When I buy a new LEGO set I almost always build some alternative structure with it. I've always enjoyed playing with a limited palette of bricks. It doubles the creativity. But I've almost never posted them here. Today I'd like to share a small vignette I created to flesh out storytime...Nothing impressive from a building perspective, but I intend to use it as an introduction and gradually populate and build the village. I don't really know if this topic is more suitable for the "Town" forum or the "Special Themes" one. I created it here because despite being related to the everyday life of a LEGO town, I thought it felt a little bit odd compared to the great buildings and vehicles that populate the "Town" forum. Don't hesitate to tell me if this was not the appropriate choice! Have you heard of Brickenthal? No? Well, hardly anyone has. It's one of those tiny villages nested in steep mountains, in the heart of dark forests, where time seems to stand still. The kind of village where travellers get lost at dusk only to learn that the only inn is full, and are advised by smiling villagers to request hospitality at that strange, gloomy castle up there. But our story is not about lost travellers meeting the welcoming Count of Brickenthal : it's about the villagers. About the peaceful, quiet life of the villagers. Miss Kafka was the village librarian. She took care of the books, helped readers choose their next bedtime reading, shooed away the spiders who tried to settle down on the shelves - all those activities librarians usually do. She was also the president of the Sonderthal Book Club, whose members gathered once a week to discuss their latest book crushes. On this lovely evening of october, a storm threatened and the rain was pouring. Principal Voigt, the school headmistress, had brought homemade cookies. Miss Grünhausen, the dressmaker, had brought an interesting yet uncooperative fantasy book. Everything was perfect for a cosy club session.

Pumpkin is significant symbol of Halloween. Combing Pumpkin and skeleton horse carriage will be excellent idea. The cabin of carriage is pumpkin shape with two eyes and nose on it. There are two doors can be opened. Three skeletons and one big boss, vampire included in this set. One skeleton will operate this carriage, two other guarding at the back. Four skeleton horses are pulling the carriage. Between those two at the front and two at the rear can be turned. The carriage front wheels can also be turned. The flexible setting can let you set the model in different position. I believe this model is definitely good for kids to play for long time, and a great decoration for Halloween. This model total pieces count is 355. I hope you will like and support this project. However, I never managed to finish that design and had to put this on the backburner indefinitely. And here we are, a whole four years (and an entire LEGO collection rebuilt from scratch) later. Hope you guys enjoy it and I look forward to showcasing some more MOCs on here! It's been years since I posted something here XD

Seen as the Winter Village goes in this forum, I figured a Halloween version would too! The Winter Village has had its train for a while, so I thought that now it's time for Autumn to have one. LEGO Halloween Village Train by inklingbricks, on Flickr Along with the locomotive (fully compatible with Power Functions), tender, and caBOOse, are five cars: - a Frankenstein Car, with SPINNING lightning rods to spark life into the monster on the slab. - a Man-Eating Plant Car, covered in vines and mushrooms with SNAPPING jaws as the train rattles along. - a Skeleton Stock Car, which two skeletal horses. - a Pumpkin Car, filled with varying sizes of pumpkins and watched over by a scarecrow. - a Toxic Tanker Car, with two SWIRLING cauldrons filled with acid. I had an idea for a while in my head, and used the opportunity to build this little scene for local LUG's competion (theme was Halloween). I haven't done a residential building in a while, and this was is basically just a front, but it kicked my imagination. As for the costumes, I used the scariest ones I found in my collection. Or should I say the most painful ones in the middle of the night? Same scene, but a different background without the lights. I experimented with the tree (trying out a different connections to make it more natural-shaped), SNOTed base, and mostly lights and camera settings. I really need to find a larger sized background so I can take pictures from different angles.

