  1. One of my entries to the Episode VII of SoNE, check out the complete story in this thread. So they got back to their ship and programmed the coordinates of Ord Mantell into the board system. Puh, do you smell that ? That is really disgusting... but look over there. Looks like on of these bounty hunter hideouts. Get off my lawn !!! Calm down, we are searching for Boba, have you seen him ? No, I can't remember anything. Maybe some credits would help me to think about it. Hmmm, sounds fair, doesn't it ? Don't waste our money on that scum, we are going to find him on our own... stormtrooper-like !
  2. And now for something completly diffrent ... Part III: Searching on Felucia Indeed, Boba Fett wasn't on Ord Mantell, so Monty, our brave hero went searching on very strange, yet beautiful planet - Felucia. Felucia is planet full of diffrent unusual plants, usually in strange colours, which you wouldn't expect to see in jungles. Many of them are very beautiful, but there're also some very dangerous and big, some of them even that big, that can eat a whole Wookiee. But there aren't just dangerous plants, but dangerous beasts like Rancor, too. But Monty and Rog didn't travel half of universe just to deal with botany, they came to find that old scoundrel, Boba Fett. -Monty, pal, I think Boba isn't here. Since we're driving here for hours and ... -... Since Felucia is also known for Rancors..., I know, Rog. We're leaving this botanical garden at once. To be continued ...

    [SoNE ep. VI] Hazard Pay

Officer: Pilot, you are needed for a Patrol mission over Ord Mantell. Gallardo: Sir, what am i paroling for? Officer: this is a special mission from Lord Vader, you are to fly to the surface and look for any indication the Bounty Hunter known as Boba Fett, is still on the planet. Gallardo: Understood sir, if i should find this hunter what is the objective? Officer: umm.. tell him Lord Vader says "Thank You" Gallardo: affirmative, *chuckling* does this come with Hazard pay? Officer: Yes actually, and if you are successful in delivering the message you will have the freedom to chose your next deployment. Gallardo: Yes sir! i will leave immediately! *Patroling the war torn Surface a ship matching that of Boba Fett's is spotted* Gallardo: Star Ship Firespray, Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Star Ship Fierspray, i repeat Identify yourself! Firespray: ------ Gallardo: Command, this is Imperial Patrol 300418, I'm in pursute of a Firespray class ship, its not responding, what are your orders? Command: Do Not Fire! this is a peace mission. follow that ship, Boba Fett is notorious for not responding when spoken to. Gallardo: Affirmative, pursuing unidentified Firespray class ship. the Junk wall, notto be confused with rocks, i wanted the appearance that this was a cliff made from ancient structures, ships, and who knows what else, with the possibility of collapse at any moment. imperial hallway, simple efficient and clean I had quite a lot of fun with this challenge, below are a couple pictures showing the scene in full and how it managed to fit in a 16x16 box! (barely) Changes from original: Base has been redone to remove the white, and to clean up the presentation. Rusted junk wall/rocks have been redone to minimize floating bricks, this wasn't completely achieved due to my small assortment of browns. check the spoiler below to see the originals. over all it was minor changes. Hope you enjoyed this episode! and Constructive Criticism is welcomed!
  4. After weeks of walking round in circles and trying his best to put up with troopers 27491 and 44783 constant arguing about the rarity of certain plants and flowers, Lord Tyrus couldn't find any evidence of Boba Fett and if he had actually landed, it would take a completely insane person to stay on Felucia for more than a couple of days. Lord Tyrus decided stopping on Bothawui to try and find him. He was fairly skilled with computer and holo tech, and he planned to find a fairly empty, out of the way spy centre so he could quietly hack into the many satellites and cameras traced on the planet's landing platforms to see if Boba was parked there. He needn't have worried, as the whole planet was dotted with spy centres. Apparently the planet was a galactic 'hotspot', which made the thousands of aerials and dishes work so well. He found an older centre, built a few hundred years ago, when people actually bothered to build nice buildings rather than big concrete squares, and checked to see that no one was around. There was one Bothan, presumably the caretaker, who was sitting under a leafy tree. He was asleep, with a large bottle of Bothan rosé in his hand. Apart from him, the place was empty. He continued up the stony path, only glancing at the caretaker's veggie plot, before he pressed the button to open the door. He walked through it, with trooper 27491 behind, but didn't know 44783 wasn't with him. If he'd have looked behind, he'd have seen trooper 44783 sneakily grab the bottle and slip it under his arm... Once in the building, he walked passed the door to the caretaker's quarters and into the tech room. It didn't take him long to find out that Boba had landed a few days ago, on platform 3379. He also discovered that the bounty hunter had left just hours ago, on a trip to Ord Mantell. "Here we go again..." He murmured. Can a mod please remove the bit saying '...and the best bothan' in the title.
