A big thanks to Jason who took notice and contacted me for this to potentially become a product at their store. When redesigning it I had to make it stable and strong enough as well as making it aerodynamic, the original design was too blocky. I'm quite confident that is is the best outcome for a mini Milano spaceship design. I hope you enjoy it too. I really hope you enjoyed this MOC and plan to purchase one; feedback and criticism is much appreciated. Available to purchase at: TheBrickShowShop.com Adeel

Location: E09 Castral Tags: spaceship, base Ok, I arrived here on Castral, the dropship dropped me and promptly left. I don't feel abandoned at all. Forest is everywhere, but this spot is quite plain. Perfect. We are tracking you from the sat. Head nord-west to reach our outpost base. Fine, i'll walk there. It's not like the dropship could have left me a little nearer. It's just five kilometer, you'll reach it in no time. Roger. Sigh. Some time later Our sensors say you should be exacly near the base, can you see anything? Not an outpost base. There's nothing around here but this big fatty spaceship. It's it. Reach for the panel in the front, open it and enter the code you were given in the mission briefing. Sure. The one i should have memorized? Yes. Uhm. Tell me the code YOU know, so i can compare to the one I know and see if you're really my mission operator. How are you suddendly so security minded? Ah forget it. The code is Open Sesame. Ahah, ok, that checks. See? We're now sure there's no infiltrator involved! Actually the access code is AJE3-VDSS-234D. Your ineptitude will be reported. Sigh. Ok ok let me enter the code. A... J... E.. Uh.. I... forgot the rest. Some time later I did it! WOW! The spaceship actually unfolded to reveal an outpost, with supplies, communication antenna, laser defence and everything! Yes. It's an Octan Foldable Outpost Base. One of our latest product in the Conquer Worlds line. I love it! There's even a solarium on the top! Take stand in there and waits further instructions. Over. To be continued..

Location: Marphacia Tags: Kawashita, Marphacia, Airplane, Spaceship, Military I think I may be getting noticed! During my tour on Sorn, I managed to locate a MANTIS convoy and wound up shooting down two planes and sinking a transport (all in fine style, of course!). Then Aera came in with her Hiryu and, well, there wasn’t much left. So it seems that things are improving… Now, I’m flying recon over Marphacia in a Zephyr interceptor. The Peregrine was a great ride with firepower, but this little puppy handles like nobody’s business! It may not be packing as much of a punch, but with twin phase pulse blasters and two 11-shot “Pepperbox” mini-missile launchers, I can hit pretty hard and then split in a hurry, calling in some bigger guns if needed. Now I just need to find some Bugs to swat! Marphacia. Primarily jungle and swamps. Hot, sticky, nasty. Man, God bless the drivers and explorers like Commander Turtle, Mister S, and Dragonfire. Why they would want to hike around in the mud and humidity while avoiding nasties that want to grab, slime, sting, and chomp a bite out of your bottom is beyond me. Nope. Give me the wide-open expanse of space or sky, the unrestricted freedom of flight. But, I will help those mud-marchers out as much as I can… All right! Kawashita really needs to address the issue of safety! These techs are unbelievable! They should know not to hit the suction function on the fuel cart when the hose is detached and there’s somebody near it! I mean, really? The fact that the guy nearly fell to the floor laughing didn’t help, either. This one was fun! I like the small, compact builds I’ve been seeing and decided to try another one myself. It is a rather simple build, but I like how it turned out. I’m really pleased with the missile launchers. They work better than I had hoped. Just wish I had a different color for the engine thrusters so that they would stand out more.

