Speaking of MBS sets I'd love to see an Endor one. Been a long time since we've had a proper Endor set.

Speaking of Endor, I would like to see a smaller AT-ST again.

He has returned! I would love all of these, though I would selfishly want the shoretrooper pack to have 3 shoretroopers and a shoretrooper squad leader.

I might be in the minority of users on this forum, but I prefer the episodes design of the gunship to the CW design. To me it feels like the CW ship was designed to cut down on animation costs, removing the bubble turrets and sealing off the troop compartment so the only visibleĀ characters are the pilots, who barely move anyway. That being said, I would buy this in a heartbeat!

Wow... I never noticed they were missing.Ā

If this was a Winter 2025 set list (thus ROTS anniversary), would you be underwhelmed?

Iā€™ve tried to make it realistic by not just doing ROTS as Lego would typically do, and include some more genericĀ ships/vehicles from a wide array of media.Ā
Ā

Imperial Tatooine Patrol (Blister Pack) Ā£12.99 (Brickbuilt Dewback, SentryĀ droid): Sandtrooper Commander, Sandtrooper (x2)

Republic Artillery Forces Ā£17.99 (Venator gun-deckĀ Artillery Cannon): Phase II Clone Trooper (x3)Ā

Duel on the Death Star Ā£19.99: Darth Vader, Ben Kenobi

Rebel Fleet Troopers Ā£24.99 (Battlefront 2005 Hovertank, Yavin Watchtower): Rebel Commando, Rebel Friend, Rebel Fleet Trooper (x2)Ā

Obi-Wanā€™s Blue Jedi Interceptor Ā£29.99: Obi-Wan Kenobi, R4-G9, Tion Medon

SeparatistĀ Troop CarrierĀ Ā£44.99: Battle Droid Pilot (x2), Battle Droid Commander, Battle Droid (x6), Wookie WarriorĀ

Republic Arc-170 Starfighter Ā£54.99: Plo Koon, Captain Jag, Clone Pilot (x2), Republic Astromech DroidĀ

Then 3 sequel sets tied into scaled-down versions of classical shipsā€¦

First Order Tie Fighter Ā£34.99: First Order Tie Pilot, Captain Phasma, First Order Heavy StormtrooperĀ

Sith Tie Dagger Ā£44.99: Tie Pilot, Final Order Technician, Sith Sovereign Protector, Sith TrooperĀ

Resistance B-Wing Ā£44.99: Aftab Ackbar, General Larma Dā€™acy, Klaud, Resistance Solider (Didynon species)

Ā

Helmets:Ā

Sandtrooper

Death Star Gunner

AT-AT DriverĀ

Ā

ā€œQuoteā€ display sets:Ā

Battle on Hoth Ā£59.99 (similar to micro Trench run; snowspeeders, AT-ATā€™s)Ā - ā€œTBCā€

Death Star Detention Area Ā£64.99: Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Imperial Officer, Death Star Trooper - ā€œTBCā€

Lars Homestead Ā£59.99: Luke Skywalker, Owen Lars - ā€œTBCā€

What would your quotes be?Ā

This may seem weirdly specific, but the next time we get an ARC-170, I'd love to see Oddball. His helmet is one of only three designs in ROTS, and so far we've gotten 2 of them. Oddball and Jag could be in the same ship however, as if you look closely, Jag is sitting behind Oddball in the Coruscant scene. Also, the only open faced clone pilot we see in TCWĀ has the same design on his helmet as Oddball. Anyway, weird rant over, I just really like the open faced clone pilots for some reason.

I really like the set and costume design of the Andor show. Some of the aesthetics are very old school and i wish we will get more Andor (location) sets in the future.

To me some of the costumes look like they come straight from the 80s and things like the public "phone" i would expect in Blade Runner or some cyperpunk movie. In SW it is new to me and i like all of it

Some more Pre-Mor employees and tactical forces would be nice

I am currently in the process of selling my 11 year-old collection (rip Palpatineā€™s Arrest, but hello sealed Resistance Bomber FinchĀ Dallow version profits!)Ā

I love Lego and I will still purchase my favourite Star Wars sets.