  5. What an absurd mission we’re on. Giving a “thank you” card to Boba Fett. Has the Empire really lost its mind? But I won’t complain. For once, we’re on a peaceful mission with a positive vibe to it. For once, no killing, voluntary or involuntary, on purpose or by accident, significant or insignificant. Just crossing the galaxy to say thank you. It’s a pity that such a nice act comes forth from a whim of insanity. But a lot of beautiful things are born in disease… “We’re approaching the surface. Landing gear stand-by” The Sentinel-class landing craft I’m piloting has one of the few cities at the surface of Mon Cal as destination. This planet is probably the easiest one to find the bounty hunter, since I don’t see that craft of him going under water. So only a troopers were needed per city. [soNE Ep. VI] 1 - When did the killer become the hero? by Bert.VR, on Flickr They’re in the back now, talking. They seem quite excited. Not only to be practically on leave. Not only to visiting a nice peaceful planet (and way better than looking for droids in the desert). No, most of them seem to be excited to meet him. “Have you heard he has tamed a Wampa to be his pet? Really. Or that all of his pillows are made from Ewoks? Really. Or that he once killed a Gorax with nothing but a mouse droid? Really. And o, that mouse droid! Did you know he stole it right from under Vader’s nose? Really. Really, that man can do anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if he survived getting eaten by a Sarlacc…” “Yes, he can do anything…” (that one wasn’t much of a talker) “But he’s quite frightening too. Who knows what his next target will be. Maybe my head will be the next trophy on his shelves, in between the pink of the ambassador of Alderaan and a tooth from as space slug (that he killed because he helped captain Solo escape)… Maybe I don’t want to meet him after all.” “Are you mad? You’re might meet the most feared person in the galaxy – after Lord Vader of course (you never know who’s listening) – and you want to run away in fear. You don’t make sense.” “Yes, imagine meeting the man who did all of those great deeds. I think I will faint.” It just keeps going on. They seem Fett’s personal groupies. And for what? What has that foul bounty hunter ever done to become such a hero? Sure, that Wampa, Gorax and space slug stuff… But since when did a killer become the hero? Is murder the new cool? He might be skilled in what he does, but so is a trash collecting droid. He’s just a diva. I hope the others will see that when they meet him, but I’m asking too much of them. Let them adore him. What harm will it do? Let them adore the killer instead of becoming him. Let us all enjoy war instead of making it. It are our deeds that define us. I feel lacking. What are my deeds? I have only done things I regret. Do I regret myself? I wish those deeds never took place. Should I stop to exist? Isn’t there more to me than my deeds? And what more can there be to that bounty hunter? He has done enough deeds. But does that make him superior to me? “Stand by for landing” Let’s just give him the card and let’s go. _____ LXF File here. The whole thing actually fits on a 16x16 plate. It is build in such a way as to stand upright, and there's no limitation on height [soNE Ep. VI] 1 - The proof! by Bert.VR, on Flickr And I know, it looks bigger on the inside. And it looks ugly on the outside...
  6. Donnie: When you said we were heading to Ord Mantell I pictured us trekking through endless junkyards... Good call on checking the casino too! LegoFjotten: Yeah, I figured odds are Boba Fett is just as likely to show up here as in some random junkyard. Let's hang around a few hours and see if he shows up. Of course we will need to blend in, so let's get started on one of the tables. Donnie: Good thinking! The band is pretty good too... LegoFjotten: ...and check out that dancer. Youwza! Donnie: I gotta say... bringing the wookie was sheer brilliance... a sure way to beat the odds! Chewbacca: RAWRGWAWGGR Boba Fett: Yikes! I know that wookie, better get the heck out of here...
  7. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The team that was sent to Ord Mantell had finally been able to locate the smugglers' refueling station in the middle of a large junkyard. As the smugglers' activities were of no interest for the team, it was only the information what mattered. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - "What do you know on the location of a bounty hunter named Boba Fett?" - "Who? Boby Fiatt? Haven't heard of the guy with such a name." - "Don't you try to play with us on that. We know that he was on Ord Mantell, and we've located the ship leaving this sector. We already told you that we are not interested in your little business here and we shall leave as we arrived: quietly and with no other questions asked... unless you decide to keep the information we are looking for undisclosed. In this case we 'd have to stay here for a little longer. And you wouldn't want that to happen." - "Sir! The refueling station mainframe on the lower level shows that the Slave II was exactly here three standard days ago." - "Anything else to add you have?" - "So... The Fett, huh. He 'd been here a while ago. You 've missed him for a few days, actually. Always thought you rebels are quicker in such matters." - "Have you got any information on his final destination?" - "Ummmm... not really. He uses this place only to refuel. The only thing he told was something about Felucia... and the information on the scanner shows the direction of his hyperjump towards there as well." - "It seems that you may tell truth on that... Unfortunately, there is no new information here. However, as we promised, we will leave now." -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Overview of the location. The base is located underground. One of the entrances is marked by a wreck of an AT-AT leg directly above. The lowest level houses the refueling station mainframe, directly above it are the walkways and one of the computer terminals. Directly above the entrance, on the carcass of the AT-AT leg the smugglers had installed a satellite dish and small platform. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Some technical specs and extra comments: The base is 13*13 studs, and the overhang there brings it to 14*14. On top, where the rock piece is, it is 15*15 in the widest spot, And there is some (small) overhang of the AT-AT leg's "claws" on top of the rock. I've always wanted to build a proper size AT-AT, and this leg was staying on the table for a year now already, but I didn't move any further with the construction since. Even been thinking of disassembling it ... but luckily didn't do that. The moment I've red the task for this episode, I new what will be put on top of that.