Location: A07, Lesser Direstan Tags: Kawashita, Spaceship, Airplane, Lesser Direstan Kawashita KS-78 Reppū (烈風, "Strong Gale") Technical Notes: Designed as an upgrade to the venerable Kawashita KS-47 Shōkaku (翔鶴, “Flying Crane”), the Kawashita KS-78 Reppū is a multi-purpose fighter escort capable of operating in all environments. Boasting a broader wingspan than its predecessor and making use of a pair of the new, more powerful KE-199 engines, the Reppū has more varied ordinance options, given more hard points. The fighter has additional storage space allows it to take part in reconnaissance and exploratory missions as well. The Reppū is fast becoming a favorite among Kawashita pilots. Still, there are adherents to the Shōkaku citing more nimble behavior in close-quarter dogfights. Aera’s Diary: We began arriving on Lesser Direstan a few days ago. Right away the planet struck me as unique with it red and white vegetation. It’s truly bizarre to be surrounded by bright red and slivers of white as far as the eye can see. We’ve mostly been on patrols and doing recon missions - getting eyes on new locations, escorting transport ships - these kinds of things. They say there’s a lot of alien activity here, but where we’ve been stationed I’ve yet to see anything. There’s reports of huge creatures that fly in the upper atmosphere. Dangerous as that sounds, that’s something I’d like to see with my own eyes. We came here with the new K78’s. I love this thing! Everything we’ve been asking for seems to have come through with this design. It’s rare as a pilot not to have to ask for many performance tweaks. Aki will be happy I’m off his case and he can focus simply on maintenance!! \(^-^)/ We’ll see how it holds up, but so far it’s a dream come true. I think Kai sleeps in his. I swear, I rarely see him out of its sight! Scramble alert! Seems a team got pinned down encountering aliens while out surveying and we are close enough to respond. Orders have come through to lay down some suppressing fire so they can get out of there. Guess I’ll be seeing some of this world’s alien life after all! Comments: My first MOC on these forums and my first build after quite a long hiatus from Lego. A bigger project than I anticipated, but I had an image in my head of what I wanted since I first started reading about AG last week, so I wanted to try and build it. Some things were challenging, but I had fun and I learned a lot. There’s still more to do and more that I had in mind, but I’m quickly running out of time. I’m rebuilding my Lego collection from scratch - slowly - so I’m starting with digital work. There’s been a learning curve, but thanks to some kind posters here I’m successfully able to render on my Mac. I did, however, run into a part error and it simply won’t render the part properly - it’s twisted and out of shape. Looks too weird to post that way. I need to troubleshoot. Could just be that part, or maybe a new version is out there somewhere. As a result, this week’s build needs to be shown as LDD screenshots. I’m really disappointed about that - I hope that’s ok! I didn’t wish to miss this week trying to fix it. This is still a WIP - until it isn’t - but it’s complete enough now to be my entry for this week. As there was a last minute sortie, I may put up some images showing the air-to-ground load out. I may also update with an image or two of a complimentary element of the scene I was originally going to do with this (but now being unable to render this week, I’m not sure about that). So stay tuned for possible tweaks and updates! Hope I did everything right and hope you enjoy. More images hidden behind the spoiler. ~ iku Kawashita!

Kawashita has ships that transport supplies between planets, and the Seraphim class vessel is one of the smaller vehicles that preforms this job. Each Seraphim class cargo hauler is equipped with a spacious, comfortable cockpit. They can each haul one container filled with whatever supplies Kawashita needs for their next mission. The crate is held on with magnets. Which are recessed in the body of the ship.