So, this got me thinking: what sets could Lego release and Iā€™d all be all over it?!Ā
Ā

TPM:Ā

Naboo Royal StarshipĀ

AOTC:Ā

honestly my favourite film from a Lego PoV, so Iā€™d buy it if it was worth the money and looked accurate. Petranaki Arena, SPHA-T, Dropship, and Jango Fettā€™s Slave One would be real winners!Ā

ROTS:Ā

Honestly, unless I see shiny Phase II Clones Iā€™m not interested. I guess a Duel on Coruscant, ARC-170, andĀ Padmeā€™s Star Skiff would be cool!Ā

TCW:Ā

Anaxes or Mandalore inspired Republic Gunship and Iā€™m drooling badly.Ā Ā
Ā

OT:Ā

Jabbaā€™s Sail Barge. My first large set back in 2006 although it isnā€™t assembled and pieces are lost forever these days. UCS no, but a new system scale set with some cool new aliens would prop my interest.Ā
Ā

ST:Ā

I donā€™t think anything here would convince me, but an Aftab Ackbar should be made. The UA-TT is a cool vehicle Iā€™d love to see made into an official Lego set. Hermit Lando would be great too.Ā
Ā

Solo, Rogue One:Ā

Nothing, really.Ā

New Media:Ā

I really loved the Imperial Commandoā€™s from Bad Batch. Shame theyā€™ll never happen.
Ā

Apart from that, I love the showsĀ for the most part but there isnā€™t anything there.Ā Ā

Iā€™d love to see modern takes on Mon Mothma, Shaak-Ti, and Kit Fisto. I would even say Plo Koon could benefit from a new mould. Zam Wessel would be neat too. Iā€™d love for the og set she came in to be remade 1:1 someday.

Thoughts on next years UCS sets and MBS?

Hopes....for me a Jedi Temple. It would sell like Hot cakes it would be glourius, do it like the death Star ( but with a closed exterior) and have scenes from the prequels and TCW dotted around inside.

As much as I'd love to see it, the Jedi Temple seems like a set LEGO would never release. The Death Star was "just" a sphere with a bunch of levels andĀ added interiors. The Temple, on the other hand, would have to have those interiors along with a convincing facade, adding lots of extra pieces, but not extra size. Another issue - lighting - how would you light upĀ the interior? Unless the build has very little depth (which certainly would seem superficial)Ā this would bring issues. Also, I don't think there's a chance for any Order 66 scenes inside.

Exactly my thoughts. I am sure they could make a good looking set but everyone knows what happened inside. Blaster Phew Phew is one thing but children getting slaughtered...

A Jedi temple would more likely as a "Jedi Councile Chamber". Anakin, Obi-Wan plus four or five additional Jedi, either Ep. I or Ep. III, 600pcs. to 800pcs., about 100ā‚¬.

A set heavily focused on the figures with a bit of roundish floor, seats for the jedi and some wall-parts.

The one MBS I have been waiting for was Jabbas Palace because it would mean we could finally move on from OT scenes and vehicles and finally explore the Prequel era and some of its less explored concepts. But I don't know if it will ever be satisfactory now that none of the dancers and slaves can get included because of Lucasfilm mandates. A UCS / MBS hybrid Jabbas Sailbarge looks to be a more reasonable choice until that issue can get solved.

The figures I would definitely need to be in either set are Droopy McCool & Sy Snootles to complete the Max Rebo band, Yakface Saelt-Marae because of his status as an absolute icon of ROTJ aliens and Amanin / Amanaman / Amani Warrior for his unusual design.

Ā

I don't see much worth in an Endor MBS again. The Ewok village is good at covering that location. Already repeating previous locations would be odd when the Prequels are lacking so much in coverage. I also don't see the bunker and surrounding woods as MBS material, that has to be another normal set like in 2009 or a fan-made MOC to get the details just right.

If it completes a full selection I am also in favor of an Oddball clone pilot in the next ROTS era clone fighter set (ARC-170, V-Wing, Theta shuttle, what have you)

It bothers me that the Theta Shuttle and V-Wings always use enclosed mask pilots just because of the cross-sections books. The mask is an optional piece of equipment that any clone pilot can use. In media we see them with open faces everywhere except Genndy Clone Wars and that only because they didn't want to ever show the clones real face. The white mask head should be an optional piece or the backside faceprint on a fleshy head if included at all.

As I indicated in the 2023 topic, I'd love to see a battle pack from TPM. It's a challenge since there doesn't seem to be many possibilities to make one from that movie, but we have seen a few weird battle packs over the years (the one with Bariss Offee and Ki-Adi Mundi, or the Tatooine one). So let's give it a shot.