  8. My first mission with my new unit and we ended up on the strangest planet, with plants like nothing I had ever seen. We had been walking for hours and I was struggling to keep up with the rest of the team. The look that the sergeant gave me whenever I lagged behind made me think he would rather leave me behind to be consumed by one of the giant fungii. Thankfully the vegetation seemed to get a little less wild as we reached the co-ordinates we were heading for. My orders were clear; stay out of sight behind the large tree and don't do anything else unless told to... The rest of the team took up positions around a small cave, where the bothan intelligence had said a lone figure dressed in Mandalorian armour had been seen coming and going. Catching a glimpse of his helmet they charged in hoping to catch him off gaurd. Sergeant Diggs seemed even less happy than usual when the team realised that what they had seen was just an empty helmet on a pole, left to scare away any unwanted visitors. It turns out it didn't even have belonged to the character we were looking for, Bobber something I think the Sargeant called him. It did it's job though as we were ordered away in case the place was booby trapped. As the others muttered about Bothan intelligence I was just glad that we would soon be leaving this strange place.... 9. I've been wanting to do a fairly large ship for Goatm for a while but I didn't quite have enough bricks to do a SHIP. This, however, is 40 studs long and definitely inspired by some of the great builds I've been seeing in progress on Flickr. Everything is to minifig scale. There is a large hangar, small cabin with bunks just up the ramp, and an elevator leading to the flight deck. This is a very simple ship because it is only used for quick missions to steal tech, assassinate targets, or disable capital ships. Once fired from an ISD, this ship latches onto another ship, tears open the hull, and unloads the boarding party. A large turret is mounted on the back of the ship to fend off enemy fighters once attached. Tie fighters can also be attached to the hull for deployment and cover on long distance missions. Goatm's flight crew is protected by heavy armor plating and a low profile atop the ship. Here, the boarding crew ready themselves in the hangar. Goatm has collected a rag-tag group of heavy hitting pilots to do a smash and grab on some Rebel starfighters and destroy the capital ship behind them. The mech is an experiment using a rapidly aging clone. Below is how the hull can be removed for loading larger starfighters. The gunner has to have great abs for this job. Bonus pic and main reason I designed the hangar the way I did. Does anybody get the reference? Don't worry, Goatm doesn't get shot at the end of this one and that Rebel doesn't have any ears to cut off. [soNE VI Freebuild] 6-4 - Ram, stuck in the middle by goatman461, on Flickr I would like for this freebuild to be judged, but no rush, I don't need the points for Episode VI. C & C greatly appreciated.
  10. Episode VI - The Hunter becomes the Hunted (Part III) After a successful mission on Endor, the construction of the Shield Generator was finally put back on track. Much blood was spilled, many Ewoks were killed, and many habitats were razed in a record time to make way for the Shield Generator. However, there has been growing sympathisers within the Imperial ranks towards all things sentient, that found Pointblank’s methods extreme and ruthlessly efficient, and made several complaints towards the Imperial command. Pointblank was relegated to performing unofficial sideshow tricks and duties, but his recent actions on Endor did catch the eye of the more reclusive Imperal Survey Corps. Many missions came and gone with relative ease. Just today, a mission came up personally marked “For your EYES only” to PointBlank through the ranks from Lord Vader. This particular mission has roused the attention of PointBlank, only because it involves the hunt for the undoubtedly the greatest bounty hunter of all time – Boba Fett. The mission was to deliver a “Thank You” package to Boba Fett, from Lord Vader. The package came in a nicely wrapped unassuming box, and Pointblank’s surgically enhanced senses did pick up a soft ticking with the package. Not known for his inquisition, but known for his no-questions non-subtle way of performing duties, Pointblank disregards it and sets out to look for the fabled Boba Fett. On board of Intolerance 2, Pointblank has manage to track Boba Fett to a secret hideout on Ord Mantell and quickly learnt that he may soon make the jump to Mon Calamari. However, he quickly found out through all the chatter in the bounty hunter channels that Pointblank is not alone in delivering a package to Boba Fett, and this has set Boba Fett on high alert and keeping a low jittery profile. That also meant that trouble may be expected in Pointblank’s quest to delivering the package. “Finally, I get to have some fun” Pointblank thinks to himself with a grin. =========== Part 1 - Ord Mantell Aftermath: Ord Mantell was a waste of time, and Boba must have been alerted by the Imperial Crew and fled Ord Mantell. Part 2 - Mon Calamari Aftermath: The stun gun was spot on but wasn't effective against Boba Fett's personal shield generator. He was expecting trouble and had it turned on at the first sign of danger. Somehow, Boba Fett managed to detect the atmospheric entry of the launch pod, and was at the