    I wanted to get a 7938 at one time to mod into a Stadler GTW 2/6. I never was able to get it on discount so I missed out on it. I think it has good possibilties to MOD into various German DB regional railcars or Swiss red/white trains.

    You could use 1x_ plates on side to expand the width of the train bases. The height of the base is 2 plates high.

    I have the set on my hutch with the widest part of the ship 1" from the wall. I measured 12 inches from the wall, that gets to the center point of the stand. You would still have about 2-3" of stand dangling over the edge of your 12" shelf. You could try angling the ship against the wall but the stand is towards the back of the ship. I think you'll still have part of stand over the shelf edge. I am not going to test that. It's difficult to move around...

    I think I saw it on ToysnBricks last year. I didn't think much of it as I use TnB for sales and deals info and that was way out of my price range.

    Nice. I think the oven, stove, rear counter could be higher up for worker ergonomics. They look low for Stephanie. If she has to bend all day, it could be bad for her back.

    $9.99 CAD for a new tan baseplate doesn't seem so bad with BrickLink prices averaging $13CAD for tan new.

    I gave up trying to get my son to sort. The interesting thing is he can remember where a particular piece is in the pile of mess in the drawer tower.

    My kids are in dark ages. My nephew and niece still play with LEGO. I am happy with any LEGO gifts received.
