  1. Ooh, DTM would be cool If lego ever goes for an old school DTM car, i would throw my wallet at an Alfa 155 V6 Ti DTM
  2. Well, received my parts over the week, not only did one seller send the wrong size tires, it also appears LDD screwed up exporting the parts list (or i massively screwed up typing them into BL, since it wouldnt import), but im missing quite some pieces... back to the drawing board!
  3. About that, i think the PF kit i bought last year for RCing (battery box, L motor, servo, ir receiver and remote) already came out to €80, doesnt leave much room for an interesting model...
  4. Hmm, not hugely enthusiastic about those names and pricepoints. The $15 chopper sounds good, the rest sounds kinda meh No direct replacement for 42039, and im not terribly enthusiastic about licensed sets creeping in and raising prices for the typical models (42007, 42036 and now a BMW Bike at a higher price) Still, i could be entirely wrong with my first impression
  5. Thanks CM4Sci! Slightly surprised to see a merc pitstop set, given 2015s McLaren pitstop set, but if the theme will focus on F1 again for the race cars it makes sense. Excited about the AMG GT3, will be nice to add it to the 911 and R8 for the GT3 league, although i worry how well the smooth shape will translate. Ferrari F1 car will be a sure buy if its a single car set, will be my first SC F1 set! Bugatti, im guessing will be the chiron, seeing how that is the current flagship, and SC has been mostly about the latest cars. Not terribly excited, but if its a single car, ill pick it up, because im weak... Now, speculation time, we've obviously get a merc license, and are back in europe theme wise, we still need one more single car, and my guess would be a Ferrari (488 GTB?, F12 might be as well), the Merc pitstop is either a single car €40 set, or a two car set, at either €55 or €80 depending on how much pitbox we get. Id also expect a porsche set, but i dont quite know what, maybe the 4th single car is a 911 GT3 RS rather then a ferrari? Anyway, yaaaaaaaay, new Speed Champions, cant wait!
  6. I really like that AT-ST, although with general european pricing at €50 im sure we will get to pay €55-60 at least... Ill be adding it to the imperial army though, the rest is a solid pass, it all looks rather RO specific, and wont fit in well with other imperial stuff.
  7. Just placed an order for this car in black/white, sadly no pearl gold rims... Came out to €20 including the driver from the mustang, plus shipping from 2 BL shops, so a little more expensive then what i wouldve paid for a normal set in store, but this will be a slightly more exclusive model, so its all good!
  8. Cool! And yeah, i know its not a proper "fishing" fishing boat, more of a sports-fisher boat. If this comes in at €20 i might pick it up and build a small motoryacht with it as a tub-toy :D
  9. I like that! Im not a big fishing fan, but just last week i was thinking i could use a smallish lego boat. And these €20 sets are absolutely brilliant, a very good sweetspot of affordability, yet offering a decent sized vehicle with good features. I do wonder if this boat has a watertight hull (and comes with a weighted keel), would make for a cool tub-toy
  10. Looks awesome, if i have spare time tonight i might see about bricklinking the GT40 version, i wonder if a Gulf colour scheme is possible
  11. Awesome! Although i think the blog post highlights a problem with F1 cars and the speed champions size, F1 cars are different from each other, but the differences are too small to represent in brick form on that scale, they all end up being just a colour/sticker swap off the same model. Doing different era cars like this works very well though, i wonder if a 312T2 is doable..
  12. As for the RPM measurement, i dont believe it went over 6K6, that just sounds like the wear from unlubricated parts would brake something quite fast. If you want a more accurate measurement, gear down the output shaft by a LOT (like several worm wheels), two 24 tooth worm wheel combos will reduce by 576:1, giving an output speed of 10-12 rpm, which should be judgeable by eye.
  13. The GT-R sounds like a shoe-in, as would the FD RX-7 (although i doubt it would look good, the real thing is very sleek and slender)
  14. A TS050 would be ace, even if im probably never gonna own the porsche set.. to complement the TS050 and the R18 If wave 3 gets a jap theme, i'd love the two car set (replacing the camaro drag race) to be some totally wacked out modded drifters, purple, pink, neon green etc... And id really love for one of the loose cars to be something old skool, something like a 280zx or similar And off course a rotary mazda, maybe the 787b?
  15. Im torn TBH Small vehicles such as in 8014 and 75078 are excellent for army building imho, as they add decent looking (if somewhat generic/nondescript) small assault vehicles to ones army. Especially considering otherwise you end up with a huge bunch of stormies and no viable way for them to ride into battle! Good gun emplacements also work well for setting up a defense perimeter somewhere There was a MOC posted here as well which combined two 75078 transports into one bigger, more screen accurate version which carries 6 stormies, i have two of those big ITTs in my imperial ground forces. But there are some stinkers too, stuff like the small base/console on the imperial battlefront BP, or the console bit on the snowtrooper BP, although that particular BP has a nice speederbike
  16. Cool! Im not a big pirates guy, but id love to have a big ship to put on display, and the last pirate ship didnt quite do it for me. Three possible new ships, awesome!
  17. I was wondering how long it would be until some first rumors surfaced (set names/numbers) Fingers crossed for a new cool motorbike and racecar to replace 42036 and 42039!
  18. I like the tracked loader (42032), but the new hydroplane racer (42045) is a better parts pack probably, the display jet is a good panel pack (10 white panels for $9.99), and the pullback racers are fun to toy with as well (as in, use the motor as a base for your own pullback MOC), the police pursuit pullback set also has rather interesting tires. The go-kart (42048) is cool as well, but would require some money added. TL;DR: Technic is cool, this includes the cheap sets, pick whichever one speaks to you the most!
  19. Hmm, i really should see if i can get a deal on this set, my PF gear isnt doing anything right now, and this is a much better chassis then the 42022 hot-rod i had it in (steering on that model is crap), and i could use the suspension parts for MOCs Only downfall are the damn off-road tires, Lego needs to put more race-worthy tires in sets :P
  20. Excellent mod! so much better both inside and out then the original!
  21. Ouch, the blue curved panels are pretty much a no-go to bricklink, 13 for sale worldwide... I have four purples as spare, and bright green ones are cheap though, sadly the nose panel is only available in blue and yellow. The steering arm is expensive as well, but only 2 are needed, and they are readily available. Personally im more concerned about the tires.. €20 just in rubber.. I might throw it all in Bricklink tonight and see what can be achieved with some smart colour-swapping
  22. looks amazing! Im blown away by all the high quality mocs we are getting out of the porsche contest, amazing stuff!
  23. Not sure how 9396 works, but i have 8232, and it also has a ratchet mechanism, the blades keep spinning when the driving force stops
  24. Currently at work, so i cant open the LDD, but does anyone have a part count? Im wondering how much it would (roughly) cost to bricklink this model, assuming i dont have most parts (i do, but it is too difficult to really take into account)
