This is a very nice one. The SNOT on the smooth front end works well. Good job!

Well, I went into this thinking that I wouldn't just give one point to five entries - but alas, it's just impossible to narrow it down any further. There are just too many good builds here, it's an extraordinary contest... again, here on Eurobricks! :) My votes: 20. Gazumpty - 1 24. SpacySmoke - 1 27. Galaktek - 1 38. vecchiasignoraceppo - 1 53. Cara - 1 Best of luck to everybody!

I have to agree with the others - it's a very nice design! The exterior is clean and uncluttered, with that sign as the obvious main feature. The interior looks good, too, especially that tiny bathroom which still seems to be well equipped. And your photography and presentation leaves nothing to be desired. Well done.

This is really nice! I like the exterior - particularly the drain pipes and those flower boxes - and those two bar stools on the pavement. The colour combinations work very well, both inside and out, although I agree that the inside could probably have been a bit more colourful. And your interiors are very well done, especially the ground floor.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series Discussion
L@go replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There's not much difference between £2.00 and 2.50€. In Norway, they've been about £2.50, or roughly €3.00, since series 1 (unless my memory is playing tricks on me). But that's pretty much how the difference is across all product lines, so we're used to that. -
You never disappoint when you present something new and big. This is spectacular, especially because of how completely packed with details it is. Big and detailed - that's a recipe for something impressive! I thought you were building all those 2CVs just to demonstrate how many colours they could be done in - but this makes perfect sense. Some of my favourite details here are those old-fashioned computer monitors, the whole railway part, and the structure for lowering the bodies onto the chassis. Great work, Henrik, and as always I wish I could have studied this up close somewhere :)

Eurobricks Event 2014 - Sign-up Topic
L@go replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Alright - would you mind holding that last space for me for a little while? I'm just going to have to check with some friends in Billund if they have room for me. -
I had the same phone call experience today. It seems what they have done is simply automatically cancel all orders that had a PR in them. Now, I don't have a problem with fixing a mistake, but I ordered a discounted 10230, Mini Modulars, as well, and that's also gone, as it was part of the same order. So, I can order PR again on New Year's Eve, the customer service employee told me, but as 10230 is now sold out world-wide, that opportunity is lost, because of how LEGO handled this situation. I can't quite understand their thinking in this matter - this makes a lot of customers unhappy.

Thanks for the kind words, imvanya! I appreciate it a lot. I have noticed the similarity, too, and when I saw the first picture of the new LEGO sports car I thought that there was no way it could be a coincidence. Then again, there are only so many ways to design a sleek six-wide sports car - but I still wouldn't be surprised if the designer had seen my original design, especially since it got picked up by The Brothers Brick and was at the time the most well-known of all my builds. It was even what eventually led to my contributions to the LEGO Adventure Books... I don't have any definite plans for new cars at the moment, but my Christmas holiday isn't over yet, and I've brought my computer with me, so when I eventually get bored I might get creative with LDraw - which is how all my builds start :) Of your cars, I like your rear end designs best. The first one is brilliant, very aggressive. I also like rear end of the yellow one. I haven't got any of those spoiler parts yet, and that taillight arrangement is different and nice (and although the ring piece doesn't exist in trans-red, I think this piece might work in its place - although I may be wrong, I've never actually owned one). What I don't like about the red one is the roof, especially how it meets the windscreen. I can see that you can't lower the windscreen any further because it hits the mudguard pieces, but those exposed corners look strange. Apart from that, it's a great design that I'd love to see translated into real bricks. On that olive green one, I think you could perhaps do with another colour - maybe to break up that big, flat gray area between the mudguards. Maybe a stripe of black at the bottom, or something. I think what might also work out well for the red one is to break up the black area in the same place - have you considered replacing the second black plate from the top with a red one, for a slight transition effect? Just my 2 cents :) keep up the good work! And it would be nice to see some of these in the brick at some point!

Who in this world would be fool enough to pay millions of dollars for an old stamp from the 1850s, when you could just print a copy of it on a piece of paper? It would even look brand new! The answer is astonishingly simple: A collector :)

It's also, from what I've been told by LEGO insiders, dependant on the specific chemical mixture in any particular batch of bricks - some batches are more prone to discoloration than others. I've seen 10-15 year old MOCs built from a number of white bricks, obviously from different sets and probably different time periods, where some bricks look pretty much as white as they were when they first came out of the box, whereas others could not possibly be distinguished from a modern part in tan. And they had all been connected to the same bricks since the MOC was originally built - i.e. stored in the same place and exposed to the exact same conditions.

This is a lovely building, architecturally, and for a first modular it's hugely impressive. Your interiors are more than decent, too :) so yes! Please build it. If you expand it according to your plans, I'm sure it'll be nothing short of spectacular!

[MOC] Puggie, the funniest and most adorable dog on earth!
L@go replied to marcosbessa's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nice one, Marcos. The design is spot on - and the addition of a bowtie and those tiny trainers is brilliant :) -
This is absolutely gorgeous. The exterior is very nice, with all that texture, the nice colours and everything, but for me the interiors are what really makes this thing pop. Those bedrooms are just lovely. As somebody else said above - this would be on my shopping list if it were a set. I really, really like it. Well done!

That option actually turns up every time you place an order. On the screen where it says "BrickLink Order #xxxxxxx was successfully placed" (or something very similar, I can't remember exactly right now), there's a link that says "Items in this order on my Wanted list". Click there right after you have placed an order, and you can delete from the list the parts you've just purchased. And let me add a general tip: Sometimes the sellers that have the most parts available for sale, might be more expensive than others, as you've experienced - although I must say I haven't noticed that connection. But even if they're more expensive, I've found that it's normally worth it to pay a little bit extra to a seller that delivers every time. So I tend to prefer the stores with the most feedback and most parts.

That is a very funny idea. Well done! :)

One word: Beautiful. More words in your Flickr stream :) ...and I'm officially impressed (but not surprised) at how well your excellent building skills translate from ships to city related stuff.

This is among the more interesting modular buildings I've seen in a while (and I mean that as a compliment). I really like the colour combinations you've used, and there are some very nice other details as well: That balcony with the flowers and the awning, and the patio with the leaves - and that curved wall is an intriguing architectural detail. I like it!

This is very nice, Andy, I like it a lot! Is it possible that I saw this at the Fan Weekend in Skærbæk? I seem to recognise it.

That is one lovely magpie!

That looks very nice indeed! Very Deco. I like that decorative spire. Too bad you won't be going ahead with any of those interior plans anytime soon, they sound interesting. This building would look good in any table town :)
