Yer doing a fantastic job piratizing these sets! Are these swift parrots? No really, there is a species of parrot named the swift parrot.

Thank ye kindly for the blood, sweat, and mainly tears that gets poured into trying to keep the fan base engaged. I also agree with option #2. Twenty years ago Megabloks had the Pirates of the Caribbean licence and the sets were fundamentally to LEGO Pirates. Beyond the base elements, the Megablocks "bricks" have far fewer studs than their LEGO counterparts, Significantly more detail and paint applications, And overall, function more like regular playsets with some extra extensibility. So you can't really mix these Megabloks elements with LEGO or you'll notice the contrast right away, and in the same token, I'd rather not mix them with LEGO Pirate topics in the LEGO Pirates Forum. However, I don't see the harm in a discussion forum for non-LEGO brands. And depending upon how popular that forum is, it could perhaps one day tangent into a dedicated Megabloks forum.

Of course, if anyone can succeed, BrickPerfection can! Maybe I haven't fully understood the Design Program Guidelines, but I was under the impression once a palette has been announced, the part selection it offers is fixed for that series/wave. Unless, you're thinking further ahead in time. I.e. the necessary parts will be available for 2028 Wave 2... so Esperanza may need to skip Wave 1....
-
Now the big questions are: Will Esperanza be returning for Designer Program - 2028 Wave 1? Will it be undergoing any changes from the Series 11 version?
-
Open Submission for the (BrickLink) Designer Program – 2028 Wave 1 is between 14 and 28 September, 2026 Obtain all the latest information and then... Start BUILDING LEGO Pirate marvels! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There have been significant updates to the BrickLink Designer Program, now named just "Designer Program" Aside from a new coat of paint, the way Release Cycles are named has significantly changed. No longer will numbered Series be used, but instead, each Release Cycle will be divided in Collections of three Waves corresponding to the year of the Production and Shipping. So bring yourself up to speed and then... Tell us what you think of the latest changes...

Beautiful! Now on that angle and perspective, getting the ship to "sit" on the water will be quite the challenge!
-
Magnificent! Well, it's already been pushed back by news... First the Sea Serpent Gift With Purchase, then the BrickLink Designer Program Rebrand and then Designer Program: 2028 Wave 1

Esperanza proved to be quite popular and there were a generous number of comments from LEGO Pirate fans who would like this ship to be available for pre-order. It's time to start slowly working on a blog post for Esperanza – @BrickPerfection, is there a version of this image with a neutral/plain background?
-
And now that crazy person will attempt to work on blog posts for both The Jolly Roger and Armada Galleon Esperanza by @BrickPerfection simultaneously. Might be weeks before either post is published, because there's a bunch of non-MOC posts in the pipeline, but it will be interesting to see what gets done first And further to this apsiraton, is there a higher resolution version of the YouTube video preview image: At least 1920x1080 dimensions Does not have the title "The Jolly Roger" plastered over the ship I've extracted a still from the video at around 00.05 but it has too much compression. I'm aiming for something that looks nice and crisp and clear to use as a Featured Image.

Interesting you mention this, because there is a Jolly Roger based on the 1991 Hook movie on LEGO Ideas that's been doing the rounds lately. While the presentation is decent, the builder PBA Art, doesn't provide many unobstructed views of the ship, thus making a side-by-side comparison challenging. This view of the stern and starboard broadside is the best we have to work with. And now for good measure, let's throw in this Revell scale model: Peter Pan's Pirate Ship Jolly Roger H337-149 1/72

Thank ye so much for sharing this with everyone! It's been added to the fan slideshow on the Classic-Pirates.com homepage – (hopefully) with the appropriate acknowledgements:

If you look closely there are quite a few part differences, but the real issue is the main ship build of both sets share the same "footprint" or "silhouette" which is why many are understandably disillusioned by the familiarity. So I agree that The LEGO Group should have offered a completely different ship, preferably something along the lines of a Creator version of an Imperial Flagship or Caribbean Clipper to truly differentiate it from its predecessor. But, being a general retail release, the set only needs to appeal to the causal LEGO fans, many whom are children who probably aren't old enough to remember the first Creator Pirate Ship. Still not as bad as Orange Cat / Tuxedo Cat, which is a blatant colour swap... and the LEGO website isn't even trying to hide that by allowing the user to select their preferred colour. And contains 190 fewer pieces...
