  1. (This was actually my entry for the Modular Madness from my Lug, but I started to late to compete. So I gave it a Medieval twist for the AoM.) After Elon and his grandsons visited the Elves it was time to go home, to Valholl. This was a relief for grandma because she thought it was way to dangerous for the boys to be outside the cities' walls. Not all the Kaddries were captured and Black Spire soldiers were also spotted. So Elon showed Albion and Elijah some parts of the city. In this part of the city he showed were his favorite author lived and the location of a tax office. He also told about the history of the buildings, they weren't always this tall.... Phase 1 Phase 2 Phase 3 Interior tan house: Basement: Unfortunately Valholl isn't free of crime. Here you see a murderer who hides bodies in his basement. By removing the small staircase he could dump the bodies. Ground floor: His wife wasn't aware of what he was doing. First floor: But in the end all criminals get caught, especially when a Chorian is a man of the law! Second floor: Bedroom Interior olive green house: Basement: Food storage Ground floor: Valholl has a rich culture and part of that are writers. First floor: A guest warming up at the fireplace. Second floor: The bedroom and access to the balcony. Interior dark tan house: Ground floor: Every citizen has to pay taxes. At one of the tax offices you are able to pay your share. There's also a special room for storage and planning of the tax transport routes. First floor: Having a drink in the livingroom. Second floor: Time for an afternoon nap!
  2. Well I've finally started some AoM builds, and this is my Phase I Stables build. I received the white leaves as a Christmas gift and have been wanting to use them for a while. There are giant wolves in Mitgardia, and some have been captured and tamed to become formidable mounts: Any C&C welcome

    Chopping Wood

A quick build to get something else in before CCCXI ends for the "A Child's Life" category. A young boy works with his father and grandfather in a pine grove. While the adults cut down the trees and trim the trunks to length, the boy loads the cart for transport to the local village. I was hoping to get a full 6 builds in for CCC (and have most/all be GoH related! ), but working full time plus starting a masters plus the holidays conspired against me. This is also my first attempt at "fixing" not-so-good pictures with post processing. I'm fairly pleased with the results, but it took lots of help/teasing from one of my younger brothers who's a Photoshop genius. I'd like UoP credits for: Agriculture & Zoology - logging Anthropology - countryside scene Anthropology - life in Mitgardia Flickr C&C appreciated - now on to Book II Challenge 1!

    The Courier (Free Build)

I haven't posted anything in awhile but I've finally found time I'v had this finished moc sitting in the apartment since christmas, and finally had time to picture it It's basically just a scout of Graystar delivering a letter, so here it is This is my first attempt at a house, I think it turned out well I might use it as a template for my buildings in Graystar. It's also my first attempt at an angled build, All C&C welcome, more pics on my flickr
  5. [My first MOC for Historica! Learning to create interesting scenes and figuring out photography. All comments appreciated!] Clang! The sound of hammer ringing on red-hot steel fills the cold, clear morning air. Clang! The sound of Olin the Smith, son of a Bay of Storms merchant, preparing a fine sword here at his outdoor forge. Already this week, he has prepared several plain soldiers' blades, a mask for a helm, and a shiny new breastplate. He has to get up early to be so productive, so he rises before dawn to stoke the fires. As the heat builds it melts the night's snowfall, exposing the struggling grass beneath. Clang! The smith thinks of many things as he works. How is his father coping with the rebuilding efforts? Will Olin get enough customers at this out-of-the-way spot to earn enough money to go learn with the dwarves in the mountains? Why is he using this comically over-sized fighting hammer instead of a proper smith's tool? Why didn't he build some kind of shelter before setting up shop? And where did Sigrd, his horse, wander off to? Clang! Olin trusts that he will learn the answers to these questions on his travels, and many more besides.
  6. The first sight Elon's showing to his grandsons is Ebronahr, a barrack of the Ebronah. The general already expected them and is welcoming them with a meal. Elijah is eager to fight one of the Ebronah and Albion has made up lots of questions about the strategic location of the barrack. Welcoming Meal Beds Weaponry Overview

