2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vectormatic replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks J2G! good review (small niggle, i dont like how you have the spoiler positioned during the largest part of the video, why not position it properly?) And Lego, OMG, a multipart sticker? Why? I understand brick-building an R8 front is HARD, but a multipart sticker? :( Ill buy it regardless though, might see if i can MOD a better grill in there (and at least run an exacto knife through the middle of that sticker) -
2016 Speed Champions Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Vectormatic replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Town
I can understand that, i havent seen it in the brick yet, but i think the general shape is pretty good, just the front that lets it down with the sticker grill, im kinda wondering if its possible to brick-build a better version Cant wait for these sets to hit shelves over here -
[MOC][WIP] Porsche 911

Looking good! Im still baffled by Porsche's insistence of having the engine hanging behind the rear axle though...- 29 replies

You can obviously up-gear an XL for more speed/less torque, but you will end up with a much bulkier package then an L motor, from what i understand the power (speed x torque) is pretty similar Im not familiar enough with the S-brick to help you there (the reportedly lacking android support keeps me away), but if you plan on controlling two L motors through the PF IR system, you will need the elusive v.2 IR receiver, which you can only buy through bricklink (it only came in the big rock crawler set) to run the motors at full power.

Id start off with just 42037 and RC-ifying it, that should give you a decent amount of work if you want to do it well, especially if you want to keep the original fake motor in there and connected up. I did the same with the 42022 hot-rod, although i had to disconnect the fake motor and turn it into a V4 rather then a V6 to get my servo in there. It was a great challenge. Also, id consider going for the L-motor rather then the XL, the L has faster revs, but less torque, which can be fixed with gearing, and is much compacter, but will drive something like 42022 (and id guess 42037) at a decent pace. As for 42039, i have been modding mine extensively, but mostly cosmeticly, i suspect that the model is too heavy to make a really good RC car out of, without chucking a whole lot of motors in there, a single L or XL will probably end up slow enough not to be all that interesting I think for getting into this sort of thing, going for a small chassis is the best choice, and 42037 is still interesting enough with independent suspension all around and a diff The one thing im kind of annoyed about is that Lego doesnt have a cheap(ish) model with road/racing tires and independent suspension below 42039, 42041 and 42048 have decent(ish) tires but no suspension, 42037 has excellent suspension, but off-road tires :(

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Vectormatic replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Tough call I got mine last year used for β¬45, and i am VERY happy with it (especially after learning Darth Malgus alone is worth that much), it is a very cool set But for β¬100... i dont know man, i mean it is a good sized set and all, but you can get 75094 for the same money, and i think that is a much better set over all (despite not owning it yet) Unless you REALLY want it, id pass it up at β¬100, lego MSRP on SW sets is pretty high as it is, and piece/β¬ is pretty bad on the set, and there are probably better buys out there. See if you can find a used one though, if you can get it below β¬70, it becomes an entirely different question IMHO. -
What non-UCS set do you think best depicts the original?
Vectormatic replied to kungapa's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Regarding the Tyderium, i will agree that it is a stunning set, and captures the look very well, IMHO it gets the orientation of the cockpit, and the relative size of the cockpit/body completely wrong. To be expected for a non-UCS set though, as there is no way you could fit any minifigs in a cockpit scaled accurately to the craft. Personally i think 75038 (and 75135 as well) capture the look of the Eta-2 pretty well, save for the lack of TARDIS slot to fit an R2 droid in there without it sticking through the bottom of the wing (seriously lucasarts, WTF) -
All my old 99-02 sets havent aged well imho, so i dont care for many of those, im mostly focussed on the newer stuff, so far my favs, in no particular order are: - 75083 AT-DP, such a beautiful beast, not very well articulated, and a bit too much yellow, but imho the best looking walker lego has produced - 9500: Sith Fury Interceptor, it is a bad megablocks ship, with a bad megablocks pilot - My custom 75038 based Darth Vader's Eta-2, i have a weak spot for the Eta-2, and 75038 is the best stock model, i just dont like yellow/ani, so i modded my own black Vader version, it is my favorite fighter

