  1. Beautiful scene! The colors and textures of the walls are superb and the roof is one of the most ridiculously brilliant roof techniques I've ever seen. The base, cobblestone, vegetation and other details are nice. I can't quite make out all the fine details of the blacksmith's forge but the visible parts all look good. The use of the Pirates-theme rag hat looks better than I thought it would for this type of setting. But the roof...!! Excellent work.
  2. The two large rock formations and all the vegetation provide good depth to the path through the middle. The tree is unique - I don't think I've ever seen one quite like it. And the posing is good as usual. But I would like better views of some of the minifigs, the woman in particular. You've been busy creating all these scenes...
  3. I can only echo what has already been said: this is an incredible project. The architecture and colors are excellent and the details of the square are wonderful. I like all three buildings but the blue and tan on the right is my favorite. The folks on the top at the left sure have a nice place with a nice view. It's all so lifelike you could almost step onto the base and walk right in. Superb work!
  4. I gave this a higher vote (Friendstastic) than any other official set, ever. It's such a good design inside and out and the interior details are lovely. I must admit the hull pieces were the main attraction but many of the other pieces, like the dolphins, are good too. The price per piece may seem high but the large parts are mostly responsible. I like the set so much I bought more than one.
  5. Believe you me the angled windows were the FIRST thing I noticed - and they're very good. Then I saw the chainsaw! As a longtime Stihl user (029 Farm Boss, to be exact) I approve of this project. My only complaint is that the store is a bit sparse, otherwise it's very good. Nice work!
  6. Under most circumstances I'd say an all-grey build is *yawn* boring and dull - but you've managed to keep this interesting, aided no doubt by the story. The details, though sparse, are nicely done and the floor is playing tricks on my eyes. I especially like how you depict the trick doorway. Nice work!
  7. The overall design of the mill is very good. The walls are splendid and the roof and blades look nice. The base is rather basic and I'd like to see a little more detailing but that's a minor complaint. The loaded cart is a great feature and the presentation is very sharp. Good job building the scene to match the story. Keep it up!
  8. Due to the fictitous nature of BotBS, I wouldn't change anything just to fit the "standard" colors (red, blue and green). Your soldiers are unique and I suspect you could work them into any faction if you provide some reason for doing it (to quell any doubters). Still, it wouldn't hurt to get more input. I like the look of your soldiers and I'd hate to see them changed just to fit in - but other people may feel differently.
  9. It's a good thing Willy Wonka's technology never came to be or I'd just reach out and take that tree. The flowering canopy is simply beautiful and it looks far more realistic than most Lego trees - even the good custom ones. I've employed a similar sagging approach using only the standard leaf pieces but I never considered anything like this. I bought a bulk order of pink flowers on sprues and this is what I need to use them for. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Incorporating the dark intro scene into the big building is ingenious and the lit up floor looks great too. The exteriors are beautifully done as well and the swirling fire effect is marvelous. The colorscheme is nice and I like the vegetation and statue on the corner. Very good work and keep it up!
  11. Each level is nicely done and layering the colors produces a very good visual effect from rocks to subsoil to sand. The three levels really force the eye to pause and focus and the activity looks great while matching the original. The sharp presentation is an added bonus. Good work!
  12. Hmm. I have a hard time envisioning a bikini-clad beauty balancing on wet, slippery rocks and fighting a huge serpent that could come at her with both its head and its tail... but it's a nicely built and well-posed scene anyway! Custom dragons/serpents may be all the rage but the standard parts still look good when posed well. I wonder who or what she'll be after next? Get 'em, girl!
  13. Dzoni90, your question about BotBS factions is tough. The officers in blue suggest Oleon, but the guards/soldiers are tricky. They don't really fit Corrington or Oleon in that colorscheme - unless they're a special force or elite group. Honestly the soldiers look more like Eslandolia in that olive green color. Perhaps the best place for this discussion is the BotBS factions thread - include a photo of an officer and soldier, and let the rest of the group weigh in. Maybe you could get a more definite answer that way; at least the question will probably be exposed to a greater number of people. Good work and keep on building!
  14. I agree fully with Sir Phredit: 84 pieces does not a reasonable shipwreck make. And what is the pirate defending anyway? Two big gemstones? The set needs a chest full of gold and then the name would make sense, but a cannon isn't really suitable for a close, one-on-one fight. Not terrible but not great either.
  15. The scene is small but artfully done. The wall and carriage are both nice but the posing and all the flags create a festive atmosphere. I like all the high-stepping minifigs - they're really getting into the music. And of course the minstrels are portrayed well. Nice work!
  16. Artwork, plain and simple! Simply splendid. The color selection is very good but the textures and details really make it stand out. The ruins look extraordinary with the cracked wall and tree growing out the top and the water, while not exactly inviting, looks equally good in those well-laid colors. Excellent composition!
  17. I've commented on the individual modules, so let me just say that the completed scene is simply beautiful. Collabs rarely look so cohesive - it's hard to tell where one builder stopped and the other started. Excellent work.
  18. Excellent setting! The design, colors and textures are all very good. It looks smooth and polished and all the activity really brings it to life. The details like the trees in the barrels and the decor around the throne are nice. The base and border showcase this well and the round tower fills out the scene well. But for me the highlight is the main building - it just looks superb with the decorated arches and windows. Very neat and clean - keep it up!
  19. The thing of power looks cool but the tangled mass of people and their various weapons takes the cake. It reminds me of a maypole gone berserk - bodies going everywhere, arms and legs flailing wildly. Or maybe they've been watching too much American football... Anyway, it looks like it would have been fun to build. Nice job!
  20. The structure is fantastic with the different colored levels, nice wall textures and the lovely gold roof (although I see some of those round tiles suffer from inconsistent coloring, which might be acceptable on a roof but can be maddening in other circumstances). The base is nice and the activity certainly matches the story, but those instruments look a bit advanced! Good use of the CMF princess in her entirety. Excellent build!
  21. Yes, the dark red is nice - but it's the overall combination of colors that really makes it seem so powerful and imposing. The columns and roof frame the setting nicely and the object of power, while basic, looks pretty good. The activity within the scene is excellent. Nice build!
  22. The monument is somewhat basic but the light trans blue gives it a mystic feel. The shooting fire effect is nice and the posing is pretty good. The colors and textures are certainly unique. Nice little build overall.
  23. This all comes across as a bit macabre but it's a very impressive build anyway. The skull, crown and glowing eyes are excellent and the rest of the scene is good too. I too feel that a little more texture or polishing of the base and pedestal would improve the overall appearance but that's a minor complaint. The trans-clear swirling parts add to the mystic mood and the last two photos capture the feeling perfectly. Good job!
  24. The base, floor and internal structure are all very impressive and the posing is incredible. That combination of colors looks great as well. Nicely done!
  25. Beautiful palace! The architecture is very good and the open back is nicely done. I like all the columns and arches and the white top is good. Purple isn't my color but the roof looks great anyway. I like the layered colors - tan and grey just go together well, and all the white details are lovely. The fountain, flowers and statue really make it look inviting and the furniture is all very good. Excellent work and I'm ready for the full display!