  9. Phase II entry for Age of Mitgardia Barracks. High in the Heavenly Mountains, accessible only by a mountain tunnel concealed and guarded by ancient magic, lies a secret training ground for the battlemages of Mitgardia. Alfgeir Dragon-Claw supervises the activities and manages admittance from his mountain cabin. C&C welcome! AoM - Stable Phase l

Hello, here I am again with an other entry for Aom challenge. This time it is the phase l stable. So Alfadas, my lord, send me to the North. I heard he send a few other men in the same direction, didn't meet them. It is freezing here. My job was to get a horse there, make it a stable with whatever material I could find. So far I didn't find any useful material, so the stable is still to be build. I was going to set up my camp out of the wind, but then my tent was blown away. Guess I will have to sleep very close to the fire then. And that's it for now. Hope you like it!
  11. Elon is taking his grandsons Elijah and Albion to the main city of the elves. To get there they've crossed the winter lakes. At the archery range Elon got Elven clan capes. Those capes grant him and his grandsons safe passage through the Elven territories. Putting targets on floes makes it a lot more difficult to hit the center. Especially when there's a lot of waves. . Elijah started sparring with an Elf which he drove into the water. Which made him very proud, because now he was able to tell everyone he defeated an Elf. Of course Albion was proud, but he knew the elf did let Elijah win. Elon getting the clan capes.
  12. A while ago, near the Avalonian border... Chaaaaarge!!! The Orc captain orders the charge at the last of the vikings from the Offnir-clan, a clan of vikings who worship the dragon Offnir, last seen hundreds of years ago. The vikings get help from a few local orc-haters. Who will win this battle? To be continued... EDIT: I now see the pics are a bit blurry, sorry about that. When I get home I will take better pics, or at least give it a try.

    AoM Tower phase2: Ziphion

Ziphion is protector of the southern borders. She has build several of these fierce towers. She may be a lady, but she knows how to build one of the finest watchtowers. Lady Ziphion and personal guard.
  14. Diary of Alfadas I have sent two men to the north a few weeks ago. They didn't know of my plans. I hope they did their job well. I want to build a town there, but offcourse you knew that already. Now I am going to the North with one of my men. Today we were ambushed by a few Cyclopses, and they cut off one of my legs. Stupid Cyclops. I cut off his head. Then I saw the captain, or I think he was, he was wearing a cape, the others didn't. He walked towards me and raised his axe. "This is it, now I die", I thought. Then the soldier I brought with me woke up from his blow to the head. He run to the Cyclops captain and killed him. So we now can continue our journey. My soldier, Olaf, cut down a tree and made me a wooden leg. Now I look like one of those pirates from the stories. The pain is bearable. That was the story, now the pics we all have been waiting for: Yeah, I know, I look like a little girl crying there, but hey, I just got my leg cut of. You would cry and curse and scream too. I know what they say about me, that I don't see danger when I meet him, and it is true. I thought I could easily kill them. You know what happened next. That is it. To be continued.... EDIT: Here I am with my new leg.
