Lift Mechanism
Nalyd997 replied to DwalinF's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
My friend Rohan B built a gbc module that has a mechanism perfect for this. It uses the small type technic chain with one tank tread that cycled a dump truck back and forth. -

[PORSCHE] LEGO Technic Porsche of Your Dreams
Nalyd997 replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
If you look on the website a shortlist has been reveiled by the judges. I think 20 or so received a comment from the admins to say they had passed into the final -

Lego Mindstorms Drawing Machine. Harmonograph.
Nalyd997 replied to alexsplanet's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
But also the fact that it has no turntable. I guess to produce a complicated pattern extremely different ratios must be needed as with the spirograph the pattern of the arms in relation to the board of PGs finishes quite quickly -

I feel like it really needs to have the sides recessed by a stud to get that continuous line throughout the body- 53 replies

As good as this would be I highly doubt it would happen due to the amount of tweakin these modules have to have to get to work. They would have to be refined to the point where they can work out of the box- 2982 replies

[WIP] Bowler Defender
Nalyd997 replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looking at it again the layer under the bonnet shouldn't be there. If you recess the whole top by a stud it might look better because currently it looks too tall:)- 53 replies

[WIP] Bowler Defender
Nalyd997 replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'd go two:) What may be off about the front is how close the bonnet is to the front grill, maybe setting it back 1 stud would give it more of the curved look. It depends on what model you are after though. Even adding a curve/slope there would achieve that. Like in mine- 53 replies

[MOC] XL Lego Supercar with Motorized Suicide Lambo Doors
Nalyd997 replied to Lox Lego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is definitely your best yet! That front is gorgeous, the curves are amazing. This will definitely motivate myself to finish my own car -
After seeing PG5200's spirographs a couple of years ago and being completely blown away I knew I had to make my own. It was not until some months ago where I realised how it worked and set about making my own. Mine has 6 speed gearboxes on each arm to increase the variations in patterns. Whilst the exterior looks similar internally mine is very different. You could say that it is 'upside down' compared to Pg's as his outputs for the gearboxes are where my inputs are if that makes sense. I did two videos for it, one describing the functions and the other with it looking cool! As seen in the video I have made various attachments for it, one to turn it into A5 size, and the other to create significantly different patterns. Thanks for watching!
