Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yeah - I'm shocked and slightly concerned. I wonder how the acquisition will align with TLG's existing online PaB, which is much less varied in selection and considerably more expensive. If this leads to more (and more official LEGO-branded) AFOL Designer Program sets, that may be a bonus. But there seem to be several possible downsides.

I find Bob's death interesting from the standpoint of the penalty votes applied yesterday. There were three non-voters: Karen, Autumn, and Becky. Now one of them is gone! I found Becky's quietness yesterday suspicious and I was ready to press her on it today, but she's dead. Now Karen and Autumn are the ones with 5-vote targets on their backs. It's like we're in a big ducked-up Monty Hall problem. But first let's note that the knitting clubbers were probably careful enough to make sure to vote yesterday. If either Karen or Autumn is scum, why would the knitting club kill Bob? It turns up the heat on them because of the sheer number of votes. If neither Karen nor Autumn is scum, then turning the heat up on them while knocking off Becky seems like a good deal - two for the price of one, almost. But if neither Karen nor Autumn is scum, then we have to look for all the scum in the group of Kendall, Chelsea, Miranda and Robert. And then I don't know what to think. But it's something to keep my mind on as the day progresses. I'm not sure prima facie how Becky's death could implicate Candle Kendall? As Karen pointed, it's Day Two and we have one death, 5 voters from yesterday and 10 penalty votes to consider. And a partridge in a pear tree. We do have stuff to go on. Would you mind telling us whom you "compulsively visited" last night?

I don't read this as a joke and, as Miranda said, voting for a real person is never a joke. If I wanted to joke, I might say Vote: Jack Kerouac. But never for someone in this situation. I'm going to Vote: Becky Carroll (Bob) because she's been a little too quiet, especially seeing as she inserted herself into the discussion of Kendall's claim yet hasn't come back to discuss it further.
-
Yes, it is possible. But her role may also function as a "named townie" So Becky has a good point but you just don't know? But still something about Kentdale Kyndyle Kendall rubs you the wrong way? It seems like you're trying to have it both ways.
-
Let this not be construed as a defense of Kendal Kendyll Candel Kendall, but I think she is referring to a story that you wrote featuring a short-lived Vulcan. Per her claim she seems to be a compulsive Peeping Tom (or maybe she's a lying Jester) but claiming this early indicates she may worry there is a tracker or watcher in our milieu. But why would you a priori guess we have one of those if we are only eight to begin with?

UCS Mon Calamari Star Cruiser "CONFIDENCE" (MOC)
jimmynick replied to Kommander's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is really coming together - I like the inclusion of Technic panels in the black portion. I like the flex tubes and the purple engines, too. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing! -
I'm not sure I can keep up with all these names! And I'm not sure the baristas will be able to when we do our coffee run! All the cups will come out saying "Kenroll" or something and we'll have to resort to tasting the drinks to tell whose is whose. And my bouffant is secretly a toupee! Tee hee!

Gosh, admitting to being a pervert by way of introducing yourself to the book club! I suppose there is room in our tent for such people.... Fifty Shades and all. We must root out the knitting club, who sent a banana-suited figure to crois-ify our sant Brad with a stale pastry. And teach them how to bake better. I've got a book for that, you know.

Gosh, these are really flash with the pearl gold details. They're great builds, excellently presented too.

[MOC] Pink Floyd - Building All The Albums

I love all these builds - the cover for Dark Side of the Moon is particularly snazzy. Great to see your take on Battersea Power Station from the Animals cover, and I like the colourful sky behind it all. Which album is next? Piper?- 73 replies

1) I've played a few times and I promise I'll be good; 2) Currently on holiday but I'll be available to play from Monday the 23rd; 3) Awful thrillers from the likes of David Baldacci and Ted Bell.

So that they're ~exclusive~ and ~collectible~ when they're actually very boring figures nobody would otherwise take a second glance at. I actually think the details on this are great. I agree that the engines (particularly the cowlings) are a bit of a miss, but otherwise I think it's a massive step up from the 10030. Though I've said already, shame about the price.

I mean it looks nice, but $700 for <5k pieces is trying it on. It can't really be all that special, can it?

Do you "follow the instructions", build your own, or both?
jimmynick replied to hagridshut's topic in General LEGO Discussion
When I buy a set it is to be built, so I follow the instructions. If I want to build, then I buy parts, mostly from PaB but sometimes from Bricklink. -
"Hey dingus!" I love how you've captured the colour scheme, from the SNOT floor to the striped walls. The booths & lights are lovely as well. Great build and thanks for sharing!

Architecture had strange beginnings with the Sears Tower and John Hancock building sets, but came into its own with a range of high-quality products based on high-quality architecture, from Chicago to London to South Korea. Unfortunately, the recent focus on skyline sets has taken the focus away from the origins of the theme, but perhaps the new Empire State Building represents a return to form. 7/10 Next up: Homemaker

The artist Olafur Eliasson is currently staging a major exhibition at the state Modern in London, which charges a fee. However, his 2004 artwork The Cubic Structural Evolution Project is free to see in the turbine hall of said museum. The artwork consists of a cityscape constructed from one tonne of white LEGO bricks, and you can tear some down and rebuild the city in your own vision. More info here: https://www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/olafur-eliasson/olafur-eliasson-cubic-structural-evolution-project Unfortunately, I can't go. But hopefully some EB members can check it out and maybe report on the experience!