  15. See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga Chapter 1 Part 1: A Tragic Beginning Part 2: A Rude Awakening Part 3 Intro: An Evil Plot After leaving Northridge, Wyndor traveled south. It took him many weeks to traverse the land of Mitgardia moving from one ancient site of safety to the next. On the road he heard tell of the defeat of Victor Revolword and rumors of unrest across the land. He met many people along his way. Some of whom helped him, others whom he was able to help. Mayhaps these stories will be told one day, but for now we join Wyndor on the edge of Nocturnus. He has come to the final gate, just south of Hykerbia, before leaving Mitgardian territory. The gate was in a wall that stretched from the mountains to the sea. It was commissioned by the Jarl and finished shortly before his disappearance. The Jarl was quick to state that the reason for the defended gate was not mistrust of Nocturnians, but rather a desire to improve all defenses across Mitgardia. When he was asked why he started with this particular part of Mitgardia the Jarl had no answer. Wyndor had heard rumors of Mitgardian slaves passing through this area a couple weeks ago and came to try to find his lost brothers. He sold his horse to a trader named Otar. He was explaining his story to the captain on duty, trying to negotiate the opening of the gate. “Listen, I am the first son of Graham and a true Mitgardian! I have honest reasons for passing through this gate, as I have explained to you! Wyndor argued. “There is a civil war going on in Nocturnus Sir Grahamson and I will not admit a stranger through the gate at this time.” Responded the captain. “How many times do I have to tell you that I had no knowledge of such a war happening! I’ve been on the road for many weeks in search of my brothers. Now open the gate or give me better reasons for refusing to admit me!” Wyndor shouted. “It’s the wolf on your chest good sir,” spoke the stranger. “The sign of the wolf often means association with the Wolfpack.” “Well that IS news to me. In all my travels since Northridge where I bought this armor no one has hesitated to assist me before or accept my assistance.” Wyndor replied. “Well good sir, these past months have been in no way normal **muttering under his breath: perhaps he has lost more than time on the roads** Well never mind! My name is Steiner, defender of Fangnorst and the truest Mitgardian you will ever meet! **muttering under his breath: and if you meet a truer one I shall have to best him in combat to prove the error** I have sworn to protect all of Mitgardia!” Steiner began. “Well, this is a most unique person indeed,” thought Wyndor, “but perhaps I can use that to my advantage.” “Sir Steiner, it is a pleasure to meet so valiant a Mitgardian. As I was telling the good captain here, there is a Mitgardian being held prisoner in Nocturnus as we speak. Mayhaps I could recruit your assistance in freeing him?” “WHAT!” shouted Steiner. “A loyal Mitgardian being held against his will! Captain! By order of Steiner, defender of Mitgardia **muttering under his breath: and all who might need my help**, open this gate! “I only open it because I have orders to comply with your requests” stated the Captain. With a creak of the gate Wyndor and Steiner set off into Nocturnus. See more pictures at my AoM entry.