---------- Log 2 - The Windblades Objective N.R Marcus has been assigned his first real mission in the Andromeda System: extracting compacted Awesomnium on Lesser Direstan aboard the Katogari AE-5, a light and agile craft able to cut even the sturdiest surfaces… ---------- My stay on Greater Direstan didn’t last long. The councilman known as Mr. Nagashi assigned me a high priority mission on Lesser Direstan, a neighbouring planet en route to Guinevere. He told me the Council was selecting a number of pilots, engineers, scientists and explorers from different branches to lead class-2 missions across the quadrant as a type of trial. “You pass the test, you graduate to class-2. You don’t, you get left behind”, he told me with a smirk on his face. I know he wasn’t jokin’. A friend told me about these sorting methods in Kawashita. They value Honor, but we gotta fight for what they call honor. We gotta tell ‘em we’re worthy of our place. Not sure it’s ethical… Let’s call it logical. In the early morning, as the 2nd fleet was spreading across the coast, I left on a transport carrier to Lesser Direstan, still oblivious of what my class-2 mission was supposed to be. Halfway through I got a transmission telling “all pilots to report immediately in the hangar bay”. I lurched there with a quick pace, hiding my legs’ weakness when people would pass me by. When I finally arrived in the bright and wide hangar, I saw about 50 crafts lying around, ready for departure. I knew what was going on before we even got the mission status by a tall KG fleet officer: “I’ll make it short. What you’ve got here is the Katogari AE-5, a perfect blend of manoeuvrability and strenght, gift of our best engineers. Double sail engines, 50K capacity pod and your two new friends: twin plasma cutters. And baby do they cut.” He moved back and forth in front of us, never looking at us in the eyes: “Our explorers found something very interesting going on on Direstan’s surface. Following canyons where giant rivers used to roar, they scanned very old rocks as sharp as knives. They call them Windblades. They found tons of hidden awesomnium inside these rocks, turned blue after being compacted for who knows how many years. Your mission is simple: drop over the rock, extract the blue stuff, don’t crash in a wall and come back for 1300. There have been reports of alien sightings, so watch out. Good luck pilots.” (...) “What are you doin’ there Ash?.. What the heck is that?” “Well, isn’t it obvious? It’s a snowman!” “We’re not here to play, mate. It’s a class-2!” “There was an awesomnium pocket in there! I couldn’t cut it another way, I swear” I was surprised at how relaxed he seemed, how he could make fun of its job… It wouldn’t kill anyone if he made a mistake… Well… Maybe I was taking this too seriously… Or I guess that deep inside, I found the Windblades so magical I didn’t want people to break ‘em too hard. “Hurry up Marcus, I want us to be the first to cross that finish line! Ahem... Report to Alpha, Alpha do you hear me?: Extraction mission completed. Coming back to you Alpha. No alien encounter, but tons of Awesomnium. May Kawashita bring fortune. ---------- Katogari AE-5 Blueprints (Play features: Landing gears, retractable pod and removable gear) Mining Equipment Blueprints (Thruster pack and plasma drill) First appearance of the Dust Demons technology can be found in mccoyed's Angry Angel archives. ---------- ** LOG 2 CHALLENGE: Can you spy with your eagle eye... the Classic Space reference? ** P.s: Sorry for the long story, pictures-heavy post and the bad pictures (IMO)... I have to buy/set a studio soon!.. Right now I use bad weather daylight + books as a tripod (...) Wish you could see the model in real life.

