  1. I'm still inclined to be suspicious of Davey because he's always at Claire's throat. Today, he was attacking the validity of the result and defending Simone against the investigation. Of course Black Mesa wouldn't want to lose one of their own, so the thing to do is to claim that Claire or the investigator (or both) is crooked. I am also suspicious of Burton: He's been lying low and he showed up today to state what was eminently obvious before this investigation result. Thinking is a wonderful thing, and we should still all be doing what you are, Adriano: take one scum today but not lose sight that there is still a group of them out there. But when the investigation result came around, Burton voted for Simone and essentially called the matter closed. We still have a good 36 hours left in this day; let's not call it over before it's over. The investigator probably got a "town" result for someone on Night One. Claire or the investigator (or both) probably still scum-reads that person - if that person is actually scum, then he or she is the Godfather. If you scum-read someone that you got a "town" result for, it's a bad idea to let everyone know who it is, because if they turn out to be town then you're in a bad situation. What? Are you defending or accusing the lurkers? And Re: Ricky, I think he's most likely a clueless townie, but we didn't have to lose him. We're more at risk to the scum now.
  2. Claire doesn't claim to have voted for two townies because of investigation results: this result is therefore an exciting development. I'm disappointed that the two of you are at each other's throats, but I've had my eye on Simone for a while now, and I'm more inclined to believe Claire than Simone. Therefore: Vote: Simone Adamley (Captain Nemo) I'm sad I didn't keep my vote on you yesterday.
  3. Has the investigator talked to you yet? It's been an awfully long time - seems like the investigator might have been blocked. Do we have any other information roles with useful results from last night?
  4. Sorry I'm late to class. My dog ate my alarm clock. Yesterday, I switched my vote from Simone to Wendy because Cameron told me I should, seeing as voting for Simone didn't get us near a lynch but Wendy was his favourite scum-read. And I paid attention to him. I'd have been perfectly happy with a no-lynch, and since we don't have many, if any, investigation, tracking, watching, etc. results to go on, I don't see why a no-lynch is such a bad thing. Better to lose one to scum overnight than to have scum expel one and us expel someone with only the vaguest of suspicions to go by. Cameron, I think you're leading us astray.
  5. I don't know, really. From a completely objective standpoint, probably a resounding yes. TLG have so many new parts that are useful in sets and MOCs, they have great licenses like Lone Ranger and Indy - and all that's great - but I'm nostalgic for turn-of-the-millennium LEGO sets in themes like Star Wars (I prefer the old Gungan Sub to the new one, for example), Castle and Adventurers. It seems to me as though TLG used to make sets out of very basic pieces, and now they don't quite so much. And I'd love it if TLG returned to the kind of ugly, very studded sets they used to make. Maybe it's because I don't buy LEGO much these days (not enough room or time), or that I still think of the current lines as they were 4 or 5 years ago, e.g. fantasy castle and what seemed to be a couple of really bad Star Wars lines, but I haven't seen too much change in TLG's products over the past few years. However, I know Architecture for one is definitely an improvement from what TLG had several years ago, and so are LotR and The Hobbit.
  6. Looks great! The trees are all very well done, and I like that you can hardly see the "humble crossing" in the first picture you posted.
  7. No-one else will vote for Simone, I suppose, so here goes: Unvote: Simone Adamley (Captain Nemo) Vote: Wendy Beamish (Wedge09) I hope you're sure, Cameron. I'd be perfectly happy starting tomorrow like we did today, but with night actions in the mix.
  8. I honestly believe Claire is one of us. I mean, she gave Ricky what was a very compelling reason not to vote for her and, though scum can and do lie to save themselves. I think it's worth more leaving her allegiance to the cop tonight than voting out someone who is very committed to outing scum. Tomorrow we can see what the result was. I know I'm really late to this whole voting thing - I lost track of time in the depths of Billie Joe Armstrong's eyes. That said: Simone, you were already on my radar before you, so: Vote: Simone Adamley (Captain Nemo)
  9. It's always good for us to vote out the unhelpful people, especially the ones who are being willfully so. Ricky regretted his vote for Claire, so obviously at least two people know what's going on, and I have town reads on both of them. I definitely think Ricky would be another Bud if we expelled him. Andrew seems to be a low priority today and Simone has started contributing, so I think my suspicions have moved on. Vote: Wendy Beamish (Wedge09) Unvote: Wendy Beamish (Wedge09) I think I'll leave it for now and see what comes up soon.