ready when Pointblank appeared. Pointblank thinks to himself. "Maybe Grand Inquisitor was right. As a special operative, perhaps a little subtlety and disguise is in order." Part 3 - Bothawui Main Story: Bothawui is the last known stop that Boba will make, and the last chance that Pointblank will ever get in delivering the note. The Bothawui system is filled with Spies and Rebel Cause Sympathizers. It will be hard to get around as an Imperial Agent without being noticed a mile away. Changing into his regular clothes, Pointblank enlisted the help of a female bounty hunter as a companion to blend into Bothans' community, and approach the hideout and location of Boba Fett and a suspected Rebel Intelligence Outpost. Pointblank managed to hack open the front door, but must have triggered a silent alarm as a Bothan Guard appeared in the overlook above. Unclear whether to engage, or to retrograde from the mission, Pointblank calls his commanding officer for advice. Continues below ... Main Picture The design of this build was inspired by pictures at star wars wiki sites that depict Bothan structures are majestic similar to rich persian eras, but ridden with high tech spying and communication technology. That has allowed me to create cauldrons, the use of clear glass and stepped tiles, with a more uniform look in the main building. The communication technology is depicted in the large radar dish which also allows me to create an underground intelligence outpost. Being secret and all, I have incorporated Lego LEDs lights into the construction of the underground outpost, with the battery box hidden behind a rock structure and disguised as a generator. All done painstakingly to keep within the 16x16 challenge requirement. - Pointblank communicates with his commanding officer via holo-pad communicator about engagement protocols and advice, as a Bothan Guard confronts Pointblank, overlooking from a perch high above. - Boba Fett attempts to escape through an underground passage with the data plans. - A trooper working in an underground intelligence outpost, looking at a screen of how the Shield Generator is deployed around Endor to protect the Death Star. - A close up view of trooper working in chair in an underground intelligence outpost. Notice the LED lights fitted into grilled ceiling. - A trapdoor play feature to access the underground chamber. Just for fun Notes: This is a first time I am incorporating Lego LED lights into a build. This is to better illustrate (and illuminate) a hidden secretive outpost below the main Bothan compound. I have hidden the battery box and wires into the build (as shown above) behind rock structures, with a side opening to access the switch. Tubes protrude out of the battery box in order to portray a generator of sorts, with a cheeky pickaxe and a lamp. Last but not least, I would like to give thanks to Mstrofppts for giving me the idea of using Splinter as a Bothan. I was contemplating using a Chima figure, but was way too cartoony for my liking. Splinter was a much better choice. As usual, comments and criticisms welcomed. ====================================================================== Edit: At requests from Aland, I have incorporated some night shots to further enhance the storyline. Story Continuation (from above): Pointblank's commanding officer has instructed to not stir the hornet's nest and advice for Pointblank to try again another time. Under the cover of Darkness, Pointblank infiltrated the Bothan compound and managed to find the intel outpost, and disable the Rebel Trooper. Alas, He was too late. Boba Fett has already left the building. "I need to report back HQ at once" " Hope you like the lights " Note: I did some minor modification to the flames cauldron in order to insert the led lights under them. 99% of the build remains unchanged. - A close up view
  11. Upon arrival, I went to an old buddy of mine, who happens to be in the business of knowing everything that's going on around him. If anyone knew where Boba was, it would be him. Hey, Wetz! Grahaym? Hey! What brings you to Mon Calamari? I'm looking for someone. A bounty hunter called Boba Fett. Yeah, I remember him being here. Refueling, I think. Is he still here? Sorry, but no. He got caught up in a fight and the other guy didn't do so well. He took off pretty quickly keeping his destination a secret, seeing how the guy's friends weren't too happy about what happened. I see. Well, thanks anyway. Looks like I'll be heading back to the Redemption. And a quick additional shot of the rockwork hidden by the platform:
  12. I received in-tell that Boba Fett was going to Ord Mantell after Fondor. Knowing that many of my fellow Rebel comrades were already on Fondor conduction a thorough search, I headed straight for the junkyard-ridden planet in the hope of cutting him off. Keep movin', kid. Just 'cause I only got one eye don't mean I can't aim. I'm not looking for trouble, just information. What kind of information? I'm looking for a bounty hunter by the name of Boba Fett. I heard he was here. That kind of information 'ill cost ya. Here. This is all I got. Now, is he still here? Nah, he took off yesterday. To some place in the Outer Rim. Felucia, I think. Felucia? Hmm... never been there before. Outta be interesting. He won't be there anymore, though. Oh? He was only goin' to be there briefly. If you wanna find 'im, head to Mon Calamari. He'll be there refueling. To Mon Calamari then.