Rei Kazama: [ Well, about that... ] Aera Lure: Ok, never mind, Ensign. Carry on! Rei Kazama: [ Yes sir! ] Kawashita KS-47 Shōkaku (翔鶴, “Flying Crane”) :: Aera's Diary :: 13 Julali 3815 1232 hours Having just completed a training mission in The Fascini Cluster, we were called in at the last minute to Aeristus to support the fighting there. The Murasame came into low orbit and I took my newly formed team on a flight patrol in the Shōkaku we used among the asteroids. M.A.N.T.I.S. is a tough opponent, so I hope they're ready. The Shōkaku's superior maneuverability may give them the edge they need. :: Technical Notes :: The Kawashita KS-47 Shōkaku (翔鶴, “Flying Crane”) is a long serving fighter in the Kawashita fleet. Originally meant as a replacement to the Flying Crane, the Kawashita KS-78 Reppū (烈風, "Strong Gale") developed instead into a heavier armed strike fighter. While the Strong Gale boasts more firepower and tougher armor, the Flying Crane still has the edge in maneuverability and is favored by some veteran pilots for one-on-one combat. The Flying Crane can still be seen on the front lines in most Kawashita air superiority missions. There is a rumor that a true successor to the Flying Crane is in development, but most consider it unlikely.

[K - A05] The Heart of Awsomnium Location: A08, Crentium Tags: Spaceship, Building (the hangar, the judges will have to decide if it counts), Science, Kawashita Before we begin, this story is a direct continuation of Agent Beltar's post "A Strange Deal" which was posted earlier this week, so it will make a lot less sense if you haven't read that one. It's also the culmination of a 3 week storyline I have been doing (previous entries: "More Than Meets the Eye... and The Investigation Continues...). Earlier this week, I discussed with a friend and fellow AG builder. He said that I should probably build a little smaller, since the details might get lost when the size gets too big. I pondered upon this and thought "yea, that makes sense... I should start building smaller things". Then I completely f*cked that up and went on to build my largest build yet. The spaceship is a bit over 3900 pieces, and then there are various scenes, etc. on top of that. The design might seem a bit odd at first, but take into account that it's supposed to be a prototype for testing this particular engine. Now, let's begin. (Since Bluerender renders transparent images very dark, I've decided to include unrendered versions under the Spoiler button directly after the renders. Also, isn't it odd how much "Light Stone Grey" in LDD looks like white?) --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log Begin. Date: 1307(38)15. Scramble code: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... [Encrypted].//-- [Alpha level clearance check... ... ... ... ... Passed.] As expected, Agent Beltar "came by" earlier. After making sure he received the mail from Lauren, I was pretty certain he would seek me out, and that I would get my pilot for The Heart of Awsomnium. When we got down to the hangar and he first saw the ship, Beltar immediately let out a little gasp. It was clear that he was impressed, despite doing his best to hide it. Recording... begin: Beltar: You want me to pilot... that? Q: Yes. Remember, if you do this for me, I'll get you your files on Lauren. Beltar: *Sigh* Fine, so what is it that is so special about this ship? What do those rings back there do? Q: The Heart of Awsomnium is the first recorded attempt of teleportation by mankind. Beltar: *O_O* What?! Q: I know it may be hard to grasp. A couple of weeks ago, we came across what seemed to be an Awsomnium generator created by an ancient civilization. However, some things were quite off about it. It didn't seem to have any way of outputting the energy, and we found it in the middle of the ocean, not near any other recorded ruins. So, I ordered a team to bring it here in order for me to study it. After a few days, it was clear that my suspicions were correct; it was the remainder of an old teleportation experiment. After a lot of tinkering and even more calculating, I finally managed to create this prototype drive. It is still fairly large, but I hope I can reduce the size over time. The "rings" which you refer to are part of a black hole generator, which has enough pull to fold space-time, thus creating a wormhole between your current location and the destination, which you will go through. Beltar: So... you wish me to become swallowed and spit out by a black hole? Q: If you want to put it like that... yes. Based on my calculations, the shuttle should be able to withstand the pressure, and you should survive. Beltar: And then you will give me the files I need? Q: Yes. [beltar ponders for around half a minute.] Beltar: Fine, in for a penny, in for a pound, right? Also, if this goes according to plan, I'll be the first teleported human! Q: Yes, I suppose. I have downloaded PauL into this smaller astromech droid shell, which will fit in the dock of the ship. The ship is ready whenever you are. [beltar boards the ship and flies it out outside the Kaiju.] Q: I have set the ship's coordinates so that you will be teleported to Marden. It's a peaceful planet within our area of control, so you shouldn't have any problems. As soon as you arrive, set up a comlink to me, and I'll have the coordinates for you to be teleported back calculated. Beltar: Roger that. [beltar takes a deep breath, closes his eyes and turns on the teleporting device.] Beltar: Am I alive? I am alive! Yattaaaa! Wow, awsome, I am the first teleported person! You rock Nu'q! Q: Uhm, all those are technically correct, but it seems you have ended up near Mynderis instead. Also, it seems like you ended up right next to a large M.A.N.T.I.S. fleet. Beltar: Oh, it's gonna be one of THOSE days... Recording... end. The prototype testing was in the end considered a success, despite the loss of The Heart of Awsomnium. The incorrect location of the teleportation device was found to be a result of a minor miscalibration in the calculation software. This has since been fixed. Thanks to its highly explosive Awsomnium core, it seems like the Heart of Awsomnium was completely destroyed and thus unable to be recovered by the nearby M.A.N.T.I.S. fleet. Preliminary readings suggest Agent Beltar managed to escape. His current whereabouts are however unknown. --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log End. Signature: Col. QL. Scramble code: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... [Encrypted].//-- More pictures under the (sixth) spoiler button. C&C always welcome!

Mission 02-Lesser Direstan Kawashita, Spaceship, Exploration Mission 02, I have my job in the Kawashita Corporation. My first job went smoothly and I have earned some credits. The CEO and Executives have sent me on my second job. Lesser Direstan. I have brought a 'fast mover' spaceship with to quickly scan the region I was assigned too. The bosses want the planet mapped out and checked for anything profitable. I'm placing ground probes that will send back the scanning information found in the area. This will take me less time than they expect and allow me just enough free time to catch up on my sleep. The probes at least have a anti-gravity device, no way I want to throw my back out trying to unload them. Some adjustments for atmosphere conditions. I think I'll also turn on the life form detection system. I figure there has to be some alien life forms on this planet. All set, now to remember to close up the back. Narbilu tore me a new one when I forgot and I lost two probes.....one of which landed on his dojo. All set, cockpit canopy open and I am outta this place. Time to see what is on the job list. The landscape for this was something I didn't put time into since it is my sons little micro fig battle field. He wasn't really pleased with me this morning :)

