Technic General Discussion
Bricktrain replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I had an invoice on 3rd December for standard parts that I had ordered 20/11 but the charge to my card was not finalized and disappeared a few days later and I received no shipping notice. The orders both showed as in review on my account, the bestseller parts were shipped and received a few days later but still no standard parts. I received no reply to my query through the website so called last week and they have just made a new order for me to replace the two others which they say shipped in December though everything seems to indicate that they weren't. Hopefully this time they will come. -
Brings back a few memories, our first attempts at computing at high school were a Sinclair programmable calculator, a friend had a trs80 and then apple computers we started to learn on but mostly played games, Santa Peravia I believe it was called mostly. The RCX is what got me into Lego. I hope to get a computer that I built a few years ago running again, it has XP on it but the RCX can still be programmed with it, I had to replace the motherboard and graphics card after mice got into it, I have new ram sticks to put in it now to see if I can get it working. The biggest worry is my boot disk as the hard drives were striped and mirrored so won't be usable without the boot disk. It has been so long that I am not sure that I remember much of it now. Loving the work you are doing

Which motor will I need?
Bricktrain replied to TheLegoDr's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No, it needs a controller. The only simple battery box is the technic one. -

If you are mostly working with system bricks then the Batmobile powered up set 76112 had two m motors with studs and a AAA battery box like the trains. Might be a good set to start from. -

I wonder if this piece is used in the Lr13000 boom, it has possibilities for those sorts of uses.- 5,465 replies

I am waiting for a parts order that was shipped two months ago to arrive. I used to use bricks and pieces instead of pick a brick as the shipping service is pitiful but now have no choice where to buy them. I have been buying much less since they changed the system. Ours usually only take a few days from Denmark to NZ, that's why I preferred to use bricks and pieces to pick a brick, shipping from Poland is slow and unreliable, I had several orders not arrive. Now they have combined them I have no choice in where to order from. Their tracking never works.- 5,465 replies

My Bricks and Pieces order I placed on the 1st March included those and other new parts and I finally received it a couple of weeks ago, that order was placed before the system was changed. When I look back at the order on Lego.com the parts numbers are not shown on the order any longer, for any of the new parts, the 3 x 19 frames were about $4NZ each- 5,465 replies

42146 - Liebherr LR13000
Bricktrain replied to Ngoc Nguyen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
1 hub 2 motors in track frame, possibly the slew motor also, leaving 1 hub and 3 winch motors in the superstructure? -

The orange boom is called a Derrick, and is used in every configuration of the 13000. I suspect that the luffing jib will not be included, it increases the loads on the parts considerably, increases the complexity of rigging and erecting the crane, probably beyond the expectations of Lego for their consumers. -

Cross section of boom, not length. 42042 was 7x7 if the new piece is 17x7 then boom is going to be around 7 or 9 -

Maybe just a w shape? Seems like boom size is similar to 42042 then? -

2 track drive motors, 1 slew motor, 1 luff winch, 1 hook winch, 1 Derrick winch. No luffing jib. -

Many of my trailer chassis and dollys have 11x3 panels for the chassis rails, but there are limited connection points so these will be great to replace those.- 5,465 replies