  13. Secret Shipyard on Fondor for Intolerance Ver 2.0. After the Battle of Yavin, the Galatic Empire seized control of Fondor and its shipyards. When the Emperor ordered the Executor to be built by Fondor Shipyards, Kuat Drive Yards (KDY) was very displeased as it was responsible for most of the Empire's fleets before that. Fondor gave all of its time and resources in constructing the SSD. However, very few know of another reason why the Empire shifted ship construction exclusively to Fondor. Whilst the Executor was constructed on Fondor, the Imperial Department of Military Research (IMD) secretly commissioned some of the resources on Fondor into the construction of Intolerance v.2 to improve on several combat areas, including a sub class 1 Hyperdrive, better weapon loadout, better defensive capability, increased (+2) fighter capacity, larger command bridge and a large hangar capacity to house ships and mechs for varied classified missions. This is off the back of a very successful test of ver 1.0, which was constructed largely to test its stealth ability and speed. This was constructed and build in utmost secrecy, and because of its relatively small size (380m in length), it was concealed from most of the Imperials, and was unknown to the Rebels. The below was a capture of the launch facility and the Intolerance ver 2.0. The old version 1.0 can be found here . ======================================================================= Footnote to the above pic: there is actually a troop loader towards the front of Intolerance loading up Stormtroopers. If you squint, you will see that Pointblank was amongst them Comments and Criticisms welcomed as usual ------------------------------------------ Please judge this for SONE, as I would love to get another official entry on the back of this FreeBuild .. .. For the Empire!
  14. My 3rd SoNE Ep. 6 Freebuild... For every hard working, upstanding imperial officer there is another ambitious, soulless, arrogant brass sucker playing the political games and making their way to the top. ISB Agent Goatm An 46-1 has no problem with certain ambition. Striving to be the best, to win victories for the Empire, to command a great army as you see fit, these are good ambitions. But the weasels who step on their colleagues to rise to the top, who send countless troopers into suicide missions for their own glory, who sacrifice their mission for political gain, these men must be destroyed. They rot the Empire from the inside, infect the chain of command with their incompetence, and hand victory over to our enemies. This is why Agent An does what he does. His military career has meant the death of many of the worst individual that the Empire's power so readily attracts. Below, an Royal Guard found An's justice. Imperial engineering does not recognize many safety features and Goatm has taken advantage of this fact many times over. [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 1 by goatman461, on Flickr [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 2 by goatman461, on Flickr [soNE Freebuild] 6-3 Push 3 by goatman461, on Flickr After the guard fell to his death, Goatm noticed a strange laugh coming from the elevator behind him. He knew that the Emperor had not seen him throw the guard over the railing as he passed, so why the laugh? Maybe it was time to visit the Outer Rim and make sure that this incident blew over in the meantime. For more hilarious antics of Goatm, check out Watto's Junkyard, specifically the Episode VI builds. Please judge this build. C & C is very much appreciated.
  15. After we visited the droid dealer in the junk lands on Ord Mantell, Blax requested that we head to the casino district to follow up on a lead on Boba Fett. The casino district was buzzing with aliens of all kind. I'm not sure this is best place for Alliance troops to be seen. Hopefully this lead is worth the trouble. Time will tell. Please judge this freebuild -D

    [SoNE EP. VI]

EDIT: Damn editor! Please if any Moderators can add the title, I will be very gratefull, sorry! Here we are with my final entry for SoNE Episode VI: With the help of the Bothan Spynet... C&C are always welcome, and I hope you Enjoy it, now let's the story talk! Another step for Wedge09's squad: after failing on Fondor and Ord Mantel, the rebel squad came to Bothawui, home of the biggest spynet in the known galaxy to search for help in the quest for Boba Fett and the Slave I. Even if Bothawui was a neutral ground for Imperial and Rebel Intelligence and the Imperial presence was minimal, the rebels didn't want to draw any attention on their activity and as quietly as possible they reached an hidden data center. There they were greeted by the Bothan in command of the security of the data center "Welcome on Bothawui, Sir. Your visit was unexpected." "I know, but this is a priority mission." "What needs the Rebel Alliance?" "We want to know if Boba Fett is here, or if he spent some time on the planet recently." "I will see what I could do." the Bothan motioned to a Bothan officer who accompanied them in the depths of the data center. "This is the technician who will help you in your search, he will do everything possible; if you have additional needs, please call." the Bothan officer left them as the technician sit and the search started... A few hours later, the Rebel soldiers and their Bothan counterparts met again and the technician, results at hand, spoke "I searched as you requested Soldier Wedge09 and I find what you wanted: the Slave I was here, as Boba Fett. Their last sign of activity was at Drev'starn's Spaceport, they remained here for some time but we lost trace of them. However, we can infer that they have abandoned the planet as confirmed by some satellite readings of a ship of a very similar shape; we can also try to guess a possible destination..."
