  1. There is a crane version of the KA-32. I don't think it can lift a Stryker IAV. Super Sea Stallion probably will never happen given LEGO stance on modern military warfare stuff and there isn't a civilian version. You're gonna have to MOC one for us.
  2. That's how the driver gets in and out too of funny cars. Some times the body shell flies off during the race and leaves it naked. It gets scary when parts flies into the spectator stands. The funny car could be a cheaper source for tumbler tires to make a batpod.
  3. Are the tracks and traction tires clean? Have you tried putting more weight over the drive wheels? If that doesn't help, then try replacing the traction tires with rubber O-rings.
  4. Do what you enjoy doing. If you are a superdetailing guy, then build detailed. If you enjoy operations, then build towards that. If you're a bit of both, then figure out how to balance it. Unless you're building on commission, then you're at the mercy of the client. For me, I enjoy the toy and play side of LEGO trains. I don't care as much for scale and exact prototype details match with LEGO as I did in HO scale.
  5. Good question. One of our LUG members made the lightweight tables. They are square shaped. I think they fit sixteen 32x32 base plates. They have adjustable legs so that we can level them wherever we get to display like on grass in a park. Also they fit nicely on the car or SUV roof rack to transport around to events. I think for big open water sea battle, you could go with a building an island of tables in the middle of the room. That way you can access your layout from all sides for maintenance like dusting.
  6. I see trains. I think it is an age thing. The kids can seem to build on the floor with no pain...
  7. Thanks for the review. Report back to LEGO? What kind of metrics are they collecting? It could be since they are using more Technic pieces in other themes geared towards the younger age range than the Technic crowd.
  8. Thanks for the review. I wonder if the design inspiration came from the Russian Ka-32 helicopter.
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks.
  10. Vader forgot to recharge his interrogation droid and had to resort to old school technology. Day 335 of 365: Catherine's Wheel by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  11. LEGO has 4 wide curve tracks so it's possible to do a circle. Straight could be brick built from existing straight rail piece and plate. The hard part would be the investment to make 4 wide track switches. Perhaps someone clever can release a STL file for 3D printing them. I'd vote for a Friend's Party Booze Train breaking the no alcohol policy.
  12. Sounds like there is a thermsistor stopping the motor when the temperature gets too hot. It is either the motor getting too hot or the old thermsistor is kicking in at a lower temperature. How's your soldering skills?
  13. The Complete Book for North American Railroading. Not a bad history of N.A. railways that came and went and merged.
  14. For a larger display area we clamp several tables together for our layout.
  15. Maybe you could have done this with a poll. After the theme ended, determine who predicted the right date and send them a LEGO prize.
  16. I was wondering the same thing. Maybe he chose to depict Jesus the toddler instead of the newborn. Argh, now I have the song, Away in a Manger, stuck in my head.
  17. Great job. The motion is well done and realistic.
  18. Best for me was the Series 14 Collectible Minifigures. I don't really have a worst.
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks. Playing trumpet is a good skill to have.
  20. Secret prizes can be fun. You don't know until you open the package.
  21. Eurobrick's picture size site guidelines is 800x600 but no bigger than 1024x768. Your pic is 450x800 which should be fine.
  22. Trainmaster247 made some microscale curves in this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=114348
  23. Check your flickr permissions settings. The BBCode option is available for my flickr pics.
  24. It's also stated in the help topics on the BnP page. You’ll find some parts cost less through Pick A Brick and others cost less through Bricks & Pieces. You’re welcome to order from either. Please keep in mind that only Pick A Brick orders will earn LEGO VIP points and count toward purchase amounts needed to qualify for LEGO Shop promotions. Think of it more like the United States, each states have can their own state laws and charge different rates for state taxes.
  25. I take it you haven't seen the money tile Xmas tree entry for the EB Raffle over in the Town section? Now if you have one or more of these in your collection new or used -> http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=47996&ColorID=86
