  1. Very nice organ. Sounds very rich. Thanks for showing the construction innards. Learned something new.
  2. News of the music fair in Bardo have reached the shores of the Sea Rats Bastion. A couple of musically inclined pirates thought it would be fun and journeyed to Bardo to enter the contest. After they signed the contest entry form, they found out the hard way that Eslandola treated music differently than the Sea Rats. The MCTC music licensing fees had put them into the red. 4. No. But some AFOLs do modify their sets so that the steering wheel is on the correct side for their jurisdiction. You see people doing that with CITY sets too.
  5. Do we have to enter both A and B categories to qualify? That is correct. A challenge can not be used for a free build but it can be licensed.
  6. Yay, Adventure Time. It'll be interesting to see what the LEGO designers do with it. AT fans are still out there.
  7. I was lucky, those expensive sets were brought by the grandparents for the kids' birthdays and Xmas. Didn't have to 'invest'.
  8. I tried it before at an event and ran into problems with the PTO M-motor overheating and shutting down. It was 15 minutes on and 5 minutes to cool down. The Unimog PTO drive train should be redesign to have less friction if you plan to run it all day. I also had problems with the CV joint popping out. Definitely needs a more direct straight drive line.
  9. I think the Ideas set size is more a limiting factor than the price. From the LEGO Ideas - Blog: Some projects can challenge the rules we have on safe and good building experience for all LEGO builders. We can also have difficulties simply producing some of the larger projects with the production capacity we have for LEGO Ideas.
  10. If you send all your ships out on the MRCA and they all get captured or lost in a storm, then you get your free ship license. The Seas are a dangerous place. Safer to stay dry docked some times. There is no mention of refund in the rules. You would have to sell all your licensed ships to your friend, then your friend could end up playing the too many ship penalty before you get a chance to buy them back. The intent of the free license is to help players with no ships get going in the EGS game.
  11. It would be great if it can take into account of what bricks you have in your collection and optimize based on that so you can minimize costs too. I think there are professional software to do those kind of stress calculations. The licence fees are prohibitively expensive for the hobbyist. But it is nice to see complex software trickling down. There are now circuit design software under GPL licenses.
  12. Nice build and great story with suspense.
  13. Aye, tis an honour to serve the jury duty. Nice Excel sheet. Liquidity? Is that rich speak for account balance? I think a macro to show a hanging by toe pic in a cell when liquidity is negative could be a possible addition.
  14. If you have white walls and ceilings, you can try bouncing the flash off the ceiling. The flash can be on or off camera. Off camera would give you more placement options. Flashes are small and easy to setup and put away compared to other types of equipment.
  15. Using url will also work and save you 4 keystrokes from typing media twice. But you need to change https to http so it embeds with the screenshot.
  16. Most Power Function LEGO trains also allow for easy addition of PF LEDs for engine headlights. Instructions are included in the instruction manual but the PF LEDs has to be purchased separately.
  17. Cool. Congrats.
  18. Neat. I think I've seen Unimog on farm with conveyor. The conveyor is on the side of the truck picking up vegetables or hay as it drives forward.
  19. Which LEGO reputation are you refering to? There was a time not too long ago when ROI on molds didn't matter to LEGO nor did they had a good grasp of their operation costs. If a set needed a new part, they'd made a new mold for it. There wasn't consideration if the part was going to be used again or by another theme. Designers had free reign. Each theme was a vertical silo and did their own thing. They almost went bankrupt from it. Now they won't even approve a LEGO Ideas if it requires new molds to be made.
  20. Nice little cog. Maybe we'll see her in the MRCA?
  21. Corrington, Eslandola, Oleon. Hmm, where's the Sea Rats? What happens if the to be up licensed ship is captured or floundered before it could be up licensed?
  22. The leadership is aware of the issue. It is not necessary to give the leadership more paperwork on that issue. (If your amount is incorrect after the issue has been corrected, then do submit the form to address that.)
  23. Or maybe a heat gun. Live steam model builders use copper tubing which can be bended into shape. Technic pneumatic hose joiners are around 3.2mm outer diameter. I suppose you could use 3.2mm metal tubing in the tight spaces.
