  1. That's strange indeed. If I remember correctly, I was able to export to a pdf and more people probably can (inclusive the author), because I don't think he/she wouldn't see that kind of bug... But, why would you need to learn to use POV-ray for the instructions?
  2. The results are here! Congratulations to the winners!
  3. Nice work. I would love to make a LDraw file of that.
  4. I heard some whispers too! But, it was not loud enough to hear what it said...
  5. After a long time of building, rendering, voting and counting, here are finally the results of the 2014 EB Digital Building contest. Before presenting them, we (me and Superkalle) would like to thank everyone for their entries, comments and votes. It was a great succes and we got a lot more entries than expected. And there were a lot of great entries too. If we had the money, we'd give everyone a prize. So, drummroll please.... here are the results: Free build category The 1st place goes to..... juraj3579 And the 2nd place is for... Brickviller And without prizes, but still something to be proud of: 3: draganb 4: kevin8 5: marv Micro category The 1st place goes to..... t-brick We only had 1 prize in micro, because we had to split the prizes between 2 categories. But, nonetheless, it's something to be proud of to become in the top 5: 2: The Lanterne Rouge 3: moctown 4: juraj3579 5: o0ger Rendering category The rendering category was voted for by the EB staff. 18 staff members cast votes, and the winner with 8 votes was papacharly with his gorgous rendering. Papacharly wins one of the digital LDD bricks or a SR3D Builder license. Shared second prize with honors goes to juraj3579 and bbqqq. Special judges prize The two final LDD bricks goes to bbqqq for his great rendering, and for constantly pushing the boundaries for rendering possibilities harton for his wonderful presentation with the three beatiful posters explaining the thought and ideas behind the building. TO THE WINNERS: You will get a pm soon.
  6. In this topic, we can't believe you that easily...
  7. I used it a few times in the past for a very short time. It didn't looked very bad, but I can't give a full opinion about it. I've used it for about 15 minutes in total...
  8. Nice review Blakbird. Everytime I see you making yet another MOC it makes me wish I had that amount of money to spend on Lego. Well, while I do get more and more Technic, there's always that 1 special part you don't have or that 1 part you don't have in a ridiculous amount. You don't have these problems, because you buy everything new again and keep everything build up But, it is a wonderful MOC. Madoca did a great job on the model and afol1969 on the instructions I don't like the black version though.
  9. Hm, that's strange that even when running as admin they don't work. Instead of using a file from the desktop, try runnung the file from the "my Documents" folder. And make sure all the settings in LDD2POV-ray have the correct paths to all the necessary things.
  10. Yup. Although, I try to notify everyone who has an invalid entry or invalid vote, but as you can see, some are still passing through... End the end, it's not my responsibility.
  11. Have you tried to run it as administrator?
  12. That's looking very good. I can't wait to see the final result.
  13. You can download bak318's file by clicking on the link and then clicking on the las thumbnail in the list with 5 thumbnails.
  14. Welcome Darats to EuroBricks and to the LDD&LDraw subforum Thanks for your contribution to the topic. And, although you're a new user, there's nothing wrong with your posts Nice renders too!
  15. Oh, I never knew that the set comes with a spare parts box. Nice! Thanks for the nice review
  16. Well, the problem is that LDraw files are compatible with, well, all LDraw based software (and that's A LOT!). However, LDD files are only compatible with LDD (and LDD2POVray). LDD files can't be opened in LDraw software. You can export the LDD files to LDraw files, by going to export in LDraw (and make sure you have the newest ldraw.xml for the best result). However, the result of that export can be pretty bad (not always), for example missing parts, wrong placed parts, wrong colors etc. Even if you would like to use LDraw software, you're still on a mac... And, the most LDraw software is only available for Windows. There is a LDraw modeling app that is specific for MAC (and also has a quite complete set of features) that also recently got a big update. It's called Bricksmith. So, LDD and LDraw are not really compatible with each other and the fact that you're on a mac makes using LDraw also a bit more difficult. But, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask
  17. Yea, maybe you're right, although the same "problem" can also appear in real-brick contest, where the great photographers may have an advantage. But, in a digital contest, it could be easier to to amke the same quality images (for example: "Everyone render with these settings!". Ah well, maybe it's also a part of a contest, presenting your creation as good as you can to gain the attention I'll take a look at it. Thanks! You're absolutely right. How could I make such a sentence?!
  18. The voting is now opened! You can vote for the free-build here and for micro here. The winner of the render category will be chosen by the EB staff (a small poll in the staff area). If you have any questions, feel free to ask
  19. There will be a long list of entries with 1 image per entry. The image links to the entry itself with more images. There will be 2 seperate voting topics for the micro and the free-build.
  20. Yup. The deadline was 15 april. The voting starts tonight or tomorrow morning.
  21. Entries Here is the list of entries. You can see the entry number, the author and the main image. The image links to the full entry, most of the times with a lot of extra info, images and the file (so you can download it and take a look if you like). So, please, click some links and look at the amazing buildings everyone has made. A lot of them have a lot more details in- and outside that you can't see on the first picture 1.
