  1. I sold my last Williams about 5 years ago, when I bought it the stickers were peeling so I emailed Lego, and they sent me a new sheet, I wish I hadnt given it away with the set. (insert head banging emoticon here) Good job on those stickers though, they do look good.
  2. http://ldd.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx?icmp=COUSCreateShareSL100LDD
  3. In case anyone didnt get the toyworld email, a couple of sets on big discount, agents mobile base and friends heartlake high down to $99 each.
  4. That was my suspicion, there was a mention somewhere that sometimes there are different molds for different colours, wasnt sure if it was true though.
  5. Except the crane book 6 seems to be missing
  6. 60098 is in the stores here. I have a couple of red versions of 7939 so probabaly wont buy this set. The backhoe and hopper I do like though.
  7. My yellow cargo locos now all have dual motors, it is easy to add a front motor and run the wiring up in the front of the loco so you dont need to use a reversing switch.
  8. The mold might not be the same for my DBG, but the black and Dark brown tracks are definitely shorter, over 60 pieces the length is 1/2 asection shorter.
  9. Overall length was not the same, the parts were identical molds but length for 60 pieces was considerably different, I didnt rebuild a model just for the sake of it. ;-)
  10. I had a problem recently when I changed from dark bluish grey tracks to black, the tracks were different lengths for the same number of parts, I ended up having to change the sprocket spacing by half a hole.
  11. Well done James. I see those posting their emails are new members who cant send PMs, but if you have sent the file they can edit their address from their post.
  12. For competitions insnt there a discussion thread, isnt that where you should post your intentions if you need to. Other threads which I see are builders threads which they post all their builds in a collective thread, many times these threads get filled with drivel and so dont bother viewing them any more, if it is a build worth posting then give it its own thread so everyone can see it. Perhaps we can have a new member thread like for instance the train forum, where new members can say hello and show any builds and be welcomed.
  13. Thanks to the ideas in this thead I modified Sheepos design by using two linear actuator holders I will try to get a pic later
  14. Two problems I have with my mobile crane are 1) making mechanisms strong enough to operate correctly without damaging parts, ( I have a few twisted axles to prove it), and 2) making mechanisms to do what is done ny computer in real life. Often new parts are released which will improve the build resulting in a hiatus until they become freely available then a redesign to incorporate them.
  15. Looks good so far, look forward to seeing it finished. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6119846
  16. My choice of those two would be 4564 but that would be after 4565 ;-) http://www.bricklink...SL/4565-1.jpg?0
  17. Funniest thing is at post #3 he said he had removed it already.
  18. I found the album, it was from 2012, one of the photos had a comment that the Fodens were about to be replaced with Freightliners. I worked for Daniel before I worked for Tim. Albert also owns Smithbridge but is now based in Australia. They are all brothers.
  19. Smith Cranes only have conventional Kenworths, a T600 I used to drive in the North Island, a T450 in Chch with a 544 Hiab midmounted is new on the road, and the T908 heavy haulage truck. Daniel Smith Industries has the cabovers, I think one was a tri drive and the other just a tag axle. Mackenzies ERFs were tractors, I cant remember seeing a Foden five axle tractor but that doesnt mean they didnt have one. I havent seen the album you are refering to.
  20. I worked with Mackenzies at the Auckland tunnel, I dont recall seeing a Foden 5 axle tractor with a hiab, they have mostly Freightliners, the Fodens were just tractor units, The Kenworth was a five axle but a rear mounted Hiab. I started at Smith Cranes as a hiab operator but am now a crane operator, mostly Franna AT20-3. The registrations for the show close on the 24 May. There is also a LUG social event next weekend at my place doing a community build for a show display. http://lug4x2.org/ Go to the events page for the link to the registration page.
  21. looks good so far. A Foden is an unusual choice, I know there is one in the North Island, I cant remember the company now. You might want to strengthen the L motor mountings a little. I havent added rear stabilisers to my Hiab truck yet, it is hopefully going to be RC'd before this years show so will add some then, the hardest thing is making them compact enough so the rear overhang isnt too great, otherwise it is hard to build a strong enough gooseneck on the trailer.
  22. Great look on the mountain so far, and surprising how much you have managed to fit in the space you have. Awesome.
  23. It sounds like you used http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=58181 instead of http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3939 , that would also explain why you could build it for that price. They (3939) were expensive when I built my shed a couple of years ago, I have built mine double but in reddish brown with the taller doors and windows.
  24. No Irish ones ;-)
