  1. Thanks! The Existing Color Policy is on for this build, and I want to maintain it for my builds in the future - except for "I would like to see an official set like this" builds. Yes, and I'm glad that there is a ball-joint piece with a 1x1 stud area. The others would have been too big. And thanks for all the praises! Telling the truth, I wanted to make it more ball-shaped, closer to a real sphere which is typical for real-life armadillos. The lego build is too "flat" in the standard mode and doesn't have a hemisphere shape when seen from the front. But the IRL armadillos can somehow stretch their back when forming a ball, which is impossible with plastic, so I had to "pack in" the stomach instead, with these overlapping side-shields which form a cone rather than a hemisphere - I hope you know what I try to say. And it can curl up completely with the head touching the tail (not pictured), but there would be no space for the minifig inside.
  2. Uh, very sturdy and evel-looking! I like the hair on the legs using antennas.
  3. Ooops, forgot: The Tatullo
  4. These creatures are use by the nomad people of the Tatullians who live in the Westersands. Being the relatives of the common armadillos, they were domesticated by the people of the desert many centuries ago. The Tatullians depend of these animals greatly and use them in various fields. Since their skin is thick, it is hard to harm them during a battle. Their riders wield long spears to stab the enemy from the height of the Tatullo. The most distinctive feature of them comes from the armadillo heritage: they can curl up into a giant impenetrable ball, which can be used as a cover during a fight. It withstands common arrows or spears, but Greek fire or other heavy attack can hurt these creatures, so Tatullians don’t use them as living shield when their loved ones can be in serious danger. Tatullos are surprisingly balanced when they are curled as pictured below, so they can be used as “outposts” when no higher grounds can be found in the desert. The bond between the mount and rider is very strong. During the heavy sandstorm Tatullos surrounds their master to protect them from the harsh wind that would surely cost the human’s life. That huge body guards the fragile one… (strangely they have orange eyelids) Sorry from my Mitgardian brothers for not building this in the North, but the natural environment of the armadillos required that. Disclaimer: As it is a digital build, is not considered to be an official entry of the Mini-challenge. I just wanted to show this. I planned to build an animal that I find very cute, and not seen to often in LEGO form. Building the “curling mechanism” was quite a challenge. And if you want to punish someone, force them to use these ball-joints in LDD. It has unlimited possibilities, but making the right position is more time-consuming than in real life.
  5. I never liked turtles without pupils. Is that supposed to be some kind of goggles with white lens?
  6. My opinion is, that if we are thinking in two different flags - one for the merchant and one for the guards - they have to be instantly regocnizable, even in the level of colors. If you see the two flags below, can you tell in a second which one is which? I think not. These are meant for children and they won't care about fine details like an anchor or a cannon when they want to differentiate who sails under which flag. I think in both flags, one color has to dominate, and the others should be present only in smaller extent - let's say mainly white for the merchant and orange for the guards. Like this maybe?
  7. Nice scene! The remained snow on the trees look good. I don't know anything about maple syrup, so I thought I will see trees in the summertime, but if that's the way it's done, so it is.
  8. Very creepy, nice work! First I didn't see what minifig legs you were talking about.

    MOC: Restaurant

Wow, awesome! My favourite is tha little pagoda. And is there a picture with a better view to the bar section?
  10. It's really cool, with the door opened, and the car as a whole.
  11. Oh, I thought all of them are in the window. That's why I thought the Juice Bar are actually two sets. Of course I see the Simpson House now! I was thinking what kind of tower could be next to the Falcon. But now I see all of them! The whole idea is superby the way, I love it!
  12. If the white part of the roof is supposed to be snow, than maybe tiles instead of plates would be better. As for the whole build, its' fantastic! The dark blue works really good, and the details everywhere (the golden spots, the eaves, the windows on the ceiling of the classrooms) all look amazing!
  13. That eye-camera in the back! Out of the 6 sets in the display I can recognize only 3 : Millenium Falcon, Metalbeard's ship and S-S-Spaceship! What are the other three?
  14. My favourite part s the lattice covered with vines. And the walls look much better on the 2nd version.
  15. The lava flowing through the grille looks good. Waiting for the remaining parts of the story!
  16. Will there be - according to your idea - merchants as well with this faction? The barrel is a good symbol for representing merchant. Or maybe a bag with a coin or dollar sign on it? And since the soldiers are guarding the Haven, the symbol could be some weapons (cannons or rifles) in a cross shape with the merchant symbol in the middle. Weapons guarding goods!
  17. Among others, i like that lamp on the ceiling.
  18. The fact that this creature is balanced is a miracle to me. Nice work!
  19. I like that part of the island is at sea level. It shows me that the elevation is very low, maybe that part is flooded when the tide comes.
  20. I like the ones with the cross-pattern, and maybe the 2nd is better. Apart from the grey, white black and orange are enough for me, I don't see the need of using gold - or any other - color.
  21. Glad that someone knows it. Intentionally of course.
  22. Lovely with those crates outside and all those things you can buy there. And the Fabuland sign
  23. Here is the lxf file, and the custom stickers are also here. And thanks to all, I like that others love these diners as well.
  24. An old-styled diner. I love these buildings and I hope you like how it turned out.
  25. That turtle And I LOVE that music when the door opens. What is it?
