Brickstore Database
legolijntje replied to Blakbird's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Phew, a lot can happen in a short time when I'm not reading the forums At least it's good to know that you were able to use the BrickStock database in BrickStore, but still I would like to know why BrickStock doesn't work on your machine. I'm using it without any problems on Windows 8.1 Pro and with a non-default instal location. A few things that may cause the problem are already checked. Maybe you need to update (or downgrade) your version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable? I have no idea which version (2013, 2012, 2010 or 2008) you might need and I'm not sure if you need it at all, but you could at least try... -
Brickstore Database
legolijntje replied to Blakbird's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I recommend to try BrickStock instead of BrickStore. Brickstore is old and is no longer supported and updated. BrickStock is a fork (using the source of BrickStore) of brickstore. You could try if they fixed it in there -
Congratulations to all the winners! But, don't party too long! There's already a new contest

Announcement: MocPlans.com
legolijntje replied to nychase's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Uhm, the menu shows that there are 2 models for "free access", but the actual page doesns't show anything? And, the link to the V8-Engine also doesn't work? -
Smartphone mount
legolijntje replied to Balrog's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Haha, I'm constantly making smartphone mounts/holders/stands for my phone and tablet. Currently I've got one on top of my pc screen to use my phone as a webcam. I got a small smartphone stand to read stuff from the phone while sitting. I've got a bigger stand which can hold tablets and phones (and has a few features) and I've also got a (kind of) foldable phone stand for taking it on a trip. And, in the past I also had other ones. I'm constantly redesigning and simplifying those damn useful things -
So, i'm back from my holiday and it seems you guys were busy. I'll update the index soon!

I don't agree. As I explained in my post, it is easily possible to build the model without seperating the turntable parts. And, maintaining the blue submodel. Take a look at that blue submodel and you'll notice the 4 LBG pins. Now imagine that the submodel consisted of everything except the turntable part, you would only need to place the submodel over the turntable on the main model and push the 4 pins. I don't see how seperating a turntable could be easier than pusing 4 pins?

Thanks afol1969. Great work, as always. I did found a little weird thing in the instructions: on page 12 you add the bottom of a turntable and the top is attached on page 21/22/23. However, people generally don't have seperated turntable parts. To fix this, you need to add both bottom and top on page 12 and then on page 23 you add the blue beams from the subpart made on pages 21/22 without the turntable part and you attach the submodel using the 4 lbg pins on page 23. Other than that, I haven't found any errors. Nice work!

Yup, it's probably because of overlapping teeth. That's something I think they neew to improve to allow overlapping teeth for the sake of easiness while building. Like in SR3D Builder.

Porsche 918 Spyder 1:10
legolijntje replied to Porsche96's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That's a very nice model. And you made in in 2 weeks... really quick -
I don't think that is really possible. Sheo has made its instructions with LDD and taking screenshots. So, if someone wants to add parts lists per step or callouts, that would be a huge job since eeverything needs to be done manually. The only way to solve that is by making completely new instructions in LDraw and LPub and I think Blakbird has other things to do I have considered to do that, but I figured I can better spend my time on models that have no instructions at all If I had endless time however, I would've liked to create "better" (Sheo's are already very good for such a model) instructions. But, I think the same is for Blakbird, afol1969 or anyone else who regularly creates instructions.

Well, I got the chassis pretty complete (it only needs to be tested by someone). The body still needs to be done, but Dikke and I were both very busy last weeks, but I think work has calmed down again

That's certainly not a bad model! Especially since this is (one of) your first model in 20 years -
Technic 2H2014 Reviews
legolijntje replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Still, a lot of beans would fall out of it --- I actually like the B model. We should remember it is not a official set, but a official B model and so we should not compare it with set standards. Designing a good B model is very difficult and I think they did a very good job here -
It doesn't matter if you use the rechargable one or the AAA battery one. They are both the same (except that the rechargable one is of course rechargable and it has a speed switch). But, the only thing that matters is the size and they have both the same size. I always use the AAA one instead of the rechargeable one when I build someone's moc, because it's cheaper

[MOC] Swingloader Mark Two
legolijntje replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, I finally got a around building this model. And, as I expected it is an amazing model, both in playability and building experience. I always like to keep using 100% pure lego parts and although it is possible here, I decided to cut a diff. It's the first time in my life I cut a Lego piece (on purpose) I really like the model, and all your other models D3K. If I get the time, I'd love to make instructions for your mark 3 version Btw, D3K, it seems like you use these panels in yellow in almost every one of your mocs. But, they are actually quite rare and only came in 1 set. Quite annoying for the people who want to keep their models assembled (I don't so I don't really mind). -

legolijntje replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice! It seems I only miss a few pieces Btw, I could help with the instructions, if you need any help. -
It's just amazing how you were able to get the curve and shape of the real car so perfect in a medium sized technic car. My jaw dropped when I saw the images. Wonderful

This model is also on my build list for a looong time. The only problem are the Power Puller wheels. I have about 99% of the other parts. I don't want to spend like €100 for 4 wheels (I want 4, although you only need 2 in the model). So, I'm waiting for a good deal for either the wheels or a set with 4 of the wheels... The model is really nice though, and I've seen the instructions, and they are also very nice. A lot of work has gon into both

Why are you able to use the connected selection mode properly in the file and I don't? And, I only have the problem in that particular file, but there is nothing special in the file... This is getting really weird and especially very annoying But, do you already have the newest version of SR3D? EDIT: Well, I turned on error detection in the settings and now, when I load the file, it gives an error about a part and that I need to remove the line from the model. I removed the line, I opened the file again and it gave the same error about another line... I wonder how long this is going to take before the errors stop I don't know if removing the lines would solve the selection problem (I don't think so...). If so, it would be quite weird because you were able to use it without modifying the file...

[MOC] 6x4 PF Dump Truck
legolijntje replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I missed this topic. But, luckily I saw it this time. Because, that's a very nice moc. Your mocs are always very nice. Nice work again D3K But, the break in isn't that nice... What a bummer! I hope the computer didn't contain any critical data like photos or something like that, because it's worse to lose those than the pc itself... A laptop of my friend was stolen a few months ago and he had all his family photos on there... he also never backupped any photos...
