  1. There are a few MOC reviews linked in the Technic Index
  2. That's strange, I was able to succesfully import files with deleted groups... Well, nice to see the update though
  3. I would recommend Brickficiency, it works very good and it saved me some money too There are a few tips and tricks to make the program work at it best, for example, if it struggles to find a solution, try to exclude the rare parts and calculate again. There are a bunch more, but if you have any questions, you can always ask them in the topic there
  4. Thanks Sariel! You made an little error though, in the end, you say something about the 8110 Unimog and that it has no electric elements. Well, it does, it has a motor for the pneumatic pump
  5. Well, you actually need to congratulate me with actually posting something As I said in the first post, I had an earlier version with suspension, but I didn't liked the looks of that one. But I'm probably going to build something else.
  6. Well, it's a long time since I last created a topic for a moc of me... I do build, I just never post anything But, this time, I do post something. And, as the title says, it's still a WIP. I don't even know if I will enter with this model or not, but it looks quite fun anyway So, first a little backstory. I didn't know what to build for the contest and all the main vehicles were already taken, like excavator, dump truck, supercar etc. (not that that's a bad thing, but I wanted something original). Then, I saw an old moc of me standing on my desk, a red Piaggio Ape and I thought, why not make a mini of my own moc? So, here's the original moc: And, here's the mini version: Personally, I don't really like it, both the looks and the functions. The model has only 1 function (except for openening doors and trunk) and that's the steering, but the only way to steer is to actually move the wheel itself An earlier version also had suspension on the back and the idea was to make a Piaggio-Ape van of it (so the suspension would fit). It worked quite well, but it looked even worse than this one. I also have totally no idea of the part count. I also don't know if the model is even allowed in the contest, because it has only 0.5 function (not counting the doors and the trunk), but it was fun to build But, yea, that's what I'm busy with
  7. Well, in the 70s and 80s Lego released some sets which were essentially the same, but had a different set number. Most of the times this was to differentiate the EU and US versions. This also happened in the first few years of Lego Technic, were all models had 2 versions, 1 EU version and 1 US version. The models were the same, but the set number was different.
  8. Well, I don't see any duplicates... Have you noticed the A/B/C model notes? EDIT: or do you mean same set and post with different set number? I did that on purpose, so people can find the right set, doesn't matter which set number they search
  9. There aren't instructions for it yet, I'm currently working on them so be patient
  10. Blakbird! Stop building all the models, you make me jealous! But, seriously, all these cars together looks amazing! Very, very nice collection! But, you can't make any more cars, because your table will be too small to take a collection picture
  11. Ah, I was already expecting these instructions. They look very good, as I would expect from Blakbird and you. Thanks to both for making these!
  12. Very, very nice review. The images and writing are excellent. Thanks a lot! As I said when the first images appeared, I like the back a lot, but the front (from where the cabin starts) is just plain ugly in my opinion. I'll probably get this set (on a discount as always, I never ever buy full price) since it's a nice parts pack. And, I can always mod the front to whatever I like; it's Lego!
  13. I just heard that Pixar is going to release a free version (for non-commercial use) of its rendering software Renderman. I never heard of it, but maybe someone here would like to try it out It's not new software, Pixar was selling it for a couple of years now, but there's a new free version now. more information here.
  14. There must be a reason you want that feature... I don't know the details about it and if it is saved continously or not, but you might be able to rescue an unsaved file from the .BAK file, unless you turned that feature off, of course. Again, I'm not sure about that, I have very little experience with the .BAK files, I have turned it off
  15. I can run it on Windows 8.1 without any problems. Maybe you should run it as administrator. Or, as Calabar said, in compatibility mode, but if it would work then, it would be strange because I can run it without problems.
  16. Yeah, I wanted to try it, but something went wrong with the link. If you look at the link, it's quite a funny error in my opinion
  17. Wow, that sr3d conversion feature is a great new feature. I'm sure that's going to be a much used feature for me Thanks for notifying Philo
  18. Blakbird! You're creating too many instructions lately, I can't buy them all and now I have to chose Is there a link somwhere where we can get more info about the car (the lego version)? But, I'm looking forward to the result
  19. Well, if someone could give a ton of images from the inside, I'd be happy to make an LDraw file
  20. It looks nice (as always ), but in my opinion the bricks are a bit too reflective and shiny. It almost looks like they're made of glass. Also, when you open both images in a tab and quickly switch between them, you can see that the one with the noise bump is a bit vague and lighter... I don't like that, it looks a bit washed out.
  21. And, I think the most annoying thing is that Lego doesn't say anything about it. Not why, not when and not if they will ever be available in North America. Lego has quite a good customer service and relationship with lugs and communities, but this time they keep their mouth shut like nothing is happening. That's not what I would have expected from Lego...
  22. You get a discount when you pay with Yap coins, so it will be 14,95 Yap But, about the model, it looks wonderful, but I suppose that was already a fact after all these years. This time, a lot of effort and time (I know how much time it can take) was put into the instructions by Blakbird and chase. And, let's not forget Jennifer of course, she built the original model. So, thanks all!