[K - A06] Arrival at the Behemoth Kaiju So, you guys know the drill. I plan on doing something smaller for this week's build. I fail. This week I failed especially hard, considering that the Kaiju space station is ~6000 pieces (of which the space station itself is ~2500). However, I had great fun doing it, and I'm especially happy that everything could be done using legal techniques and pieces (so, if someone wanted to build it IRL, just contact me!). About the build; the base plate is 48x55 studs, no idea how tall. The high quality rendering took around 10 hours using LDD to POV-Ray (I should probably switch to Bluerender soon... I think some images would even look better using it, for example I'm not super-happy about the fourth rendered picture). After the "story", I included a little discussion regarding the size of the station, including calculations and assumptions, if anyone is interested. Also, when I edited everything together, I kinda noticed that the some of the parts resembles certain German WW1 and WW2 symbols. This is purely unintentional, so if anyone feel offended, I'm terribly sorry. C&C always welcome! --//Recording of a private conversation. Date: 2106(38)15. Scramble code: oaffalHLAkj2nj4lmkaa.//-- Narbilu: Hey, Q, everything okay with you? Q: Yes sir, everything is awsome. The new mines on Guinevere pump out gold at a steady pace, and our military bases should be able to keep M.A.N.T.I.S. at bay. Narbilu: Okay, that's great... how about... the wasps? Q: What do you mean sir? Narbilu: Well, you know, those private recordings we have... they aren't really private. See what I'm saying? Q: ... Narbilu: And, you know, as our chief engineer, you don't have to be at the front line all the time. Q: I don't? Narbilu: No. Q: ...but what about my awsome looking guns that I carry around with me all the time? Narbilu: You don't have to carry around them either. Q: I don't? But I thought they were standard requisition. Narbilu: *Sigh*, okay, first of all, you are a Colonel, and between you and me, soon to become a Brigadier General, so you don't have to use standard requisition. Second of all, have you ever seen any of our troops carrying around weapons like that? I mean, seriously, where did you even get them? And, I mean, you're an engineer, why would you even need those? Q: ...because they look awsome? Narbilu: *Sigh*, you know what. One of our Behemoth class space stations, the Kaiju, has arrived at Guinevere. You were in charge of designing them, so hop on the next Akena, take a tour around it, and see what can be improved. Since most of our gear is either manufactured there or ships via it, you will still have full control of our operations at Guinevere. Does that sound okay? Q: Sure, can I bring my guns? Narbilu: What, why wou... yes, fine, whatever, yes, you can bring your guns. The next Akena leaves from forward base 37/4-Gamma in 2 hours. Make sure you catch it. --//Recording of a private conversation stop. Scramble code: oaffalHLAkj2nj4lmkaa.//-- --//Private Log Begin. Date: 2206(38)15. Scramble code: 123StopListeningToMyPrivateStuff.//-- Heh, I love playing dumb with Narbilu. He gets riled up so quickly. Of course I know they are listening to all my private recordings. I generally like being on the front lines. Keeps you alert and makes sure you really understand what your men need. Not Guinevere though. Crappy piece of dust with those d*mn wasps. Guinevere is the 'Gates' equivalent to that place from those ancient Terran stories... Bruges, I think they call it. Anyway, it's good to be back on the Kaiju. Last time I saw her, she was in the space docks above Orinshi being built. Oh how far you have come my beautiful gargantuan lady. The Behemoth class space stations are truly the masterpieces of the Kawashita Group. Currently, there are two active; the Kaiju, and the Atlas, which is en route to Traig IV as I record this, with a third one, the Shiva, being built in the Orinshi space docks. The Behemoth class space stations are 100% modular and consist of three main types of parts; Residential, docks/engineering and science facilities. The residential areas are the big "rings". They have an independent propulsion system in order to create artificial gravity and super high speed MAGLEV elevators for transportation to the core. The Kaiju has two types of residential areas. The larger ring is configured for non military personel, i.e. science, engineering, miners, settlers, etc. The smaller rings are configured for military personel due to their proximity to the dock/engineering bays. The docks/engineering bays come in three different sizes depending on the type of ship. The largest host Ad Alpha class ships, including carriers, settlement, mining and maintenence vessels (in the docks closest to the largest ring), in addition to docking solutions for Dreadnaughts such as the Akena class. The second biggest host Alpha class ships and the smallest host fighters and bombers. Since gravity is not as important in the docks, it is simulated using directed magnetic fields. The dedicated science facilities on the Kaiju are fairly limited. There is an observatorium at the top of the station and a... sensor array on the bottom for... picking up signals? However, there are a lot of makeshift laboratories in the largest residential ring. Perhaps this is something that can be improved upon? Apparently there were some major destruction in one of the sectors after two junior researchers injected some sort of yellow reptilian creature with Awsomnium without the knowledge of their superiors. According to them, they had heard that "M.A.N.T.I.S. are doing it everywhere and creating a new breed of super-strong biological weapons". Seriously, why would anyone come up with an idea like that? It's just stupid. --//Private Log End. Signature: Q. Scramble code: 123StopListeningToMyPrivateStuff.//-- Discussion: 1. Regarding the size of the space station; when I decided to introduce the Akena class Dreadnaught to the build, my idea was that they were around 1.5 kilometers long (i.e. roughly the size of an Imperial Star Destroyer). This would make the bigger ring have a diameter of around 4.5 kilometers and a circumference of around 15 kilometers (D*Pi), and the smaller ones around 3/10 kilometers. Now, based on the Akena being 10 studs long, 1 stud is 150 meters. The rings are around 2 studs thick, i.e. 300 m. This would mean that the area for the big ring is (2.25 km ^ 2 - (2.25 km - 0.3 km) ^ 2) * Pi = 3.96 km^2 (and 2.54 km^2 for the smaller ones). The rings are 3 and 2 studs high respectively, i.e. 0.45 and 0.3 km, which yields a volume of 1.78 and 0.76 km^3 respectively, resulting in a total volume of ~3.31 km^3 in the residential area. If we assume that we are pretty generous with the space, for being a space station, and that each inhabitant would have 80 m^3 each (40 m^2 * 2 m), including all other area required, this would result in the station being able to host 3.31 / (80 / 1000 000 000) = 41.375 million people. If we assume the extra space takes up about twice as much as we initially thought, we'd still be able to host around 20 million people on the space station. Pretty nice. 2. Why are there no visible guns? Well, first of all, the base hosts an enormous fleet, which could take over an entire world by itself, so it doesn't really need that many guns. Second of all, even the biggest guns we have seen so far in AG are around 30 meters long (in my Polar Base), which would only be a fifth of a stud, so guns aren't really visible on this scale. Third of all, what's up with that absurdly huge sensor array which kinda looks like a doomsday device and is only close to military facilities? Wait, why did I bring that up when we were talking about guns? Nevermind. More pictures/comments under the spoiler button!