  17. The second to make contact was Karin. She was sent to Bothawui on a espionage mission. We knew that Bothans are very close to rebels, so sending a pack of stormtroopers there might be a suicide mission. Of course for a reasonable price we have some reliable contacts there too. Karin: I've met the contact you told me about. MstrOfPppts: And what is the status? Karin: Boba was not yet here, but is certainly planning to stop here for a quick refuel. MstrOfPppts: Good, you should lay low and wait for him. Give him the card and get out of there. Karin: Understood. But this planet is overwhelmed with the rebel spies, I might try to get some information about our next mission. MstrOfPppts: No, It's too dangerous ... <transmission interrupted> ... Karin? Goddammit that woman will bring us nothing but trouble!
  18. “There it is.” Dressed in smuggler clothes, we approach our destination. Just agent An and me, two pilots, on a rapid reconnaissance mission while the rest of the troops continue to search Ord Mantell. There’s only a small chance we will find him here. But the files on the datapad have led us to this once beautiful temple, hidden between the forests on the surface of Bothawui. They are rumoured to be infested with Rebels. Still, nothing indicates this place is of special importance… not anymore. “See that antenna hidden on the roof? We’re here alright... Yes, here is some kind of hatch. Let’s go in and take them by surprise!” Things always go so quickly with agent An. Frightfully quickly… “We aren’t wearing these smuggler clothes just to blow are cover the very second we enter the place. You don’t even know what we’ll find. It could be a Rebel cell wiped out by the Bounty Hunter. Or it could be a whole battalion of Rebels. If you’re not careful, you drop right into a sarlacc pit.” “What do you propose then, genius?” My colleague can be awfully sarcastic. Like a little boy robbed of his favourite Ackay action hologram… “Why don’t walk in casually? Pretend to be one of them, whoever is down there. Talk them into giving you the evidence. Why would you make this a massacre?” “Oh, I see… What if I go in and… improvise, while you stand guard here. Someone has to watch my back. Just blast anyone who makes a fuss here…” Sarcastic as his proposal may sound, I consent. I’m not getting involved in whatever happens down there. And the chances someone comes here are slim. “That’s what we’ll do. And if someone shows up here, I’ll… improvise.” He already threw open the hatch and descends the stairs. A muffled cry. I’m not staying here to find out from who. I’m not going to stay here to witness yet another tragedy. I don’t want to be part of this scene of death. I turn away. That temple… it seems like it is consecrated to life, to nature. Those two beautiful columns, with a closed bud and an open flower, the geometric patterns evoking foliage… I wonder what it was used for, what it all means. Yet, I’m attracted to it. It’s strange how nature is destroying the homage to itself. And even then, there might be a meaning to it all. This really is a sacred place. A reflection by… [soNE Ep. VI] 4 - What's the meaning of all this? by Bert.VR, on Flickr That was close. I got behind this rubble just in time. I don’t think those Bothans have seen me. But what now? What if they enter the hatch. I can’t just kill them… they might be civilians. I don’t know how it will help me, but contacting Goatm is the only thing I can think of. Our communication only makes things worse. Below, there will soon be an even greater ruin than up here. Gunfire and cries. The Bothans seem as distressed as I am, and decide to leave quietly. I guess they don’t want to be in this as much as I. So far for giving my colleague back cover. [soNE Ep. VI] 4 - Ruins among ruins by Bert.VR, on Flickr I can think again. So it is true: there really are… or sadly were Rebels down there. How did they get involved with the bounty hunter? Why would Boba Fett bother to steal a genuine Rebel datapad somewhere? Surely, a smaller clue would have done to blame the Rebels for that atrocious deed on Ord Mantell. Unless… he had it already with them, stolen it from Rebels that he had encountered. Maybe the datapad still holds some information. It was never meant to be investigated, but that might be the reason there is still useful information in there… It doesn’t take me long to find what I’m looking for. Indeed, the mission of the Rebel this datapad once belonged to, was to track down Boba Fett, in an attempt to rescue a certain Solo. So the Rebels are after the bounty hunter as well, at the same time. What a coincidence. At least, they have reason, unlike our own absurd mission… The truth is simple and astonishing. Our mission isn’t to get Boba Fett and deliver him some ridiculous ‘Thank you’ card at all. Sure, finding the bounty hunter is our priority, but the reason is something else entirely. This mission is a mere excuse to get to the Rebels. We only want to track the bounty hunter to know where to find the Rebels. It isn’t about finding him, it’s about finding those that are searching for him. Our real bounty, are the Rebels… Ruins. But why? Why weren’t we just told that we were hunting Rebels? Why did they try to conceal the real purpose of this mission from us? Is it to give us a false feeling of safety? Is it so that we ask as few questions as possible? Or is it to make us forget what we’re actually doing, to turn us into mindless machines? Why? I don’t know why. But what I do know, is that this is intolerable. One cannot just conceal a war from the people that are suffering the