  1. As far as I know, they are all prototypes for the Eagle Interceptor.
  2. I was lucky enough to be able to squeeze three events into my calendar within the space of four weeks in September/October, including LEGO World. I snapped some pictures, including a couple of the Chima stuff on display. Unfortunately I didn't see your post until after I'd left the event, or I would have taken a few more... but you can have a look at the ones I did take. Here's the link - there was some great stuff on display and, of course, some lovely Dutch builders to talk to and get to know better :) The Chima pictures are close to the bottom of the photoset.
  3. I managed to squeeze in three events in the space of four weeks in September/October, including STEAM - which I most certainly will be going back to later. In case anybody's interested, I've just posted a few pictures from the event on Flickr :)
  4. In case anybody's interested, I've just posted a few pictures from the event on Flickr :)
  5. That Octan car caught my attention. It looks very familiar. I'm entirely open to the possibility that this is a coincidence, but... :)
  6. I have to agree with what the others have said - I haven't had so much time to read this forum lately, and I mostly check the Town forum, but when I saw this on the front page I knew I had to take a look. I'm duly impressed with how you've managed to put together a model that looks almost like a scale model - and that is not least due to the wonderful rigging and sails. I also really like the crazy angled walls and, not least, the irregular base. Well done - admittedly, I don't see as many LEGO pirate ships as a lot of other people that frequent this part of the forum more often, but I dare say you've raised the bar :)
  7. I'm going for the weekend - will be there from Friday afternoon to about mid-day Sunday. Looking forward to the LEGO World experience :)
  8. It's a bit surprising that there aren't more comments on this, because it really is just as lovely and detailed as your other stuff, Arjan. But I think maybe regular ships speak more to people hearts than stuff that looks more industrial. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing it at LEGO World :)
  9. So many good ideas - so many entries! And still only nine votes to give away. Tough one. But hey, here they are: 113. Hover Campercraft by moctown (2 votes) 175. Steampunk Camper by aditayam (2 votes) 3. Hot Rod by Eurotrash (1 vote) 10. Monster Van by Yatkuu (1 vote) 56. TMNT Party Wagon by midi (1 vote) 58. Buzz' Star Command Camper by Oky (1 vote) 100. Chia Van by Brick Laboratory (1 vote) Well done, everybody!
  10. I don't visit these parts of the forums often, but I have to make a comment here. Congratulations - I'm sure you'll do a great job :)
  11. And finally, I had the time to upload some pictures of when Morty and I got to set up the Palace and some of my cars inside the real Royal Palace. It's a part of this summer's palace tours, so all the tourists that visit this summer will see it. When we were there, the master of the house and his wife weren't at home, so we were left pretty much alone during setup. It's a pretty special experience to wander around on your own inside the Small Hall... we even got a personal tour of the building. Not bad! Here's a link to the set on Flickr, and for those of you who don't like external links: Here's a few tasters. Enjoy :) Morty being interviewed by NRK during setup. Meet the King and Queen of Norway! Morty, builder of the Palace, and L@go, builder of the cars. Note the red marks on my left knee - that's what you get from crawling across baseplates with short trousers on. Lesson learned. The finished palace, seen from the rear.
  12. If I hadn't been attending Communidade 0937's event Arte em Peças in Portugal at the time, I would have tried to make it to Günzburg. Next year, in Billund... that's on the to do-list :)
  13. I agree, it looks great on the pedestal. It's a wonderful sculpture on its own, but it really needs a pedestal. Here's mine, built from instructions I bought (very expensively) on eBay: I did actually have all the big models at one point, but I sold both the Tower Bridge and the Taj Mahal MISB (at a hefty price) because I realised they would just take up so much space that I really don't have. Sad, but true. The Sydney Opera House does sound incredibly tempting though, might need to try to find room for that :)
  14. So you followed my advice. Welcome! I hope you'll like it here :)
  15. Well, Pixmania.com - which is an international site - has them, but not for all countries. Here's a link to the page where they're sold for the Norwegian market, and I'm sure they're available elsewhere as well, but I tried Italy and couldn't find them. Strange.
  16. There really were a lot of very impressive entries this time, and it was very hard to decide which ones to vote for. There's no doubt that the ones that came out on top are worthy winners - congratulations to everybody! :)
  17. This is gorgeous! There are some very nice exterior features - the architecture in itself is great, and I love the ornamentation you've done with the clips by the door. The top floor balcony is also a nice touch. But the interior details are even better - just the way you've recessed the iPods into the tables like that is very clever, and very simple. The piano, the easel and, not least, the fridge magnets are other favourites of mine. Great job! I'd really love to see it brick-built. What does your wallet think about that?
  18. Wow. If this is what you do with leftover bricks, I'd love to see what you can do when collecting bricks with the purpose of building something special... :D
  19. To me, this is the number one argument why it shouldn't (and won't) happen. It's not like the company has the possibility to produce an infinite amount of sets at any given time. If you want a modular building re-released, it's going to sell to roughly the same buyers who would buy a new one - only less, because a lot of them already have the original. And because the buyers are the same, that would most likely mean that the sets that would have to give way to a re-release, would be new modular buildings. It's not as simple as putting them back into production - like others have said, there are parts that are no longer used, and parts that don't exist in the necessary colours anymore. The box designs would also have to be un-retired, which would steal space along the production line from other sets - most likely other modulars. It's not a good idea, no matter how much somebody wants it to happen. But it doesn't look awful compared to the rest of the mods! It deserves its place in the row. My obsessive compulsive gene urges me to tell you to bite the bullet and get it :)
  20. All the pictures in the Flickr gallery are from the same exhibition, the Norwegian LUG Brikkelauget's annual event. The updated classic sets are all mine, it's a project I've been working on for a while. I'm glad you like them - you can find many more pictures of those cars in this photoset on Flickr :)
  21. Again, fantastic work - those bogies look great. You've been quite busy lately!
  22. I went to my first LEGO event in September last year - I thought, "why not do it properly" and signed up for Skærbæk. I haven't looked back since. That was my first event - and the next Fan Weekend, this September, will be my seventh. So you can say I got bitten by the bug. I've been an exhibitor at all the events I've been to so far except LEGO World in Copenhagen, and my experience has been just about all positive - apart from sore feet, I can't really think of much that hasn't been to my liking. I have really enjoyed meeting fellow AFOLs, particularly ones that I knew from Eurobricks so I could match a nickname to a face - that's a great thing. There's also so much mutual respect going on, and that's great - even though somebody else is building in a completely different scale, or stuff from a completely different theme, you can appreciate how much work they have put into their MOCs. My next event will be Arte em Peças in Portugal in June, and it will be my first ever visit to Portugal. Really looking forward to broadening my horizons even more. And the crazy thing is that before last September, I had never physically met an adult that loved building with LEGO... Regarding the experience of being an exhibitor, I have to say that children that get overly enthusiastic hasn't really been that much of a problem - in fact, at the Norwegian LUG Brikkelauget's annual exhibition in Trondheim in late April, more adults than children picked my stuff up from my table. And more than once, the kids would go, "Hey! No touching!"
  23. I can't wait! Wohoo, only a couple of weeks left! We'll be arriving on the Thursday (Jun 6). So much looking forward to meeting you and your fellow countrymen. I'm afraid my Portuguese is a bit rusty, though :)
  24. These are both very nice, and there's some pretty good SNOTwork going on with the cabins. I particularly like the tugboat. Well done :)
  25. That's an interesting way to put it - you put a bit more time and effort into your part than I did in mine :D
