  1. Old defender is not as compromised on road as many think. I have both v8 petrol and Turbo diesel 110s and either of them will shame a lot of cars on road trips. Maybe not in straight road speed but on windy roads not much will get away from it. My brother used to ride with me and used to say you should see the look on peoples faces when they get passed by a vintage landrover
  2. Funny how many complain about not enough gears in a set, now we have unnecessary gears too. LOL.
  3. Off Topic sorry, but I wont be looking forward to any new so called Defender. I have two 110s myself. I am looking forward to the new parts in several of the new sets, especially the excavator and if the rumours are correct new hubs in the crawler, I will delay building my AC300 axles until I have these parts.
  4. It may be expensive for a set, but it is still cheaper than a lot of MOCs that people build.
  5. Anyone game to build a large crawler crane, the new parts lend themselves to it, new sprockets for larger track base, and the quadrants for the slew ring
  6. I have heard rumours of a large remote control excavator with 4 motors. And a price tag which is as big as the set.
  7. Better start saving now, it comes with a big price tag. Would be nice if it had a wider tread also but I doubt it will.
  8. And for transportation ;-) Some cranes have a camera on the tip, but you cant see much. Mostly you rely on a Dogman
  9. I am loving the new pieces we are getting and their usefulness. The only problem is that I have to keep starting my MOCs again because there is a new part to make it better. As far as sets go, I generally only buy them for parts, though more often I just buy the parts I need. I sometimes build the sets but only ones that appeal to me. I see a much greater range of sets being released now, catering for different age groups and markets. The previous years were 5-6 sets a year topped with a flagship the equivalent of the midsize sets now released, but we have bigger sets also available for those who want more. We have the sets now also which are aimed at other markets other than just technic fans with the licensed sets which are being marketed elsewhere like the Mack thru the Mack dealer network and the Porsche and Bugatti. Lego has always been to inspire people and that is why there are B models, sometimes great enough to be sets on their own, otherwise just to show that the set is not just one thing, it is a collection of parts to build whatever you want, not limited to someone else's imagination.
  10. Pretty sure the T600 I used to drive was a Cummins N14
  11. Nice Review. Thanks. Looks a neat set especially if your interested in boats.
  12. Very nice. Some interesting techniques also. :-)
  13. To me 42082 looks like it is still the old battery box and motor, no RC.
  14. need to get mine going one of these days, probably be easier to get my XP desktop going again.
  15. Currently have a lot more unbuilt models than I do built, I could probably build another 100 or so mocs but will most likely be one or two parts short for some of them. No matter how much you have there will always be some piece that you dont have, sometimes its the new piece that you didnt know you needed but it just got released in a new set and you need it now.
  16. I dont see a crane in your demolition machines Allan?
  17. Rough Terrain cranes usually steer independantly on each axle, front by the steering wheel and rear by a switch, not like a telehandler ;-)

  19. Thanks for that. I now have a few ideas for a figurehead after seeing the new Destiny's Bounty so will look at modifying it.