consequences! If there is a war, you can’t hide it. People have the right to know what’s going on. So that they either can support or resist it. There’s a difference between people that live to ignore the war, and people that live in ignorance of the war. But neither of them can have an opinion, neither of them gets listened to, neither of them gets a chance to stand up and change things. And both of them should be awakened. It’s hideous to hide things from people, without hiding the consequences for them. If people don’t know what’s happening, they have no chance of fighting back. Hiding these things, silencing them, is a crime. It is just like that bounty hunter, who’s example the Empire is apparently obediently following. He commits an atrocious crime, and walks away, blaming it on someone else, so that people are powerless to fight back. It’s like blaming the supernatural for something you did, so other people can’t do a thing about it. It’s hiding what you did behind an unbreakable façade. And that hiding, is a crime. And it has to be stopped. There’s only one way to break this wall of ignorance down. People have to know what’s really happening. Somebody has to tell it to them. No, not somebody, someone far away. Everybody. I have to tell the world what’s happening. Maybe that’s my purpose in life. It’s a nice feeling to know that… Of the whole world, I already informed one, myself. Next up, someone that has to know what he is doing himself… Boba Fett. ___________________ LDD file is available right here. As you might have noticed, the story is a collaboration with goatman461. The link in the middle leads to his entry, as the story could be inserted there. Be sure to check his fantastic entry out as well! And thanks a lot for the inspiration, goatman! With 1411 bricks, this is a rather parts intensive MOC (there are more pieces in the creation, than there are words in the enormous story above, 1133 words to be exact). That's due to the different patterns, on the wall and in the floor. When I look at it in reverse, there could be less, with areas of the ground that are already covered, but with this tight deadline, I'm leaving it as it is. Apart from the different patterns, I also tried to incorporate some extra nice features. I'm very pleased with the columns, and I tested the design in real life, so they're absolutely clean, and maybe I'll post a tutorial someday on how to make those shafts. I admit that the tree is probably a very fragile construction. I already tested this technique, but i can't assure this particular configuration will hold, so I hope you're fine with the fact that the idea is possible. The roof construction is overly complicated, but I like the way the bricks form nice patterns, so let's stick to this fragile design. There are also some features that aren't clearly visible on the pictures, like some cracks in the ceiling and ornaments towards the roof. You can check these out in the digital model. So I hope you like the MOC and the story, as I put a lot of work and thought into it. Let me know what you think. PS: I hope the story made you think once again, and I would be very pleased to know what you think the 'hidden' meaning of the temple (and the way it is destroyed) is (yes, I really put a meaning in there!). Cudos to the one that gets it right!
  19. My first time leading an assignment coordinating multiple groups. And what an absurd one?! We have to locate a bounty hunter on a rumored route, because Darth forgot to thank him ... as if he ever does. And for being even harder I have to coordinate the search mission from the Avenger with troops scattered over five planets. Anyway, the guys from Felucia were first to make contact. Trooper: This is squad from Felucia reporting ... MstrOfPppts: Trooper report your status. Trooper: We've landed about an hour of walk from each of the three settlements and we are half way to our target. MstrOfPppts: What about the other two groups? Trooper: We haven't heard from them, this planet truly is psychedelic, I wouldn't be surprised if something ate them. Maybe it'd be best if we return ... MstrOfPppts: Well since no one else made contact yet, you should proceed as planned. I'll keep you updated.
  20. Here we with my second entry for SoNE Episode VI: Bounty Hunter Hunt on Ord Mantell: Intercepting the communications... C&C are always welcome, I hope you Enjoy it, now let's the story talk! The spaceport of the capital of Ord Mantell, Worlport, had barely a IT infrastructure that could be defined like this, so the team of the rebel soldier Wedge09 had been diverted to another type of interception: all the ships that want land and depart, had, even little, to communicate with the spaceport, if only to know what docking bay they would use or if their route was clear, so if you could monitor the communication, you would know who and what was coming and going. Installed an interception antenna away from prying eyes, the rebel team began the slow work of sifting the telecommunications from their new location. "Hey, boss!" called the technician doing the interception "We've got something!" An identification code of a vessel was connected to the Slave I "Found it!" "Wait... there's a problem..." the technician remained silent for a moment continuing to watch the screen and listening to the communications in his headphones "They report that is departing from Ord Mantell!" "Damn!" This meant that the Slave I and with it, Boba Fett, were already on the planet when they arrived but that they were very well hidden. "Another hole in the water, but this time we were closer..."
