  1. As this is a user hosted competition, I would say it is very unlikely for there to be prizes. Has anyone actually contacted a mod or admin about the poll issues?
  2. Oh I see, I thought all boost functions were banned.
  3. I understand your point about a boost system, but I don't see how banning 3rd party bands will stop people from making a boost system with lego rubber bands?
  4. No, having the battery and receiver makes it way lighter and more compact, giving it a much biggger advantage. No, as ZBLJ said, let's keep it power functions.
  5. I'm assuming that 3rd party rubber bands are allowed right?
  6. Does anyone know of some good pneumatic steering systems and possibly ones with return to center steering?
  7. Wow this is crazy! Can't wait to see more. What you could do is to upload the video onto your YouTube channel as unlisted so only people with the link can see it.
  8. Yeah, sounds really good. No motor restrictions other than only power functions and sbrick right?
  9. The poll does not seem to work for anyone. Whenever I try to submit my answer, the poll disappears with the results. When logged out and browsing this topic some of the results are at 14.29%. This seems like a bug and as a recall someone already reported it. In the meantime, maybe @Zero (Zblj) should make a new topic just for the poll and figuring out the concrete rules?
  10. I definitely agree to this, it makes it fair enough for most to compete. All done.
  11. I would be happy to help with making a chassis if that is what we end up doing. I have 4L and 3 XL motors.
  12. Though this is a cool concept, I fear it would not work well as lego motors are extremely similar so there really would not be much different between each car.
  13. Really cool idea, I like the idea of not using buggy motors. I'm imagining some sort of a Lego Technic rally. I think we should limit it to 2 XL, 3L, or 4M motors and no sbrick or buwizz due to the power delivery advantages(but we could have a second class for these). I was wondering on how the cars will be judged and how they will compete...
  14. Thanks, I hadn't though about putting sticker on but I might now and yeah, the gears do probably need to be better braced. This is one of my most compact and powerful v2 LPE. It's not using stock cylinders though, they have been oiled and drilled, but the switches are not modified. Thanks for all the tips for the wheels, I'll have to do some testing. Thank you! I think it's powerful enough and I agree, the gears do need better bracing.

    WIP Tesla S 100P

Cool WIP, can't wait to see how progresses. For all of those who want to get developer mode on a PC then here is how: Download Notepad++ Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LEGO Company\LEGO Digital Designer Open preferences.ini with Notepad++ Press enter to create a new line, then paste in: DeveloperMode=1 Press save Allow Notepad++ to be launched in administrator mode Press save again Launch LDD!
  16. Maybe if we had liquid Helium, it has zero viscosity so it can move infinitely (well theoretically...) so I think the reall problem is how we're gonna stop the pieces freezing and cracking from a liquid at -271°C.
  17. Nice project! I love seeing LEGO RC motorcycles. I personally have made a few with varying amount of success. My most successful one actually had a freely moving front axle (nothing was connect to the steering). Instead to lean the bike, I used a weight which moved from the middle to the right or left. Shameless plug: But I have to give credit to the original genius, Slewentogzz. He has made the best Lego RC motorcycle to date. Good luck!
  18. I'm not sure of the exact PF voltage limits, but for the IR receiver, do not go over 9 volts - I fried one at 10V. I learned a lot on lithium Ion batteries when I was making my electric skateboard. When you're buying Li Ion batteries, I would recommend getting brand name batteries (e.g. Samsung, LG, Sony, Sanyo, Enloop, a123), they are less prone to damage. For the cheapest prices in the EU, you should by the cells from eu.nkon.nl . For the most safety, don't forget to balance charge each cell, but many people believe this is unnecessary. !!If you find super cheap Li Ion cells on ebay or aliexpress which claim that they're 10,000mAh with 20A max discharge for only 2 dollars it's a scam. If it looks to good to be true, it probably is!!
  19. I forgot to mention of a great website to get royalty free creative commons music. The website is called incompetech.com , it's got thousands of sound tracks all for free; thank you Kevin MacLeod!
  20. For free editing software, I would definitely go with DaVinci Resolve. It's originally a $30,000 color grading program for Hollywood, but surprisingly Blackmagic Design released a free version. I tried using Davinci Resolve, but I was having some issues with it running on my computer; though I might still have a go with it for color grading. Instead, I edit my videos I use Sony Vegas Pro 13, it's got a lot of professional features with a simple to use interface. I recently have been trying to use more Adobe products, I switched to Photoshop among others; I tried Premier but that is way to complex for me, maybe I'll try again but for now I'm sticking with Sony Vegas Pro 13. Some basics I think are necessary are: At least 720p resolution But 1080p or more is highly recommended I personally hate watching videos that were filmed with a potato Nowadays pretty much all smartphones can film 1080p or 4k Don't have a super shaky camera Though some camera shake can add a lot to your video (this can be difficult to master), but most people don't want to watch a super wobbly video. Get a tripod, or make one out of LEGO Or up the game like Mahjqa and build some camera vehicles. Some tips Music! A bit of background music can often add a lot to your video Sink the music to the video. Match your video cuts to the beats of the music Setting Choosing a spot to film that matches your creation (makes sense right? ) Have fun! There's no point of putting in tons into making a video if you're not enjoying yourself.
  21. Nice engines man, I like their compact designs. I often use vegetable oil as a lubricant for my LPEs and vacuum engines.
  22. If you want a great pneumatic starter set, get the 8455.
  23. Really nice model, you improved again. I love all the geometric shapes, it looks so realistic. One question though, what is a boxer v6 engine? I've heard of boxer engines, and v engines but not boxer v engines.
