  1. Welcome to Eurobricks.
  2. You can use tissue paper, white cloth, printer paper, etc. to diffuse the light. Try different things and see what works for you. Double check to make sure the material is not getting to fire hot. You can try setting your camera white balance to flourescent to see if that helps with the blue. If your camera supports manual white balance, you can try that too. You can also fix the WB in postprocessing.
  3. In the spirit of Christmas and good will to all men, Yoda and Darth Maul lightsabered a tree together for the Naboo Christmas tree. Ideal tree is big and heavy. Day 317 of 365: Santa Yoda vs Santa Darth Maul by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  4. It doesn't look like there is one in Alaska : https://lan.lego.com/lugs It might be an opportunity to start one.
  5. I guess they assume you'll display the back against a the wall of your house or shelf so it is not visible. Oh well, there is always room to MOD it to your personal tastes. That's because your web browser resized the picture for display on your screen size. I can tell it is 4000 pixels because it took forever to load on my slow Internet connection.
  6. I have no brains but the local public library can be a good source of books on the subject.
  7. Good work. Looks great. I suppose lack of camera means we won't be seeing a video of its functions? :(
  8. Yes, it is powered.
  9. Have you tried a different hose? Perhaps that blown hose didn't have the same amount of grip as the other ones. Or there is grease or dirt on the connection.
  10. I had 3 sets when I was 18. Since you are not 18 yet, you have lots of time to reach 1000+ sets before you even qualify for the Older Than Dirt tag on Eurobricks.
  11. Can the sides of building close with the Ecto-1 inside?
  12. According to my spreadsheet, I have 214 sets. My cat pissed into a tub of 1000 bricks. Did she win?
  13. Dimension and weight limits sound like TechBall. It's a lot of fun trying to meet the specs.
  14. Interesting and creative solution. Could you run into stability issues such as jack-knifing since the center of gravity of a big heavy machinery load being higher off the ground versus a lowboy trailer?
  15. Details like what country or region the deal is valid should be indicated in the post. Also the sales period and any conditions like online, in store only, buy 2, etc. So we aren't wasting our time clicking on links and finding out we can't make use of it because of international shipping is too expensive or the deal has expired...
  16. Parts can be purchased from Bricklink or see the Technic bargain thread for when those pull back sets go on sale in your area. Using uncommon parts can be a problem for those with spouse approved spending, lack of disposible income, poor student, etc. I guess it remains to be seen if participation is impacted, not that less competition is a bad thing. Contest time frame should have some room for contestants to purchase the part, hopefully that won't drive up BL prices with demand...
  17. Yes, it does. I like that the red button can also quickly return the servo to center. Now that you have a train remote, will we see a train crane in the future?
  18. Welcome aboard.
  19. Welcome to Eurobricks.
  20. Darn it, I really wanted the bee girl. Day 315 of 365: LGM Amusement by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  21. Very nice. I suppose he could use the newspaper.
  22. Very cute.
  23. Why would it be a disaster?
  24. I think the operator/driver/pilot cab can be one differentiator. Except for 42033, ever notice that Technic sets lack front windscreen for the driver/operator/pilot? There is no transparent part, just open air. Here is a MOD I did a long time ago. Does it look like it can fit into a CITY layout? Picture 4434 by dr_spock_888, on Flickr LOL. That's a great answer.