  21. [Note - anyone who owned a Nintendo-64 should play this soundtrack whilst reading my entry] "Join the Empire," they said. "See the Galaxy," they said. “Spend the better part of a day traveling through a city-sized salvage yard on an absurdly dangerous hover train,” they most certainly did not say. And yet here we are. We’re dispatched following reports of an explosion and fighting at one of the large salvage plants. Intel informs us that it appears a hover train has crashed into the building. Next, they let us know that we’ll have to ride a hover train in ourselves, as it’s too dangerous to land at the plant. So, we head out; Romeo up front, Crash in the middle, and yours truly securing the aft; what choice do we have? The bitter, stinging scent of chemicals is overpowering, despite the filters in our helmets. If I had any illusions about living through this war, I might be worried about cancer down the line. Instead, I just hang on through the sharp turns, not eager to meet any of the native fauna. We reach the salvage plant eventually. The building has definitely seen fighting, but there's no sign of the combatants, and no sign of the bounty hunter. I wonder if they'll upgrade us to first class for the trip back.
  22. The Imperial Department of Military Research was a research department of the Galactic Empire responsible for researching and development of new weapons, technologies, warships, and battlestations for the Imperial Military. In very rare instances, the IDMR issues experimental ships and gear to the Imperial Survey Corp (ISC) and the Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) for trial and field-testing...However, only the best of the best are selected. Pointblank has been assigned to such a ship - the Intolerance. The Intolerance is a scaled down destroyer loosely based on the Gladiator Class Destroyer. Designed for the Imperial Survey Corp (ISC), the Intolerance is designed to be fast and maneuverable for quick sortie missions, or chase down fast moving rebel ships such as the blockade runner. Equipped with a Hyperdrive Class 1 engine, and light capital class weapons and point defence, the Intolerance also carries a light complement of fighters and Pacifiers designed for the ISC. The hangar at the front is capable of launching Ships and Mechs quickly. It has a full array of Specially Designed Mechs, Drop Pods and Gear for classified ISC missions, and also a fortified containment and torture facilities to contain the most dangerous of criminals and extract information from them. The dark menacing silhouette of the Intolerance is deliberate, and a result of experimental stealth and radar avoidance plates on its hull. --------- My first freebuild and my first official ship MOC. Comments and Criticisms welcomed as always. :) Looking to build more as Pointblank grows in SoNE. Part 2 carries on here
  23. One of my entries to the Episode VII of SoNE, check out the complete story in this thread. Well, the "short trip" to Felucia wasn't really a success. But why should Boba rest here longer than one second ? No chance to meet him. But finding him on Mon Calamari sounds easy, with so many water there couldn't be so much places to hide. Yeeeehaaaa, that speed boat ride is fun ! I am just enjoying the fresh air, that may be good for my health. Want a glass of milk ? Or some vegetables ? Everything for your health... So you know where he has been ? Yes yes, Boba was visiting a bar yesterday. He was having a delicious fish menu, but after dinner he disappeared. At least it is a chance. Yes yes, a good chance to eat the healthy fish menu.
  24. Going against Imperial Intelligence's advise proved to fail Lord Tyrus. Boba Fett wasn't on Fondor either. The only other place he might be, Lord Tyrus thought, was where Imperial Intel suggested in the first place: Ord Mantell. Upon landing, Imperial Survey Corps officer, Lord Tyrus, could see a lone figure, walking about a pile of Firespray ship parts. Lord Tyrus walked over to him, but it wasn't Boba. It was a junk dealer. He was holding a droid head, and was looking round the scrap, carefully avoiding the river of slime that flowed through the junk. He told Tyrus that he would take him to his home, where he would ask his mates whether they knew Fett's location. Somehow, Lord Tyrus knew the answer... He had his troops and blaster should it be a trap, but he highly doubted it. The junk dealer would probably say the cogs of his memory needed refuelling, with cash, and the officer was glad he still had a small fortune of fake coins in his pocket from his old life... I would like this judged please.
  25. Aboard a recently seized Imperial Nebulon-B2 frigate docked at a secret Alliance location, Rebel intelligence specialist operatives work to retrieve information from the ship's mainframe. Captain Denk called me on to the ship to discuss my next mission. DonnieBricko this is Blax Ritton. He's a former Imperial pilot that has defected to the Alliance. Looks like a scumbag that can't be trusted. Nice to meet you, too! I may be a scumbag but I have no loyalty to the Empire. Now that we've dispensed with the pleasantries let's get to business. Blax appropriated this Nebulon frigate from the Imperial forces. This ship could be a tide turner in this conflict. We believe the mainframe contains nav coordinates and entry codes to some unknown Imperial installations. What does that have to do with my mission? You and Blax are going to depart for Fondor in search of the bounty hunter Boba Fett. We believe that he is in possession of Captain Solo. There is a transport ready...go get Cpt. Solo back. Alternate views Please judge this freebuild...thanks -D
