  1. Hi nicjasno I'm sure they were around at some point. But you're right, for now stickers could be the best option. H
  2. I'm tempted to buy one also as I can't buy a big set until birthday or christmas. I've been admiring it from a far. might take a closer look in the lego store. Good review. H
  3. A small flat plate with TECHNIC on it would be great to have if they are available. I would love to get my hands on some if they exist. Can anyone help? H
  4. I like the exposed engine myself. Could you perhaps change the roof, everything above the doors, to maybe red. And use some curvy panels for the hood. Add a licence plate too if you can. H
  5. Nice model. I love the chassis and it's a good size with a technic figure. I would have liked to see a proper diff though. That suspension is good. H
  6. Hi, How big is your truck going to be? Sounds like it's going to be a large one. Are we talking about unimog size? H
  7. I love it. it has a futuristic look about it. Interesting front end. Where are the wheels from? H
  8. What wheels are you using? I need some. H
  9. Hi, I wonder if the other battery boxes might suit this better. There's the rechargable 8878 and 88000. 8881 battery boxes are heavy when full with batteries. http://powerfunction...ault.aspx#88000 Great work by the way. I'm sure you will get there. H
  10. Maybe your profile pic is too large. H You can see some suspension on these brickshelf images from a fellow member on this forum. This is my favourite Trophy Truck model. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=523538 H
  11. Nice modification. For me, as long as it can lift and carry lego beams etc it's fine. Nice trailer. H
  12. Try this A grill and maybe a few curvy panels on the doors. But it does look great so far. Let us see it again once you make any changes H
  13. The fibre board stuff would do it. What about foam or the packaging stuff? Anyone remember paper mache? you could make any shape you want with that if I remember correctly. A course is a very good idea. I was thinking about a course, or some sort of challenge, for the normal road mocs we see. Maybe some reverse parking challenges for the trucks and cars, the spaces would vary depending on the size of the vehicle. ie: if a vehicle was ten studs wide you would set it a challenge to turn through a gap of maybe fourteen studs. Do you get my drift? H
  14. Hi, Why not build something similar to 8081 and turn it into a crawler? For your chassis I would try a shorter wheel base. Keep us updated with your progress. H PS: I just looked at your photostream. Excellent work.
  15. Hi, I like it but I think it needs more stability and maybe some outriggers. The technic figure looks a bit worried when you drive it in it's elevated position. H
  16. I did not realise 8880 was such a good set. I was too busy working overtime when 8880 came out. I like the idea of modernising something. For example I would add retractable ski's, drop down headlights that reveal machine guns and a revolving licence plate. Maybe someone could James Bond it. I might rebuild my 8865 test car and James Bond it if I can find the instruction book. H
  17. Hi, Wikipedia says they are usually only two wheel drive which surprises me. Looking at some of the images via google i'm only seeing two wheel drive. When I complete my little rally car I will do a trophy truck also. I look forward to seeing the completed model. H
  18. Hello one and all, I would say that where lego lacks in realistic functions it more than makes up for it in allowing creativity in finding new solutions. That's the beauty of it and a big part of it's appeal (i'm talking about technic lego here). I remember many moons ago, (this relates to town lego) I was frustrated because I did not have steering for my town van so I came up with a steering mechanism with the assistance of a biro pen. Having seen the many creations posted on this website i'm always amazed, but not surprised, that my fellow builders find solutions for steering, suspension, lifting, opening, closing and extending. All these solutions can easily be created in the "real world". In lego world we have to work within it's limits and that's what drives creativity. Let's remain in the real world for a moment, many moons ago materials were limited which led to people creating new materials. Of course, the argument about lego being a toy etc etc is also true. H
  19. Great little vehicle. Reminds me of a VW Beetle. Good picture too. Thanks H
  20. I got my very first lego set (see link) back in 1978/79, I was about seven and had discovered lego at primary school. They had a play room. That and my matchbox cars kept me occupied for many years, then another set three years later (rocket launch pad I think) followed by another set a few years later and that was it as we could never afford much but I was hooked and made whatever I could with what I had. First technic set in 1990, the big technic car. Later I started working fulltime and studying so did very little lego. Once the studying stopped I started buying bionicles, got a battle droid 8001, technic ideas book 8891, technic guys in packs of three and some other sets. i've never actually stopped but became distracted by other work and lego became less. What brought me back fully was a challenge to build something I was showing someone else online. That led me to this forum and here I am. Lego is now my official hobby and it will remain so until the end. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Horse H
  21. I've nearly completed an adapted version of the Little Rally Car. See the teaser image at the link below and let me know your thoughts. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lakop/9602477620/ H
  22. I use both my bed and any remaining space on my desk. I would show you a picture but my desk is covered in tesco receipts and my bed is a mess. Lego is stored under the bed in storage boxes. I will post a pic soon though. If I ever make my fortune I will have a dedicated "play" room. H
  23. That's a great truck. I saw one similar recently, it was a container trailer with a warning that it had a steering rear axle. I will do something with rear axle steering soon. Thanks for posting H