  10. Wow! The huge contrast of scale put together with the colour really makes the forced perspective pop.
  11. As it stands, there are a couple of people about whom I feel uneasy. The first is Andrew Clark. Yesterday, he said: He separates us into two groups (there are still a handful of people who post neither a lot nor very little), which is basically obvious from the start of any situation of rooting out bad guys from an exciting, stimulating, healthy environment such as Aperture Academy. He also admits he flew under the radar and says he's too busy researching the situation to post more than once in a blue moon. Does he have any research he wants to share at the moment? Comments? Suspicions? No - at the moment, Andrew has excused himself to research and then not made anything of it. If he stood up and told us where is research is getting to, that would be great. Another person who looks suspicious is Davey Osborne. Mary Jane voted for Wendy because she (Mary Jane) didn't want to join the bandwagon on Bud. The following was Davey's comment: He complains that Newton shows up and says very little in the way of meaningful things. Eh - that's an acceptable reason to find someone scummy. Davey changed his mind less than an hour later, though: One would assume Davey had found something out about Wendy, prompting the vote. Counterproductively, Davey provides no explanation for the decision. The reason could have been that Davey wanted to drum up suspicion on another townie. Or was he scared of vote analysis? Regardless, I'm keeping my eye on him. A third person on my radar at the moment Simone Adamley. At the start of the day yesterday, she was very excited to be part of the Aperture Academy and then dropped out until the end of the day, only returning to vote. Today, she says: Thanks for stating the obvious. I know my questions are in the vein of political advertisements, but in the absence of public information (such as investigation results) we can talk about, asking about peoples' behavior is all I can do. Nota bene I wrote the above several hours ago and only just posted it.
  12. I don't have anything to talk about and I haven't been PMed by anyone talking about investigation results, so there's nothing I, myself, can contribute except some comments and suspicions based on people's actions yesterday. I know that night action results are more important and productive than plain old suspicions (n.b. yesterday), so I'll wait a little for someone to post a little birdie's results before I air out my thoughts.
  13. Dragonsworth implies here that there isn't a serial killer amongst us, so it's essentially certain that the black figure was a Black Mesa. I just hope we can track them down starting today! And there's no point speculating about how many Black Mesa there are; we just need to take it bit by bit, investigating at night and putting our theories together during the day. When there are no more scum we will have won! But, because in the post I pointed to, Dragonsworth says there may be 3 times as many townies as scum, which suggests there are 5 or 6 Black Mesa have infiltrated us. But bah! let's find scum instead of guessing how many there are.
  14. I agree with Cameron; it does look as though Sloane was our vigilante. I suppose Newton's expulsion was to have been expected; he was suspiciously inactive yesterday. I'll come back when class livens up, but I'm off for the moment to do some homework, listen to MCR and think hard about what was said yesterday.
  15. Lovely pictures! Your character seems to be in a good place from which he can start interesting stories. Except perhaps he should wear this helmet. Perhaps I should join GoH and have fun as well.
  16. So many colours! How did you support Loki? Is a stand photoshopped out?
  17. Maybe it's because we hang out in different social circles, but I fail to see your obviously superior nature. You have not explained adequately what makes you a natural leader, and you haven't shown us any leadership. We still don't know why you are our best bet. If they want to spy on us for a long time, Black Mesa probably will target the people who show analysis of behavior to track scum down. If the people who are outspoken sow confusion, Black Mesa will leave them. We cannot afford for that to happen. You've had a long time to do this. Instead you've talked incessantly about your virtues but have not shown them in action. We can't afford to keep around a willfully obtuse person who puts us at risk. Vote: Bud Fox (Tohst) Why don't you skip town and run back to The Hamptons?
