  1. Ah right, i was well under one page, which might have been why it is so fluent, old BL had some idiosyncrasies when working with lists of more then one page. It was all very intuitive and smooth though, here's to hoping they get the multipage thing under control sometime soon
  2. Hmm, it didnt do that for me, once i placed the items in my shopping cart for the selected shop, it removed those from the search criteria for new shops. I only had a 22 part list mind you, i tend to mostly just modify existing models these days, and group my needed part by purpose.
  3. I just hovered over the want icon in the top bar, clicked buy in the pop-up menu, select a wanted list, click find stores and BAM, off you go Only annoyance is that it wont remember i only want shops from my own country, but thats a minor inconvenience.
  4. New bricklink is amazing! The modding bug bit me again tonight, so i set about modifying my 42000 to a Ferrari F150 Italia look (given that the model itself is pretty close), and after rummaging through all the parts i have i still need a fair bit of colour swaps, cue new bricklink! I absolutely love the feature for ordering a wanted lists from several shops, the interactive highlighting, being able to set up multiple orders easily... love it.
  5. That new rear wing looks a lot better, and i see you sourced two extra curved blue panels, no more purple! Excellent build, i do hope (and think so honestly) you will win a prize in the contest!
  6. For some reason the porsche looks "off" in all those pics, something with the roofline doesnt sit right with me That RBR livery 42000 though Love the tumbler tires on it as well, shame they are still quite expensive, despite them showing up in the dragster set.
  7. It works the same way as the gearbox on the official porsche, its hard to put into words, but imagine a normal lego 4 speed, but instead of one selector for both driving rings moving in two directions, each driving ring has its own selector, which is toggled between both gears and neutral, the selectors are moved by a steering link, both steering links (one on each side of the gearbox) connect to single rotating axle with a 2 stud liftarm, but with a 90 degree offset. This way, when one arm is pushed all the way forward (selecting one of the two gears on that side of the gearbox), the other liftarm from the gear selection axle is pointing up (or down), pulling the driving ring into neutral. Cycling the selection axle at 90 degree increments, each time one arm is pointing front or back (selecting a gear), the other one is in neutral.
  8. Excellent build by Paul! Looks like it could even form a decent base for a 911 MOC with that rear flat-6, just pop on a body shell and there you go!
  9. Looks quite good! As for the rear wing, i think the horizontal wing is too low (my modded 42039 has the horizontal plane 2 studs below the top of the vertical tail fin), and the wing attachments to the body are too far inboard. Moving it up two studs and moving the side supports to the outside of the rear should clear up the looks As for size, its a bit bigger then i was expecting, based on the comparison with 42000, it is actually quite close to 42039 right? I do think the construction method of the rear hood is a lot better though (some pics of my modded 42039 for reference in the rear wing stuff) If Lego would bring this (or something similar) out as an official set i'd be running to the shops!
  10. Out of curiosity, why the custom engine rather then a lego fake one? This design doesnt look any smaller then a "normal" lego one.
  11. So a cayenne on steroids and meth then? looks very interesting!
  12. Ive got a decently modded 42039 http://imgur.com/a/SUTJN Function wise it isnt any better, in fact the doors are manual now, but it looks a LOT more like an actual LMP1 car then the original
  13. That is a tough nut to crack. Personally i think i lack the creativity to build my "dream car" and make it a proper porsche at the same time. (especially since i mostly dream of Ferraris :D) When it comes to dream porsches, i think a hot cayman (GT4?) comes closest, engine in the back, but in front of the rear axle, two seats and a nice sportscar around it. I have trouble modifying that formula without straying very far away from porsche's DNA. Or maybe a reinvented 924... that'd be nice.
  14. Ah got you, yeah, just checked rebrick.com, and the first entry on the list is a 917K which dates back to last year. From the names it looks like the original builder entered it, but it is indeed a bit low effort to enter an existing model, nothing more then dragging up some pics and filling in the form.. This could be policed to some extent by the first round judges, but only when the moc has been posted online before.
  15. Community voting/judging should take care of that, everyone on here will spot crowkillers porsche a mile away for instance.
  16. Looking good! How about placing the pullback KERS on the front wheels? that would return some type of 4WD to the model as well, but reduce the amount of gears between the pullback and the wheels. Will you be publishing instructions once you finish the build? So far this is looking excellent, and id love to build it myself
  17. Looking good! I really need some of those wheels, those are off of 42041 right? I wish lego made mode cars/racecars in this scale
  18. Im really looking forward to the results, im not a good MOCer myself, but seeing a bunch of these 919s designed will be awesome!
  19. Very cool! Dont get the hate for the A model though, its the best go-kart we've ever had from lego, both in terms of looks and functions.
  20. Very nice! i like the idea of the pullback reversible ERS, i had a similar idea on that as well, two simple gearboxes should do the trick (one for reversing direction, one for either linking the motor to the drive axle, or locking it down)
  21. Very nice! im not sure how the motorcycle tyres would work on a trackday though, you'd end up with an absolute tyre eater with electric power, and it would be one slidey beast, like 1950s GP cars.
  22. Hmm, i might try my hand at a pull-back powered cayman, no chance of winning, but its easily doable, and i dont have anywhere near the parts for a supercar scale entry
  23. Thanks for the feedback guys! Personally i really like the pull-back size, it allows for enough detail to make a recognizable vehicle, and there is something cool about having your build moving under its own power. Ill see about rebrickable, havent done anything like that before, and i might want to refine the back a bit more, as the difuser etc.. all is a tiny bit wobbly right now. As for the spoiler tops, i need to see if i have some of those 2 stud liftarms in red, as the tops of those spoilers are straight in real life, although bionicle eyes would look good as well, dont think i have spare red ones though
  24. So after a year of on and off MODing, i figured i should MOC something, and with le-mans again upon us, i felt inspired to build a le-mans car. For those not in the know, Toyota lost the race in the last five minutes, up to that point their #5 TS050 was leading the race, with a comfortable gap to the following Porsche. Then the engine went... So i've equiped mine with a pull-back motor instead, simple, sure to work, and it dictates a relatively small scale to keep my MOC clean and simple.
  25. I like the brake levers and footpegs, might have to work those into my own modded version.
