  1. Thanks Jim! Interesting to find out the way the blades/engine are driven, although im not a huge fan of the mechanism used (the tan gears on the bottom) Ill pick one up first chance i get!
  2. Jang (and others) have already found the smaller sets in stores, so im anxiously waiting for the first 42057 reviews to pop up, but nothing so far.
  3. Agrof, i missed your post first time around, but i love your ultimate version! I always though it needed a V8 rather then an inline 4, your version absolutely confirms that!
  4. 42039 and 37 were H1 2015 sets here, so they've lasted their 2 year life expectancy (but seeing how i only got back into technic at the end of 14, im not that used to the cycle yet), 42 was H2 15 over here, so they are around 17-18 months, which feels early for retirement... I have all the "must haves", but 37, 42 and a second 39 as a base for new mods would have been nice, hopefully i can still pick some of these up when money permits. On the plus side, with the 17 sets showing up in stores, reviews shouldnt be far out!
  5. Nothing on dutch S@H either, but all 2015 technic sets are marked soon to be retired :S I kind of feel bad about that, i wouldve loved a 42042, a second 42039 or a 42037 for the suspension parts, but none of those is in budget for the next two months..
  6. I interpreted those as ailerons, but yeah, seems like they are coupled to move in the same direction. Still weird, seems like a set this size should have a full set of control surfaces to me.
  7. Oh, i agree with that 100%, but then almost every non-trivial set that passes through my hands get some modification, there are always improvements to be made on the standard lego design
  8. The steering is easily fixed, there was a mod floating around on this forum involving a normal rack/cog setup
  9. I like the Jet, although the lack of elevators (rear wings) bothers me a bit, not sure how well a plane shaped like this would actually fly.
  10. HNNNG, that looks soooo damn good, especially compared to the stock tires. I was really hoping for 42050 showing up to seriously drop the price on those tires, but that hasnt really happened :( Im sitting here looking at a €50 bricklink order, just cant do it man...
  11. I would LOVE that But i think tumbler tires might be a bit small for a really big F1 car, im considering putting tumbler tires on my 42000 (but... €10 per corner for lego rubber is kind of insane), and that is a €100 set
  12. Yup, read the news today, immediately wondered if doing the engine/gearbox swap would be feasible on the GT3RS Has anyone modded their GT3RS to look like an RSR?
  13. I think it is a lego store exclusive generally, but some countries (like the netherlands) dont have official lego stores, hence we get the set at TRU, to give it some physical retail presence.
  14. Cool! Looks smooth enough, good to see the track geometry fixing that. straight line speed is a bit meh (but understandable, given IRs limited range), agility looks very good, quick turns!
  15. Looks good! what kind of motors do you have in there? Any chance of seeing an in action video to get an idea of the speed of the final model?
  16. Looks awesome! Could you perhaps post an LDD file? I would love to build this with a Niki Lauda minifig
  17. Could be, the bumpiness looks to me like a result of the tracks somehow, so different idler wheels could be a big factor. I dont have any big tracks (just the smaller modified chain stuff) so i dont have first hand experience. Either way, i'd expect lego to put out something better as a final product.
  18. Wow, looks bumpy and slow, and that is running on two L motors :(
  19. They can be very nice desk toys or small display pieces though, and this years display team jet was a godsend for those wanting white panels, 10 of em in a €10 set! I bought an extra just for the panels.
  20. Indeed, the €20-50 slot is entirely empty, and no replacement for the €10 cherry picker either now that i think of it... Bit of a shame since i mostly enjoy the €20-50 range sets, its understandable that the BMW is more then previous bikes (€30 and €40 for 42007 and 42036) but still a bit of a shame to see that segment so empty
  21. Looks like a decent approximation, but there are some key differences. The real model appears to have small wheels at the end of the side panels, and the two diagonal/horizontal winglets at the back dont appear to be connected to the steering mechanism, but static (at least to me), and the bottom of the tail underneath the motor and the steering linkage itself look a good bit different. The link between the main prop and motor is also debatable, but those arent visible on any shots just yet. And some short criticism, the "review" text fading in from bottom to top makes it hard to read quick enough before it goes away.
  22. Hmm, i put a single L in my 42022 mod and wasnt exactly blown away, fast, sure, but translate that to a tracked skid steer and id want more power then two Ms.. We'll see when it drops though, and this still is PF IR stuff, so limited range etc.. cant have an RC vehicle that goes out of controllable range within two seconds Which reminds me, i need to do some RC stuff again. Over here its €10 Vs €15 consumer price, good to hear a v1 receiver will work though
  23. the 42057 model does have a base in reality: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutan_VariEze Pusher prop aircraft are rare, but they do exist Dafuq? I didnt notice that those were Ms, seems like a pretty cheesy way to get AFOLs to shell out for more L motors, cant imagine this thing has race worthy performance with two Ms Also, wont you need one of those rare V2 IR receivers to run two Ls at full power?
  24. The BMW looks cool, not a big fan of the big grey boxes, but the single side swingarm and shaft drive are awesome. Hope the european price isnt too insane. The small helicopter looks lovely, thatll be my day one pickup from this line Also, new pullback motors? The new pullback racers look boring, but im curious about how they managed to get the 2 wheel motorbike working.
  25. Over in my country lego and shell had a promo each year where you would get small lego ferrari cars with each fill-up, i was under the impression the whole greenpeace thing was about lego promoting the use of fossil fuels that way.. Which pisses me the megabluck off, i dont drive one mile more for them, but i want my tiny lego ferraris!