  18. Very nice and huge! The work on the arches at the front of the building is very nice - well done!
  19. Back to names, are we? Whilst it might be interesting to work out whose names come from where, I doubt that our aliases mean anything in terms of Aperture Academics vs. Black Mesans. I don't think the numbers mean anything, either. Y'know, our names and hair don't mean anything, but what we are on the inside does. Me? I'm that cloud over San Francisco, waiting for my feelings to well up until I cry into my poster of Billie Joe Armstrong. Everything is getting complicated here; my time to rain might be soon. But for now: Unvote: Davey Osborne (Mencot) I'm think you're a townie now, since I don't think a scum would draw attention to himself like that, but... really??? You claim to be a leader but haven't shown any leadership to us in public. These comments are a bad attempt at softclaiming some kind of powerful personality hiding under your aloof prep attitude, and now you're probably on the Black Mesa's expulsion list. If you don't want our class to expel you, you should probably bring out your suspicions and hunches. Time to listen to American Idiot on repeat, I think.
  20. When I said we could only throw accusations around, I meant that in the case we had no useful information or suspicions, but you ended up being the focus of the accusations. Everyone was pointing fingers at you because early in the day you were very unresponsive to Craig's question about numbers, that maybe you were scum because you didn't want to reveal something and were deliberately unhelpful to us. But you've started talking about what you think about the people who are going after you and that is worth something to the town. Vote: Davey Osborne (Mencot) I am voting for the one who is being deliberately unhelpful still. Davey says he has useful information such as a number, a "Pack of Brats" and links between people in our class. I hope my vote will bring him around to contribute and if it does, I will unvote him.
  21. Replying to your concerns in order: That's not quite right. Claire just pointed out that if Ricky were Black Mesa, one of his little buddies would have told him to shut up long before he got his head up his eggs. That is a good point. Why do you have to conform to social norms, Ricky? Don't feel that the people you are angsting with have to dictate your behavior - show them who you are, but try not to overwhelm them. Not every conversation is about your chicken suit. I think probably "just stupid" - so does Claire - but we may find ourselves expelling Ricky if he continues his pervasive school spirit schtick. I only made a guess as to what Newton was doing, since voting for people who don't say much is a way of making them talk. Nope - I'm sorry I gave you that impression. I was trying to end the conversation about retaliatory votes against you and me, not start a bandwagon on Ricky. I had an early accidental kind of tunnel-vision on Ricky, so Bud and Davey went by the wayside to some extent (especially since they haven't posted a great deal). I see why you interpreted that as implicit support of Bud and Davey. However, I've realized that Ricky is probably not the person we are looking for today, seeing as Bud is hiding behind his preppiness and Davey behind his Gothicness, with both seeming to be deliberately unhelpful. I need to go back to my room and angst now. I'll come and hang out in a little while.
  22. It seems the vote is for Craig and not for me, but all we did was poke you for your seeming lack of insightful contributions. Like Cameron said, that's OMGUS. I was thinking just this when I was in my room angsting! Ricky is probably just too giddy from wearing that chicken suit all day; let's lay off him for the moment. He's not a problem right now. But if he continues being unhelpful, scum or town, he will end up being a problem. All we can do is throw around accusations today. And hope that if we expel someone, we got a Black Mesa.
  23. Sorry I was gone for a while. I was busy clipping my nails into points. I know that judging by names and appearances seems to be a Hot Topic around here, but can't we all accept one another for who we are? They say actions are worth more than hairstyles. Let's tell each other a little bit about ourselves. I'm Allison, from San Francisco. I'm about as cheerful as San Fran's weather. My favorite hobby is driving in the rain whilst listening to music, y'know? I get inspired, like suddenly someone could t-bone you. You realize you have no complete control over your life (...Shadeaux), that you're a delicate flame in a rainstorm. And just like drop! No more you. I wonder why Ricky Sanders isn't contributing despite the number of times he's spoken? Quit that chicken pretension, as though you're trying to impress someone, and just talk. We can work Black Mesa out, just by talking amongst ourselves.
  24. Dude, I'm expressing myself. Don't judge by appearances. My student number is 15: how old I was when I discovered Green Day .