As soon as I first heard rumors and rumblings around the 2012 Monster Fighters line (on this very website, come to think of it), I knew I'd be hooked. Having grown up with the LEGO Studios Monster sets, these were very much my jam. It was like we were getting more detailed, updated settings and monster minifigures from that line, except it was real, instead of being confined to a movie set. So naturally, I ended up buying all of them (except for two sets) from this line, and still get them out every year before Halloween. That being said, I felt like this theme was ripe for expansion, especially after I purchased several spooky CMFs. So after a few Bricklink orders, I managed to add to the existing sets from this line-up, including my Witch's Grove MOC. With that being said... Wouldst thou like to live deliciously? The lead witch with her sssssssssplendid familiar: And kudos to LEGO for gifting us with this wonderful fig stirring the pot. Works great as a Renfield, Igor, or (for me) another witch! (Just keep that brain jar away from the zombies!) And while there's plenty I love in this MOC, the crystal ball with the leering skull gets me every time. Such a cool effect! Some more angles: Of course, not even witches can hide from the tenacious Monster Fighters! Which includes Frank Rock jamming out taking out one of the witches with...what else? A (holy?) water pack! Along with the adventurous Ann Lee fighting fire with silver stakes (at least now we know how she got that scar)! A few more angles on Frank's water pack. This is probably one of my favorite quick-builds I went through while building, as it fits the Monster Fighters having some thematically appropriate weapon for fighting witches. I tried to build them a vehicle, but, uh, let's just say it could use another go. Photos are on my Bricksafe folder, though I'll probably try and make something that looks meaner, and closer to some of City's Firefighter sets with a water-turret in the rear. In any case, hope you all like it! This build was actually an improvement on something I had tossed together years ago, taking the parts from the tree that made up LEGO Studios' Werewolf Ambush to make the archway, including the eyes. This is more naturalistic than that, but still has great atmosphere, I think, especially paired with the Monster Fighters' The Werewolf tree, making for a spooky forest setting. Hello everyone! This time I decided to come without trucks, supercars, and other wheeled vehicles. No, even without tanks or cranes In Russia, the traditions of celebrating Halloween are not well developed, but this does not interfere with the fun at all! This year I was unable to grow a beautiful orange pumpkin, so Lego came to my rescue! The pumpkin-mecha turned out to be a good decoration for the house, the guests were amused by its spider-like legs, and the absence of obvious signs of eyes and mouth made the imagination work hard while looking at the patterns from the panels that make up the body. This strange robot consists of 80 orange panels, weighs 378 grams, is 22 centimeters tall, and 15 centimeters in diameter. In general, the body of the "pumpkin" itself consists of 8 segments, exactly the same except for the inner part (8 ball-joint sockets for the feet did not fit inside one ring). It can be assembled quite simply from 4 parts (although the final connection may turn out to be somewhat tricky). The internal structure, consisting of three rings (one large and two identical smaller ones), allows all panels to be rigidly fixed and not to fall apart even when dropped from a low height. I am very happy that I managed to do without System parts, as well as without Bionicle elements. As a result, I can say that this is 100% Technic pumpkin I hope you enjoyed it, just in case I will leave the stud.io file if anyone wants to experiment with such cone-shaped structures. Based off Stephen Gofer's Jack and Sally MOC, figuring out how to build this behemoth was quite the challenge. In the end it just barely was taller than the new Haunted House. Using only the few pictures available, I had to guess how a lot of the house was constructed while making sure it was stable enough to live with my 2 younger daughters. I constructed the whole thing as 4 separate sections that all come apart and slide in together using a large technic axle. Hello, It´s been a while since I posted something... This is the statuette of Cthulhu from the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" from H.P.Lovecraft. It´s 20cm high just like in the story and it consists of 940 parts ...probably not just like in the story Happy Halloween!

I bought mine through a third party site like Bricklink or Ebay 15+ years ago. It came in a general ziplock bag big enough to hold the instructions, which were folded four ways. The paper feels a little heavier than standard computer paper and smoother, possibly printed on a computer from Legoland California but I cannot confirm that and it appears not many people have this (I'm the only one who marked it in my collection on Bricklink). The project is 2632 pieces. I paid particular attention to the structure of the walls and the harmony of the whole. I am very happy with the result, and I think this project will be the essential set for your collection. I believe it would be a great display piece. The house can be exhibited under 360°. The whole thing is quite large and the main base provides great construction stability. I provided great accessibility because everything is modular. I took a lot of care when designing the interior. Our witch will be able to cook, take care of animals, find new recipes to heal those who wish. Outside, the house is surrounded by a waterfall for fishing, a small pond to fetch fresh water. On the other side, a tree brings a little freshness and allows you to grow pumpkins. From time to time, and to be able to remain calm, our witch cuts a pumpkin to ward off curious people. Usually it is in autumn. Some say it is the origin of Halloween celebrations. You could as well integrate this set into your medieval dioramas, with the blacksmith, or your castle. It would also fit well in a Heroic fantasy diorama. More details & support