    AoM - Wall phase lll

So here I am again with another entry for AoM, this time it is the walls phase lll. Hope you like it, and I didn't use flash for the pic! Hope you like it, and let me know how the pics without flash turned out!
  17. Here I am again with another entry for the AoM challenge. This time it is the tower phase lll. Hope you like it, C&C are welcome! Here we are again, far in the cold north. I have found a large abandoned stone mine, so I went back to the tower to get my mate. When I arrived he was out of the tower (for the 2nd time in weeks). He was fighting imaginary monsters. I went to him and asked him to come with me to get stones for the tower. He said that he needed to practice his fighting skills more. I left him there and went back to the stone mine. I got as many stones as I could lift, went back to the tower and repeated that for about 20 times. I was very tired. I went to sleep. When I woke up, I saw that the wood in the tower had been replaced. I heard my mate making fighting noises. Still practicing, I thought, till I heard a weird scream. I jumped on my feet, grabbed my weapons, ran out and saw a couple of Cyclopses laying on the ground. One had an arrow in his back, another one had his head beheaded. I saw a dozen of them running away. "I don't think I want to be in the tower anymore, this is great!" my mate shouted. "Let's practice more!" Then he grabbed the head and put it on top of the flag. Here is the tower, now all stone. We are fighting on top of it. I love the tower now, just wish we had more food. Shot from above. He is a darned good fighter. One dead Cyclops. They made the noises we heard. And another one. The inside of the tower, with a fire. Another shot from above. We in front of the tower. That's it, our heroes did what their leader ordered them to do, build a nice tower and defend it with your live. Now all we need is their leader to show up at their tower and explain himself for the pointless order he gave. Hope you liked the story, but this isn't the end yet......
  18. My Collecting the Pieces build: Mikkel Winter-Stone was sent by Masa of Kaliphlin to retrieve a rare alchemy ingredient to aid in the resurrection of Dugal Maclean. In search of samples of Blue-Winged Stinger wings, his journey sent him to the great pine forests of southern Mitgardia. Retrieving the wings is tricky as Stinger venom can easily kill a man and Stingers are very territorial creatures. The crossbow came in handy, but after bringing down the Blue-WInged Stinger he needed, the only defense from the rest of the colony is speed... I built this mainly because I wanted to try out a big fir-like pine tree. I think it came out ok, though I'm not all that happy with how the top looks. But I ran out of both time and small leaf pieces. Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mrcp6d/sets/72157635735712074/with/9860952985/
  19. Two Norsemen introduce a couple Mitgardians to the clans' traditional summer Ice Haddock fishing activities off the Isles of Solitude. Ice Haddock serves as a protein staple in most Mitgardians' diets--fresh in the summer and salted or cold smoked in the winter--and as a major trade item with Avalonian and Kaliphlinite merchants. The Norsemen did not, however share that Ice Haddock makes excellent bait for luring in Western Sea Serpents... I've had this idea since CCCX and the MOC has been in work in some stage or another since probably April, but I finally was able to knock it out over the past few weeks. This is my first try a multi-level build, brick-built boat and a big honkin' monster. Let me know what you guys think, C&C appreciated! 20. I practiced with terrain slopes, and decided to put an entire castle around it. Here is the finished result. Alfadas Mandredson is travelling again, and this time he brought a few Mitgardian soldiers with him. Offcourse he needs somewhere to sleep, but he is not welcome everywhere. His reputation proceeded him and about every soldier in the castle was called to action. Hope you like it, and please comment! The dungeon with a captive orc and skelleton. And ofcourse the orc got a weapon, killed a guard and is chasing another one. O, and the dungeon is also used for wine. The guard is a rookie, so it is about the first time he sees an orcs, and will it be the last time? Another level down, the dwarfs. And what are dwarfs without some shiny gold? And another level down, the orcs. Give me my yummy chicken back! Ha ha, poking human is very fun! That's it. Hope you liked it!

    AoM - Wall phase l

So, here I am with another entry for AoM, Walls phase l. The wall. The back of the wall. There are some wooden things to stand on to look over the wall. The wall from above. I know it is a bit blurry, unfortunately I took the wall down, so I can't take better pics. Sorry. The wall from beside. I know the Mitgardian flag is half plant, simply because I wanted a flag, but don't have a light green flag. So the plant will have to do for now. The two vikings guarding the wall. Comments are welcome, so I can upgrade it to the next phase!

    AoM Stables phase1: Surprise

Surprise Camels are no match for Naioths. They are fast, silent and can jump from heights. So no wonder the Elves are using them and being in their own habitat, it doesn't take much to surprise this Mercenary. (credit to dG for first using the Tauntauns in Mitgardia!)
  23. Here we are, in the far north. Far from any civilisation, for no particular reason other then to please our Lord. Objective: build a nice outpost there, and defend it with your life. Well, I hope he calls us back soon, here is nothing to find then snow, snow and nothing but snow. And man, what is it cold here! I don't have much problems with that, but my mate here has. At night we here a lot of scary noises, so I think we are close to a nice fight to warm up our frozen limbs. That's me, guarding the tower. And that is my mate. He doesn't do much else then getting his feet burned by the fire and eating our supplies. At least we have wood to burn and nice ale to drink, if it isn't frozen. And behind that are my weapons, in desperate need of blood! That's me again, standing guard in the harsh wind. And yes, that is a plant as the Mitgardian flag. My nice friend was cold so he used the green as a scarf. Here we are again, me with armor and bow, beside me my mate with his chicken leg. By the way, that was our last meat. Now all we have left is ale and wood. Lovely. Hope we get supplies soon, or at least find some orcs to slay. I'll be back soon! All comments are welcome, and sorry for the blurry pics. (Please no comments on the pics, just on the moc itself). The pics are better now, right?
  24. A tricky shot As proof of skill and having no fear, targets gets replaced. Poor apple, or poor... .
