  1. This train forum topic may be of assistance. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=104030
  2. I haven't encountered issues running NiMH rechargeable AAAs in my trains. I have extra AAAs recharging or charged while I have a set running the trains. I don't screw down my battery box so it easier to pull out and swap batteries. With the LiPo you can recharge it without taking out the battery box. Your train would be out of action until it is finished charging unless you have another one to swap in.
  3. From the Sbrick specs, it can handle: Continuous current per channel: 3A, if thermal limits are honoured Peak current per channel: 3.5A
  4. Have you tried contacting a LEGO User Group (LUG) in your area? You can find a list of LUGs in the LEGO LAN network: https://lan.lego.com/lugs
  5. The Martian. Pretty good, although how did they get gale force winds in the thin atmosphere?
  6. Well done. Very good landscaping. Where do you guys have it displayed?
  7. I think that is normal behavior of the 8878 rechargeable battery. It turns itself off after about 2 hours.
  8. They might fall under Artisan as they provide a service - such as training service or religious Mass service. Artisan: An artisan is a craftsman business, such as a blacksmith shop, tanner, barrel maker, etc… The MOC should clearly show an artisan’s shop. Services, such as taverns, are included in this category.
  9. Not wanting to spend a lot of money may mean you'll have to design and build a lot of it yourself with what you already have in pieces and what you can afford to get. There are ways to get amount of parts with out breaking the bank. Recently I got into a group buy of train couplers with a bunch of other builders. We Bricklink ordered a large amount from Germany and paid one shipping cost. It is cheaper than everyone making their own orders and paying individual shipping. LEGO store Pick A Brick wall is another way to get a lot of parts economically when they have the parts you want and you have the time to pack as many as you can into the cups. Basically you want to look at economy of scale and have a spreadsheet to grind out numbers for comparison shopping.
  10. A bag of magnetic train couplers (buffers).
  11. Anything above 11.8V will damage the Sbrick's motor driver chips according to the Sbrick spec sheet. You'll have to hack the Sbrick with a more robust motor driver IC.
  12. Haha. I used to visit MOCpages but not so much lately. Is it really a hardware problem? Could it be software? I think they had problems with their database in the past. Would this be more plausible? Day 069 of 365: Server Rack Down - I/O Error (Idiotic Operator) by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  13. I haven't noticed my 42030 Volvo loader draining any faster than my 8043 excavator. Servo motors generally have a position sensor built into the body to tell it the position of the shaft. The sensor shouldn't suck up large amount of juice. Use a multimeter to check if you have a parasitic drain somewhere.
  14. Very nice build. The pools of water and flower garden give it a very serene scene.
  15. Thank you everyone. Avast! Ye discovered the secret how the whale got away.
  16. It is autumn in the southern hemisphere.
  17. Welcome aboard, Jacob.
  18. Freebuild #3 March 2016 A Whale of a Tale Our pirate rats needed some whale oil lube but the whale would have none of that. The one that got away made for a tall tale at the tavern in Bastion. Whale of a Tale by dr_spock_888, on Flickr If you are not a member of the Sea Rats, you may give your approval and include your faction name.
  19. Procrastinating recharging the batteries for my MOC that I will be bringing to LUG meeting tomorrow.
  20. There is pay for the NMRA shows? How does that work?
  21. It depends on which forum you are in. It is still winter in this one.
  22. Nice cutter. The sails look good. I think that white washed deck is going to require constant maintenance.
  23. Very nice tavern. Studded floor do provide a measure of safety to prevent drunk patrons from falling over. There are greater liabilities with smooth tiled floors and Eslandola has a new lawyer in town.