Halloween House on LEGO Ideas I am very excited to present this Halloween house. Although it is large, I tried to control the volume of pieces. There are 2700 pieces and the interior is fully decorated. I wanted architecture in the tradition of large Victorian houses, those that Stephen King describes so well in his novels. Haunted A-Frame Cabin While I'm looking forward to the see my A-Frame Cabin on the shelves of the LEGO stores worldwide as it has been chosen as one of the next LEGO IDEAS sets (I still can't believe it...), I built a spooky variation of the rustic house based on the 2012 LEGO Monster Fighters series. It is a kind of tribute to the MF Haunted House released in 2012 by TLG. Size and shape are basically the same as the A-Frame Cabin, colors, details, setting and Minifigures are completely different. If you take a deeper look, you can spot many references and Easter eggs directly related to the LEGO horror theme. The gramophone, the trunk with the top hat, the glass dome with a bone inside are all objects from the MF set. The gate is also a clear tribute to the Haunted House. And take a look at the zombie heads above the gate columns, do you remember where they were in the MF set? Last but not least don't miss the magic Bat Moonstone of Lord Vampyre, the villain of the series. Enjoy and happy Hall🎃ween! -
The Witchfinder: A Monster Fighters MOC

It's been a while since I've posted anything around these parts, but with Halloween fast approaching in the States, I thought I should take advantage of the season to post up another Monster Fighters MOC! Back in 2020, I had posted a little grove for some of the CMF witches LEGO's been putting out over the years. Overall it's a nice addition with the rest of the official Monster Fighters sets (which get a workout every time this year), although I hadn't quite nailed down a good-looking vehicle for the monster slayers two years ago, as you can see below: So after posting that, I got some good feedback, and took another swing at it in December of that year. Needless to say I finally got around to photographing it this summer, so without further ado, allow me to present... The Witchfinder! As you can see, I tried to make this match the approximate design of some of the other vehicles belonging to the Monster Fighters, with the trans-black windscreen, dark-bluish grey machine components and of course the dominant non-primary color scheme. I also made sure this truck looked like something that could clear away the thickest underbrush in the most haunted forest, hence all the spikes and saw bits on the front, in addition to the floodlights on top of the cab: As for the water turret in the rear, that can rotate a full 360 degrees and there is enough of a gap for the gunner to see where they're aiming, as Ann Lee can demonstrate: I also wanted to make sure there was enough clearance for a minifigure to operate the water cannon machinery in the rear, which also helps cover up the gear box part. And if the two Monster Fighters need to get out of their truck to finish the job, all they have to do is pull out the crate... And pop off the top! Then you can slot it right back into its original spot! Lastly, the cab roof does pop off, so you can throw in any other minifigure your heart desires (although Rodney Rathbone may need a different seat)! So there you have it! One gnarly monster-slaying truck to accompany the secluded wooded grove where all the witches gather. Overall I'm pretty happy with how it came together. Sure, the truck probably looks more contemporary than some of the other vehicles from that line, but seeing how The Zombies has a truck which looks pretty 20th Century, along with the hot rod in Vampyre Castle, I like to think this fits in rather well with the rest of the vehicles in their garage! It looks like there is a halloweeen-themed GWP! It will be available from Oct 14 to 31. it’s really interesting that it is a Creator 3-in-1 set. I wonder if it was suppsoed to be a retail set at first but they decided with GWP set instead?

Lego Halloween – Custom Minifigure Welcome, friends! My new Lego Custom Minifigure – Hallow, a Sealed Mystic from my Lego Custom Undead Universe. I would say it better suits for Lego Halloween Theme. Thanks to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego customs. Lego Halloween is certainly an interesting topic for lovers of tickling their nerves – inhabitants buried under gravestones, bats, ghosts and transparent cubes. And certainly an indispensable attribute of the holiday and traditional decoration is a pumpkin lamp. Let's say «thank you» to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego custom minifigures. The holiday is firmly associated with supernatural. Rituals, horror stories, legends about ancestors, children wearing role-playing costumes with pumpkin lamps, and certainly clubs and Halloween parties for adults)) Super Holiday! The roots of the holiday go back to the tradition of the ancient Celts of Ireland and Scotland which is interesting in itself.