Useless computer... Agent G, blast it! I can't - you didn't build any guns into the ship! Oh...well, I hope you can swim! Master Data, I hope you haven't left yet! The order just got cancelled! Something about causing stomach problems across the sector... So that's what it was...

The Akena is the flagship of a new series of dreadnought produced by the Kawashita Group for its naval fleet; created with the latest technology, these huge ships are armed with heavy missile batteries and laser cannons for point defense and protected by advanced energy shields, everything makes them a formidable opponents for any other battleship. In addition there are several embarked squadrons able to attack, escort or do reconnaissance in support of the mission. The Akena-class doesn't stop there, in a galaxy to be explored each vessel must be able to carry on colonization of new planets rich in resources and the Akena-class was created thinking about this too: they are able to carry troops, vehicles and prefabricated garrisons for the colonization of any planet, as well as have the right rooms for all of this, as secluded bays and laboratories. Ventral side So, here we are with my first LEGO ship! I'm really happy about the result so I hope you will like it! Enjoy!

Another week, another weekly build for the Andromeda's Gates RPG. And this week, I`m back to trying to build a decent spaceship... using Brick Separators! *** Start Log *** Junali 23rd, AD 3825 Thesseus B. Von Geekington reporting The Pale Lady has informed us that High Command wants us to go and travel to sector E-11, an asteroid belt known as The Fascini Cluster. Scans have revealed this belt to be rich in Awesomnium ore, and we are going that way in order to set up excavations. Using our deep space mining vessel, the Separator, we are arriving at the first rocks at this moment, and preparing to set up the mining gear. *** End Log *** So yes, we all are starting to collect a lot of those orange brick separators by now, as they come in about every Lego set of 50 EUR and above. So why I was collecting the latest `heap` of them last week from the workspace, I started thinking about how to use them for something more practical, like, as the core of a spaceship ;-) Hope you like it!

