  1. The hammocks are just ingenious. The sterncastle look normal-sized in the context of the ship but gigantic when photographed on its own, so the ship must be bigger than it looks on the screen. I also like the slightly-overlapping and offset tiles to make the handrails. Great job, Dreamweb.
  2. Well. We're down to seven. That means the majority for a lynch is four. I suppose we're going to talk a little bit about the my role as doctor today, and some of you will believe me and some of you will not. And then the four people who voted for me yesterday (and others) will vote for me today and I'll be lynched. Yay! The scum almost successfully drove the lynch over to me yesterday. I want to talk about that. The four people who voted for me yesterday are: Brian Davey Mary Jane Claire Now, I trust that Mary Jane and Claire are town; so much so that I claimed to them before I came out in public as the doctor yesterday. That leaves Davey, whom I didn't trust yesterday and still don't trust today. But working from the mostly-accepted figure of two remaining scum, that leaves one in Lucy, Bobby and Jeanie. One of them is scum and failed to vote for me yesterday - a mistake for sure. I choose Jeanie because she's gone 180 degrees on suspects a couple of times, but we can talk about that. I had success when I protected Mary Jane last night.
  3. This is astonishing. Great job, TheBrickAvenger! The taper on the fuselage is a little weird-looking compared to the source material, but as a whole the plane is just gorgeous.
  4. A nice little scene. The rock-work looks very nice, especially the bit that points to the side and downwards. Excellent work for a quick build, and good luck in the contest.
  5. I don't know how I missed this post when it came out last week, but congratulations to all of the entrants and the winners definitely deserved recognition for their work. And of course a hearty "well done" to LegoCityMann who did such a good job organising this contest.
  6. Yoda's hut is very sweet; good job. The way you submerged the X-wing in the swamp is clever; that's a great idea. Maybe you could "freeform" the leaves in the swamp a little bit because they look too regular at the moment and the studs seem to make neat little rows. I look forward to the evolution of this WIP. Keep at it, DanSto.
  7. Oops. I just assumed that everyone who posts topics here is new.
  8. Maybe you could make an oubliette for your castle . A kitchen could stand to have some wine barrels, beds in the chambers should probably have four posts and drapes, you know. If you want some more inspiration, I recommend you check out Stephen Biesty's Incredible Cross-Sections and Castle by David Macaulay. They were very helpful when I built a castle out of foamcore and card a number of years ago. Mind you, not a very good castle, but the books were helpful nonetheless.
  9. Great job on this, Mark of Falworth! The room has just the right amount of detail and I love the use of tan and red with their dark counterparts. You took great photographs of the build, as well. I always like seeing what you make.
  10. Welcome to Eurobricks, commodore_legolas! I saw your Weird Al minifig over on flickr and it's very impressive that you got him to sign it. Have a fun time on this board!
  11. As per Shadows's admonition, my signing-up for Harriet Slutter is totally contingent on when Aperture Academy ends, and how Shadows and Darkdragon view my play over the course of the game.
  12. You mustn't expel me! I'm town, and the doctor, and if you expel me you'll be incredibly vulnerable tomorrow! You can't afford to lose a townie. Why don't you give me specifics about doubts that I can respond to?
  13. OK. I've realised that at this stage, it won't hurt anyone (other than scum) to say this: You must not lynch me today because I am the doctor. I had a little suberfuge worked out with Cameron. He would "look like" the doctor in-thread (and I would distance myself from the role) so he'd get expelled by scum if it got to that (and it did, but it kept me around). These are my actions (I am allowed to target myself but not the same person two nights in a row): Night One - inherited Night Two - forgot to send in action on time Night Three - Andrew Night Four - Cameron Night Five - Brian Night Six - Adriano Night Seven - Mary Jane Night Eight - Claire This is why I was really very hesitant to vote for Burton Guster (the possibility I had protected the right person). I also wanted to confirm Shawna as killer because of my action on Nights Three and Four. Going into tonight, I will have about a 1 in 7 chance of choosing the right person to protect, but I know whom I will protect if I have the chance. Oh - I was successful on all nights. I've never been blocked. My prime suspects for scum at the moment are Davey and Bobby. I am keeping my vote where it is.
  14. Davey says he suspects you of being scum and if he wants to look town he wouldn't pay attention to you. I, for one: Vote: Davey Osborne (Mencot) For a couple of reasons: I'm Town I suspect Davey of being scum He's the other lynch candidate today Lynching me is a really bad idea. No-lynch, even, would be better than lynching me.