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Im not liking that at all, they basically built an A-wing shaped novelty blaster rather then an A-wing. Im not a fan of those new panels for the wings/fins either, completely inaccurate, they should've stuck with the brick-built wings of previous models. Looks like ill be MOCing an A-wing, or hunting down a cheap 75003 -
The Ghost microfighter Im quite impressed, it is quite big for an MF, holds quite a lot of big pieces (a 4x6 plate, four of the 3x1 step pieces), and has what i think would be a pretty popular minifig, quite a nice deal for β¬10, especially considering the franchise. The toy store didnt have anything else worth bothering with, just the most recent sets at MSRP, kinda meh

Hmm, that one looks pretty nice as well, no DRS i think, but it at least suggests some form of push rod suspession in the front, cant tell if there is a fake engine or any features other then suspension/steering though

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

I agree with the Assault comment, but if they locked yet another AT-ST into a huge expensive set they'd have an uproar among us Empire fans on their hands Thank god there is a seperate AT-ST set for release. -

Vectormatic replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
MSRP in my country is β¬110, the ISD was β¬130 Both could/can be found below MSRP, but for a set only β¬20 lower in MSRP.... Doesnt help that i dont care about the minifigs at all, if anything, i'll want to bricklink some imperial crew for it -
That is pretty damn awesome, love the inclusion of a gearbox 42000 still wins out by a narrow margin in terms of looks because of the suspension wishbones and pushrod suspension, but you cant fault a C-model for that This really pushes me back towards buying this set, ive been back and forth between technic and star wars for my next big(ish) set, and 8070 is what i had in mind for technic (or 42042)

Vectormatic replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Every time i see a pic of the Tydirium next to another set i feel doubt creeping up about buying it, it just doesnt seem big/impressive enough for its price, sat next to a star destroyer which is only a little bit more expensive. (and the small ISD at that, ive got the big one at home) -

So, three more Rebels sets to come in June, and so far we've only seen the Tie Vs A-wing set and the AT-TE, anyone care to speculate what the remaining set might be? The AT-DP, Ghost and Phantom got retired from last years wave -
[LDD MOC] Rebels Phoenix Squadron and Blade Wing
Vectormatic replied to TheNerdyOne_'s topic in LEGO Star Wars
Was about to ask this Id also like an LDD file for the A-wings, i kinda want a phoenix squadron A-wing, and chances of getting a cheap(ish) one from Lego are pretty small, so bricklinking a good design seems like the best option -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I agree itΕ unlikely, BUT, the A-wing in the big set is clearly Sabine's A-wing, they could theoretically just do a generic blue phoenix squadron one, throw in a generic pilot and some other minifigs and sell it for $30-35 (id love on). The A-wing currently is one of the most prominent ships on Rebels, after the ghost/phantom -

Vectormatic replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The Arquitens light cruiser is a good candidate as well imho, they could replace the now retired ghost with a blockade runner, and the assault carrier with an arquitens on the imperial side, once the carrier retires. -
That looks pretty damn good, much much much improved from the rather lackluster stock set.

That Z06 is a sexy car, might have to get it anyway, despite not being a fan of american cars. (and in turn, if i pick up the Z06, ill probably get the mustang as fell to fill out the wave of single car sets) The Audis are a must buy right away, less then four weeks to go! -

Well, that is awesome then, i look forward to adding it to my imperial collection, i hope they make it smaller then the AT-DP (as according to wikia, it should be ~75% of the size) -

Heh, id love a good AT-ST, but im not holding my breath, same goes for a boba fett constraction fig. Anyway, does anyone know when we will be some actual solid info rather then "i found this list on imgur" crap? -
Iv played a bit of Space Marine on the PS3, and man, i love the universe and art style (never looked into the tabletop game though) You moc looks awesome, and really captures the look and feel very well