  • Trade Federation: battle droids of course, at least three regular ones, a droideka and a Neimoidian who isn't Nute Gunray. Maybe a specialized battle droid as well; a commander, security or pilot. As a side build there could be a STAP, and/or that platform where the commander droid received the message from Gunray and Haako that the jedi escaped to Naboo. Not an overly exciting idea, but I'm trying to fulfill my own challenge here.
  • Naboo security forces: two from the security guard (maybe one of them Panaka) and two palace guards. One of the figures could also be one of PadmĆ©'s body guards.Ā Side builds could be a throne with guns in it, an undersized Gian speeder (that way we'd get one from Lego) or maybe a window ledge or something... I don't know, I'm not the most creative person around.
  • Gungans: two or three normal soldiers, with one officer of sorts on a kaadu (can't cram a fambaa in there I'm afraid). Could also include Boss Nass. Side build could be a catapult.

I'd buy one of those but I'm also in the rather unfortunate situation that I love more niche sets, and Lego doesn't have much financial incentive to release those. On the other hand, if they even released a sandspeeder...

I definitely agree with those. Its a shame they're not doing a Home One remake for the diorama series next year as that would've been the perfect spot for a new Mon Mothma as well as Crix Madine. Hopefully she'll at least show up in a new Andor set. New molds for Kit and Plo would be great too. I never liked how squished Plo's head looks and Kit's is too easily prone to deterioration due to the type of rubber that was used at the time. He might actually work better similar to Ahsoka by using a regular minifigure head and a separate specialized piece for the tentacles. At least you can get his trademark grin that way.

Zam Wesell is especially overdue! She's the only yellow Star Wars figure that hasn't been updated to the flesh tone yet. Still with a new TIE Bomber on the way and the resurgence in Prequel popularity it gives me hope we'll eventually see a Bounty Hunter Pursuit remake one day.

Jabba's Palace would be my preference for a MBS set but the diorama set coming next year is going to rule that one out for some time. A UCS Sail Barge would be the next best thing.

I feel for an Endor MBS to be worth it the release it really needs to include both the Shield Bunker and Ewok Village together. I agree that the bunker on its own isn't substantial enough for a D2C set while just getting the village isn't offering anything new, but at least combining the two delivers a complete definitive Endor experience that covers all the main scenes and includes a wide minifigure selection of Rebels, Imperials, Ewoks and Force Ghosts.

We definitely need more prequel D2C's though. I'd do anything for a Geonosis Arena!

Its the 40th Anniversary of ROTJ. We're already rumored to be getting diorama sets for Jabba's Palace, Death Star Throne Room and Endor Speeder Bike Chase next year along with an Endor themed Brickheads Pack. I believe Leia's Boussh helmet is also rumored to be coming next year along with Rex and Cody's but that one isn't confirmed yet.

To be honest I'd like more TPM sets in general, particularly the lesser-known ones. Since the 2015 wave where there were four or five sets, I think we've had a grand total of two, and none since 2019. That podracer is one of my favourite SW sets, but still.

One of my white whale sets is the Radiant VII set from 2007, and I'd love a remake of that in a similar style to the Tantive IV. If not a D2C, then could be in a similar vein to Gideon's cruiser. Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, TC-14, the pilot and co-pilot, possibly an extra crew member or astromech, and Chancellor Valorum for something a bit different.

Totally agree with you. I'm still waiting for a gian speeder (system scale of course) and some more love for the Gungan grand army. I forgot about that Radiant VII set by the way, so I looked it up. Great set indeed.

Thoughts on next years UCS sets and MBS?

Honestly, I think the May one could be anything. With the Landspeeder this year, I think Lego has really scraped the bottom of the barrel for OT $200-250 UCS sets they havenā€™t made before. Unless they remake something like Vaderā€™s TIE Advanced or another X-Wing, I donā€™t see it being an OT set. At the same time, Iā€™m not sure what PT or ST starfighters are iconic enough to do as a set at that price range. Maybe a Jedi Interceptor or a new Naboo Starfighter?Ā

My shot in the dark prediction (which I randomly predicted the UCS Razor Crest like a year ago and that came true) is a UCS U-Wing. Rogue Oneā€™s a pretty popular movie, itā€™s a ship theyā€™ve never done in UCS scale (and only once at System scale) and youā€™ve got that Andor synergy. Throw in some updated versions of the main Rogue One cast and youā€™ve got yourself a hot seller.

Ā

As for the fall D2C, I could definitely see a MBS Endor or, less interestingly, a Death Star remake. Iā€™d love some sort of Jabba Palace, but I feel like the dioramaĀ set will already fill that niche. The Sail Barge would be fantastic as well but MBS Endor would be my preference.Ā
