    As Andman says, check the contacts on the plug, most times a small tweaking of the contacts is all it needs. From memory the motors use a different pair of contacts if they are used with a receiver than if they are used with a battery box directly.

    The orange gear selector ring meshes with two sliding rings, they both must be meshed to work properly, I fixed one that a 4 yr old had built and the orange selector was only meshed with one grey ring and gave simliar problems.

    I have been wanting to upgrade my MOD of 8275 ever since the new sprockets were released, but I guess I will wait for the new set now and work on a new crane instead.

    I am struggling to complete a large build, we have so many new parts released now that you end up rebuilding so many times to use better parts that you never seem to be able to reach the finish.

    Maybe its time for us old farts to embrace technology and get on board with it. Whilst this would be a great model with power functions it does truly showcase the possibilities for the control plus system, it truly can enhance the Technic system. I just need to learn more about programming the app and controllers, as I would love to add automatic gearboxes like this into some MOCs.

    I think we are just lucky with the parts count, I believe they try to fit sets into price groups, and this year we have a few with better parts counts than normal. It would be nice if it was a trend though.

    I only build a few sets, most of the ones I buy are kept in the box and resold later when someone wants one, the odd one is built but modified like the LR with the hub and motors from the crawler, otherwise I am just looking for the new parts to add to my collection for building MOCs, either from BL or Bricks and Pieces.

    I believe the powered up app is now customizable to build custom controllers, rather than the control plus app. Unfortunately I haven't gotten it to work on my current phone.

    Correct, NZ is RHD so changed it over. I had made the mistake of mirroring the engine also but have changed it back.

    Yes I was, trucks were there as well as some other exhibitors didn't turn up so filled their tables.

    I have replaced the wheels several times and replaced the bodies, some of my original bodies also have started jumping off the track due to the side lug that holds them on being worn. The tracks also need regular cleaning. still haven't found a fixall solution. Mine is about 3x the original size with two climbs and gets used at shows.

    I have been having the same problem since the B+P went back on, I usually order every couple of weeks but now it wont process payment at all, been trying for 4 days.

    Early sets had 10 metallic silver wheels, then some had six silver and 4 BG, then they had all BG. I had some of each, all bought at Kmart around the same time. Yes to the two different types of axle joiner, this was at the time the smooth one was being released so many got those. Also the pin joiner with slot appeared in some of these sets.

    Those prices look not too bad, was expecting much worse, mind you time they get the NZ site back up and inflate the prices to NZ$ they will be twice that.

    my J5 Galaxy only has Android 5 so had to upgrade my phone to download the app. Android 6.0 is minimum.
