This is always a fun thread! Best Theme: last year I said Harry Potter and this year I still say Harry Potter; Best Minifigure: Demogorgon? Dress Robes Cedric? Zuckuss? Jack Skellington? Best Set: The Upside Down; Worst Theme: although I'm usually underwhelmed most by Architecture, I think the win this year goes to Ideas. Tree house? Flintstones? Central Perk? The only Ideas set that has remotely tickled my fancy this year is the Dinosaur Fossils one; Worst Minifigure: the Pizza Costume Guy CMF is pretty lame; Worst Set: the Shrimp Shack from Hidden Side. The other sets from the theme are lit though; Most Anticipated of 2020: probably the Tatooine wave from SW.

This is fabulous - not only does it match the original almost perfectly, it's beautifully constructed to boot. I think we're all suckers for brownstones with earth tones and dark green. I like the ground floor storefront - really fits in with the rest of the MOC. Nice job reproducing the windows on the facade too.

Thack Desteck [Mafia Game] Signups
jimmynick replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Nice to see @mostlytechnic back for this game! Looking forward to starting. -
This is wonderful and nostalgic. Great work. I agree with others such as Aine that the trees could look a little more shapely, but the leaf parts make really nice dense foliage. Good work and thanks for sharing!

Let me also share my condolences. Thanks for staying in the game, and I'm sorry you didn't have a partner. -

How about we run a meta Hinck mafia with anonymous characters, and everyone is a character Hinck has played in the past. -

Though I'm glad we came out of this with a town win, I can't help but feel sorry for fhomess. As Hinck said, it's not much of a club if there's only one scum. I have been incredibly paranoid for about a week and I'm happy this is over . And @Hinckley and @Trekkie99, this is why I said we had to focus on Autumn over Miranda: there was always a possibility there was only one scum, and you both seemed to lose sight of that. -
Awwww I love him. Adorable! Wonderful big ears.

It's got a bit of a Dutch feel to it, which is refreshing after so many American-influenced modulars. I think it looks great. The blue colour is lovely. I may actually purchase this one.

MAfia - Day 3 - You Can't do Anything
jimmynick replied to KotZ's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm just waiting for Autumn to make like a banana and split. She'd have had to know there was no investigator at all, considering Bob was a visitor too. -

Because I voted before KotZ said we could, I think it bears repeating that I Vote: Autumn (fhomess) -
MAfia - Day 3 - You Can't do Anything
jimmynick replied to KotZ's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Remember when Robert said "I did some research and it turns out there's a role called vigilante"? I asked him if he was implying something and he said nothing more about it. With the benefit of hindsight, that statement looks like a roleclaim. -

Thing is, you didn't think he was a knitter. Because you got investigated last night and you're scum. So we have to lynch you. I see it's been 24 hours, so I'll go first: Vote: Autumn (fhomess) I know, I know, it looks likely that Miranda is scum (or maybe Karen is???). But right now, factually, Autum is scum, and we have to vote in response to that knowledge. -

Losing two of us is a huge blow... I thought we were on the knitters' trail with Robert. Sorry daddy. Gotta figure out who the knitters are before they needle us in the backs. -
Who Remembers Pharaoh's Quest?
jimmynick replied to Max_Bricks's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I saw the title of this thread and thought "Pharaoh's Quest wasn't even that long ago" and then I got hit by a dose of reality. It was a nice theme and I'm glad to see there's a younger crowd feeling nostalgic for Pharaoh's Quest in the same way people my age are nostalgic about Johnny Thunder. -
Will Hidden Side Age Well?
jimmynick replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
LEGO has been "desperate and in not very good shape" for about twenty years! I think the theme's sets are fairly solid. Don't care about the app. I think the greatest weakness is the timing of the marketing since the theme had been on the horizon for a long time and when it suddenly arrived, from my perspective it looked like there wasn't much fanfare at all. -
Hold up. In context with the rest of the paragraph, this looks like a dead cat thrown on the table. Are you trying to insinuate something? Why would you throw spaghetti and see what sticks unless you're trying to justify your own actions, looking at them from a townie perspective? Really? I thought we arranged ourselves in an ellipse! No need to make it kinky like that, he's just my daddy. You missed a few flavours there

I'm going with my feeling that Robert only tried to pretend to be suspicious of Cranberry Kendall yesterday. Autumn, too, makes a good point that Robert's vote against Krystal Kendall was meant as a vote against a useless townie, while hoping to lean on the results of her visit last night. I also still believe that his interpretation of Bob's death is not very plausible, so let's Vote: Robert (jackjonespaw) He's been in and out of the thread but not posting. I do hope he comes back soon so we can hear what he says in response to both me and Autumn.
-
You're quite right; I misremembered what you wrote earlier:
-
7 and 4, surely? So is it fair to say that something about Ken Burns Kendall's actions "just rub [you] the wrong way"? Personally, the news that Karen instructed Kelly Ripa Kendall to visit her, and the latter claiming to be did, makes her somewhat trustworthy to me (though, of course, there seems to be no outwardly-visible objective result to her action, unlike the case of Bob's death). If Karen and/or Autumn are Knitting Clubbers, then why would one or other of them choose to kill Becky rather than someone else?
-
Wow! So detailed - love the red and white accents!

One doesn't need to write an essay to explain that fishing for night actions smells fishy and I wanted to call it out in the moment.
-
Well I was thinking that if you're up to no good, the longer you have to coordinate a story, the better. This happened once on a pirate ship and I had hoped to head off that possibility in future. And since Crandall Kendall claimed to be a peeping tom sort of thing, I thought it would be better to hear it sooner. Seeing as I don't exactly trust her.
