenses for most of the things that are the primary focus of the event, they would be silly not to be part of it.. It's great advertisement for them... If everyone else is selling items, what does it hurt if Lego sells and gives away items..? They are a business just like these other toy companies.. I don't mind having to pay $100 for a SDCC G.I.Joe figure that soemone at the show paid $16 for... It would have cost me several thousand dollars to attend that same show to get one...

Maybe the Lego related stuff is gone in minutes, but not everything sells out there even after the duration of the entire event... There is a TON of SDCC exclusive items besides Lego...

You should just sell these on Ebay.. You could most likely make more money and reach a greater audience... You could probably sell a single cable for $15... Easy $10 profit...
-
It's part of the incentive to draw people there to make money at the door... If companies didn't give out/sell exclusives, they probably wouldn't get the crowd numbers that they do... The attendence numbers went from 50,000 in 2000 to over 130,000 by 2012, mostly because of the Ebay/scalping boom...

You should just sell the LDD for $5... If people want it, they are not going to want to wait around for a goal to be met... -

These can be made pretty easily for under $5... I made one a few years ago to run PF off of a 9V incase I didn't have a nearby electrical outlet at shows, it's pretty easy to make... I even spliced and on/off switch into mine so the motors don't take off as soon as you connect them... Here is an old topic on these....