  15. OK. I want to provide the help I've owed for a little while now. After a long lunch break sitting on the swings and playing tag with the laser turrets, I decided I would do a little research and present my findings to the class. I looked at the whirlwind bandwagon on John during Day Four. That still sticks out to me as the bandwagon left almost as soon as it arrived. Burton Guster gave the first vote for John Bender when he said: But at the time, there were votes out for Andrew Clark, Cameron Frye, Shawna Spencer and me. People cottoned on to the suggestion of John Bender very quickly, and voting for him overtook voting for Andrew Clark when Adriano switched his vote from Burton Guster. Once John Bender had four votes and Andrew Clark had three, voting quickly piled up. Chuckie Miller (scum) obviously wanted to make sure we as a group decisively expelled John Bender, because he voted immediately after Adriano. Claire and Bobby voted afterwards. Shawna (scum) finished the lynch on John (not surprising at all). I wonder if there were more scum than two putting the heat on John at the very end. Is Claire or Bobby (or both) a scum? Fingers have pointed at them in the past, so I wonder if it's worth thinking about those two. Maybe I'm just reading too much into what seemed to be a mostly-townie lynch, though two known scum pushed it to the end. I'm getting tired and hungry again now, so I'm off to see if the nice lunch lady has any food left, and then I'll take a nap. I'll wake up a bit later. this is al I have to say for the time being. I'm sorry I can't capitalize or spell. Like I said, I'm tired and I need a nap.
  16. I didn't want to know badly, I was just curious because no-one was contacting Cameron about it, meaning the blocker was suspicious of Cameron. Cameron wanted to know who the blocker was, and he thought you fit the bill. Knowing who the blocker was would have helped him build a stronger town because he was already in contact with the investigator and the doctor. I'm not pushing suspicion on you; I'm just trying to decide whether to vote for you and I think the evidence against is circumstantial. It's all about weighing pros versus cons. Claire wanted to know what i was doing, and let her know what I was thinking.
  17. I admit I should have read the thread more carefully before I disappeared at the end of Day Eight. And I know I haven't said very much today (or yesterday) but I have of late been at a loss as to what to say and how to vote. I don't know who feels left out of PM, but I feel that way a little now. I write ideas to see what people think, and get no response. Because I don't want to come charging out of the gates at someone. Hopefully we talk more, but that just hasn't been happening. ~~~ What I'm doing at the moment is trying to decide whether to vote for Davey. Lucy came out this morning accusing Claire of being scum, based on the huge assumption that Claire is the new scum killer. It was scummy that Davey sheeped her so readily. Davey does lots of things that look helpful, but I don't pretend to be helpful if I can't be. For example, he posted all of Adriano's marked-up votes with errors today and posted this picture yesterday: Yesterday when Adriano probed him about the different line styles and why he didn't green-circle himself, he responded with something John Bender told him to do, and didn't reason for himself: And in PM Davey straight-up told me not to suspect him of being scum many days ago. ~~~ So that's what I'm mulling over at the moment. It's just for my sake, which is why I haven't shared it with the group as a whole. There are plenty of people (other than me and Davey) who aren't contributing much: Jeanie, Bobby, Brian. So don't attack me for that. It isn't really valid to do that to me and not the others. ~~~ Brian, of course it's in your character to sheep any accusation on me. If you weren't the blocker's mouthpiece, you'd be pinging my scumdar all over the place. That you're definitely town is part of what puts me at a loss. ~~~ Also, since I'm town, talk more and vote less. I don't want what scum remains hammering me out of school because that would be devastating to us.
  18. Great job; it looks just like the original. Welcome to Eurobricks, karlvador!
  19. Very well-designed! You used rather a lot of pearl gold but all the pieces have their places. Good job making the front of the building interesting using those little steps and the fountain.
  20. Looks good, Sferath! Maybe you could try bringing the wings down at the edges, just by a little. The slope would make it pop right up!
  21. No, I don't think so. My memory for times and things isn't great, but if I'd seen Mary asking for votes on Chuckie, I'd have switched. And there's nothing new going on to share now. Seems I'm just your favourite whipping-boy (girl).
  22. Mary Jane, I agree with most of your sentiments. I'm still wary of Jeanie (long-term suspicion; others trust her), Bobby (gut feeling) and Davey (today's sting and long-term wariness) but I only expect a maximum of two are scum. I won't put numbers to how I feel, but I feel in order of towniness (excluding myself; I know I'm 100% townie) are: Brian Mary Jane Claire Lucy I think they're all fairly trustworthy students and I don't get that feeling from the three I'm wary of.
  23. This is going to sound really stupid, but I was busy at a formal party on at the end of Day Eight and hadn't adequately checked to see that Chuckie had been lynched. I got back close to the end of the day, but after Dragonsworth had closed voting. Claire was definitely less danger to scum than Adriano was (I mean, no-one trusted her after Simone) so I don't see why Adriano being expelled instead of her paints her as scummy. The thing is, you jumped onto Lucy's deliberately bad logic and tone. Look at this: Very dramatic, to give a sense of urgency. A little bit weird, but at the suggestion, you agreed that Claire must be scum. Stings happen, and it looks like one caught you.
  24. Your Third Doctor looks a bit too... old and severe. Maybe you could try this hair for him, though it's not entirely accurate. But you know what? Painted Superman hair might be perfect. The Fifth Doctor needs to look more crickety, but I can't suggest any parts. The Tenth Doctor would be a little more recognisable if you gave him sleepy hair. Two, Seven and Nine are definitely the best ones. Good job, SteampunkDoc!
  25. I'd put 'em in a box and keep them there until they needed to act out scenes for my latest MOC .
