Nice details. Have you considered attaching the bridle to the horse head so it goes up and down too? Your title threw me off. At first I thought your nodding donkey was the same type as mine.

Lego vs. Technic model weight
dr_spock replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You can use technic panels which is lighter than a wall of bricks. Also you can make it technic airy style with flex axles, -
Green 32x32 Baseplates Sold Out S@H
dr_spock replied to KringlesBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Is it the 48x48 and/or 32x32 blue base plate? Interesting that blue base plate would be dropped when they're releasing new pirate sets. -
I think every generation has its technical and non-technical people. Some people are meant to be engineers and others aren't as my engineering professor used to say to those repeating the 101 class. From the examples: $100USD or less sets such as 8081 or 42029 don't have 4x4 but $200USD sets such as 8110 set does. The 8081/42029 are designed for ages 9/10 to 16. The 8110 is designed for ages 11 to 16. Is having a 4x4 drive train too complex for 9 and 10 years-old? Or parents aren't willing to pay more for the additional parts to get 4x4?

Bad gators! They should be punished with the SLA (Service Level Agreement).

Yes, someone did a blue one. you can use the bricklink inventory catalog for the set to see if the parts are available in a different color.

TLG have the skills to design 4x4 drive train but it adds costs to the model. Just like buying the 2WD versus 4WD version of a pickup truck. I guess their market research may indicate price points customers are willing to pay for certain sets and they design them to that. There's that saying, if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

Walmart.ca had them online yesterday when I looked. Not sure about today. People seem to be snapping them up now.

After April release is good. That's right after personal income taxes returns have to be filed and we'll know if we have any funds left for LEGO. Maybe they should redo the pistol mold, at least the handle part. I made a Friends Pink Pearl ship and noticed after I took the picture that the pistol mounted in the female captain's quarter looks a bit strange... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/drspock/pinkpearl/pinkroom.jpg

Favorite Technic Sets
dr_spock replied to DrJB's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Those are my 3 favorites since they are still on display and not parted out. Maybe DrJB should have also asked when you entered and exited your Dark Ages. I suspect those sets are recent and had good availability to time with folks coming back to LEGO. -
GBC General Discussion

Thanks. I got the train icons from here: http://www.fa-meier.de/lego/traindepot/index.html I pasted them into a graphics jpeg file, upload the file to a photo sharing site and added the URL to my EB signature. Hope that helps.- 1,124 replies

Would it be possible to swap the gears around? Have the 20T gear on the motor driving the 12T gear? It should make for higher RPMs going to the bogie.

Sweet seeing my Christmas train on the calendar. Thank you very much, CopMike for holding the raffle and Sinner for the backend IT work. -
Have you looked in the train master index topic? There is a section on boogies and wheels: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=54563entry1513010

I think you may have to sqeeze in a gear box to gear up the output from the motor so the engine runs faster. Big gears driving smaller gears.