After filling the appropriate casualty report and seeking medical attention to my surviving Octancorp brand trooper, to whom I've bestowed the name Trooper 2, I was able to obtain several samples of the ubiquitous arachnoid creatures endemic to the planet. They are being analyzed as I speak in O.C.S. Axle's pristine labs. Naturally all paperwork related to such has already been filed. I'm not willing to risk any of my own tech specialists from the Axle on this. They're all doing Octan's good work, and I cannot spare one. I'm going to visit an old friend..." Later, aboard Dr. Martenz's research vessel on F09 Dr. Martenz: "Danielle, It's been too long. I trust you are here to inspect my pathogen research? I believe some of these specimens may be very promising to Biomass collection from this planet!" Dr. Long: "That is not why I am here today, Dr. Martenz." Dr. Martenz: "You did arrive before I expected you to... What can I do for you?" Dr. Long: "I need one of your new hirees for a top secret mission. According to his file, he is a robotics and technology expert. A certain Kodan Black." Dr. Martenz: "What?! Great Scott, Danielle! I'm hardly running with a skeleton crew here! There's so much to be done, and I have such little staff! I cannot afford to go without a single on! Not even a robotics specialist! Let me at least have an ensign from the Axle to carry out his duties in the interim?" Dr. Long: "This is not a negotiation, Dr. I will assess your shortage of staff on my routine inspection scheduled for two business days from today. You were certainly the right pick for this job." //"Status update: Tech retrieval success. Files on the genetic modification process have been procured. And, of course, Trooper 2 generously unwittingly volunteered to play host to a sample of the Kawashita super predator's genetic material. Location: F09 - Aruim Minor Tags: Vehicle, Spaceship, Exploration Nothing... Abundant Wastelands - 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr There is nothing here. So bleak. So empty. The corporation will be happy with it. Awesomnium is just oozing from every pore of this mountain. But it'll just be another miners town. Booming, busting, being left for dead. Abundant Wastelands - MAIN by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Getting back into the pilot seat is bitter sweet. After checking in with the new CEO on Kaalin (awesome name) it's been a long quiet couple of days getting over to Aruim Minor. The engineer I delivered equipment too was plenty chatty; so much so that it completely overwhelmed me and I'm afraid that I might have come off as rude to the humble man. Abundant Wastelands - SHIP TOP by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr All of these trips, they wear a man down. I thought contracting with Octan was going to be a welcome reprieve from the constant constraints of being a family man. No fires to put out every evening. No second job as soon as I get home. Octan... that would be the answer to all of my problems. A great paycheck. A happy wife at home with all the latest gadgets to keep the house clean, food cooked, and diapers changed. A quiet bunk at night to get some real rest. Abundant Wastelands - SHIP SIDE by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr That never happened. The peace, the rest, the security of it all. I traded the thing I love most for some thoughtless ambition for the future. I have to get them back. Surely there is somewhere in the new galaxy where he can be with my family. It will be tough. My career will take a hit. But this could be everything we've dreamed of. I WILL find that place. We WILL find our home. My purpose is renewed. My mission is clear. Abundant Wastelands - BASE by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr I am consumed.

Begin Log: Caught one of the scientists hacking into our top secret files. Can't let that information get out to any of the other corporations. The prisoner won't talk. Time to transfer him to Torresta for a "hot bath." My Intergalactic Speeder should do the trick. It's just big enough for the two of us and should supply enough oxygen for the interplanetary travel. The prisoner is secure. He'll be over within one cycle. We need to crack down on these rogues! End Log

*** Start Log *** Junali 4th, AD 3815 Thesseus B. Von Geekington, freighter captain of the Aian Sai reporting. Today, my trusty freighter of the `Liberty Rhino` class finally came out of drydock. Having signed up for the Kawashita Corporation, my first mission is to travel to the planet Greater Direstan, located at grid B08 on the NavSat system. My job there seems to be one of logistical support, doing what I do best. That being, hauling the minerals the corporation can dig up from the soils of this large dispository of a mineral called Awesomnium. So far, the journey has been tranquil, and I`ll be touching down any moment now. *** End Log *** Well, the build itself is a bit of a novelty for myself, as I never build spaceships in Microscale before. Quite a fun experience. I based the freighter Aian Sai (meaning `Iron Rhino` in Japanese) on a spaceship I spend a LOT of time with years ago... the Liberty Rhino Freighter from the Freelancer videogame. Hope you like it! (And I hope I did this right for posting)

One of the massive colony ships arrives at C09 - Orinshi. Arrival by EpsilonEta, on Flickr On board is a military operative only known as "Raven". She have been hired by Kawashita to handle security and escort explorers on new planets. Many speculate that an agent with here reputation is more likely to perform espionage and sabotage on rivaling companies. The Kawashita group deny any such accusations. Raven by EpsilonEta, on Flickr

There was plenty to see and do on Yallorn II. MANTIS assigned me two new interns this week so I let them do the exploration this week. The weather is too nice on Yallorn II. This week I will take a break from exploring and talk about my ship, The Stalker. The M087-Stalker was designed by M.A.T.I.S. for a special forces and spying role. Replacing speed and weapons systems for stealth and maneuverability. It has become a favorite among M.A.N.T.I.S. explorers. Originally the cargo area was used for a crew of two special forces explorers often use the space to carry all the equipment needed to set up camp. The VTOL abilities are another reason for its increased usage among M.A.N.T.I.S. explorers. When you are out exploring the wilderness it is nice to have the ability to safely land in a rugged area.

[K - E10] Polar Military Base on Traig IV This is my first microbuild ever, so all kinds of CC is approciated! I had a lot more fun building this than I had initially anticipated, doing things on a microscale forces one to think in very different way than one usually does. As usual, my projects tend to become bigger than I intend... this one clocks in at a little over 1200 pieces. For scale purposes, one tile (without stud) is around 2m high. (Also, I realized why rendering was so slow last week (custom radiosity), so this week you'll get a lot of renders (one high def, and a few a little lower def)!) --//Transmission Begin. Date: 1506(38)15. Scramble code: hhakKHI7924kja29jKllflhgm.//-- Due to reports of possible imminent direct contact with Octan, HQ decided we needed to set up a forward base on Traig IV. Its mountainous islands near the poles, which are covered with thick layers of ice and snow, provide excellent opportunities for building such bases, both thanks to the strong magnetic fields eminating from them, which interfere with enemy scanning equipment, the supply of fresh water from the snow, and the opportunity for our scientists to study the planets very interesting oceanic flora and fauna. The majority of the base is located underground, including a vast hangar which can hold up to 6 Alpha Class airships (one of them which is currently landing), 50 heavy bombers and a couple of hundred smaller fighter jets, plus several different ground vehicles, including variants of the ATC-76 (which can be seen approaching the base). Some parts are located on the surface however. The living arrangements for the troops and scientists, which consists of several self propelling modules, which land on each other to form a tower of sorts, is located above ground in order to minimize the space used (for harder visual/radiation tracking) and to facilitate rapid evacuation in case of an emergency. The research facilities require daylight for particular types of experiments, so part of it is above ground. The Awsomnium tanks were just delivered via orbital delivery ships, and will be hauled into the hangar as soon as possible. Two ATCs approaching the front gate. The base from above. Col. Location: The Fascini Cluster E11 Tags: Spaceship, Kawashita, Military, The Fascini Cluster, E11 :: Aera's Diary :: 06 Julali 3815 1304 hours I left Sorn with mixed feelings. Once the fighting had ended, I began to imagine myself settling down in such a place, the quiet beauty of the endless sea and sky soothing my soul. Perhaps someday. Instead, I was offered a promotion to the rank of commander and, along with that, orders to transfer from the Ryūjō to the Murasame. Being a pilot is my life. I accepted. It's quite a change moving from a flight leader on a light escort to commander on a heavy cruiser. I welcome the challenge - I only hope my team find another flight leader who will serve them well. Having said my goodbyes, I took my leave of Sorn and the Ryūjō and took a transport to The Fascini Cluster. The Murasame is currently in The Fascini Cluster in a reserve capacity. Helmed by the highly regarded Captain Quentin Voss, I imagine it won't remain there long as his skill will be desired on the front lines. My first order of business is to assess the Murasame's pilots and to assemble a new team. While I was offered many personnel files, I opted for something a little more hands on - live-fire flight drills within the asteroids of The Fascini Cluster. Nothing better to test the resolve and skill of the pilots than mock combat in an environment like that! For a little added fun, I'll join them. I chose the Shōkaku fighter for this task. I was even able to get one done up for me in my usual red! Perks of being the commander. It couldn't be better suited, given it's extreme mobility and highly accurate blaster. We'll of course hone the frequency such that it won't do much more damage than register the hit, but it will still be able to displace some rock. I'm curious to see who uses this to their advantage. :: Entry end :: :: Aera's Diary :: 05 Julali 3815 1309 hours Oh! I almost forgot! I have to remember to send that technician some Orinshian Tea! :: Entry end :: :: Aera's Diary :: 05 Julali 3815 1926 hours Well that was even more fun than I hoped! We have some good pilots on the Murasame, as expected. I scored more than a few hits and came away clean, so even though there's room for improvement, I can work with these pilots! In the coming days I'll choose my flight and make proper introductions, as well as share more about Captain Voss and the crew of the Murasame. I'll also tour the hanger deck and get a few close ups of the Shōkaku. Truly a fine plane and I haven't talked about it much here. I'll also tour the rest of the Murasame - there's much to see! For now, however, it's reports. Tons of reports - and it's getting late! :: Entry end ::
