  1. Excellent model!. It addresses something else on the forum about lego being reliant on PF (is lego too reliant on PF?). This sort of model is exactly what we were discussing. It does not need PF to be playable. I know you have a motor but it does not require one. That's a great model with some good adaptions and I love the bucket. a good design. H
  2. I see the point that a set should not require power functions to make it playable. That's something that put me off other toys as a child. I like something that is playable straight away. With lego technic we get the best of both worlds I think. But I agree also with the suggestions of big models that will not require PF to be playable. I'm a fan of remote control but it can make it expensive (I could never afford them as a child) and therefore difficult for the younger lego fans. H
  3. Yep. They are out of stock. They've just been too lazy to update their website. I've heard of this sort of thing before with them. Anyway, the excavator is in stock at £49 (£38 at amazon) and the rescue helicopter also at £49. Hurry up payday. H
  4. You should organise a race. That's another model for my list. Great work by both of you. H
  5. Hi, Argos (UK) are doing the Technic Supercar at £47 and some pence if any one is interested. Happy building H
  6. I love that truck! That's the sort of RC model I would like to make (haven't even made one yet despite getting my RC bits in april). I think I would need the servo motor for steering. One of those buggy motors would be good too. great job! H PDF instructions would be nice. Or am I asking too much. Happy building. H
  7. I agree with most of the other replies. The lego crane is about the right size and in keeping with the other models, they have to think of cost too. This moc is fantastic all the same. I love the crane boom. That is a work of genuis and it looks really meaty and powerfull with the eight linear actuators and the motors that power them. I'm working on a american style truck at the moment. H
  8. Hi, I don't see why you can't make a technic building/house. I mean, the technic men must live somewhere. Go for it and let us know how you get on. H
  9. That's fantastic. I want to make one with room for a technic figure. H
  10. That's interesting to hear. I suppose with millions of parts going out all over the world it can't be easy for the machines to check everything is in place. You can't beat the human eye. Having built the set with no stickers I have, however, some extra parts including three connector pegs, a small axle, two axle bush/stops. Those parts are more use to me than stickers. So, has anyone ever got any major extra parts with a set. H
  11. Missing blades on a helicopter set is quite serious. It's like having the crawler with no wheels. H
  12. Very nice. I will take a closer look via the link. H
  13. Evening all, I promised myself over the weekend that if I was brave and attended an all day departmental meeting, without wanting to scream, I would go to the lego store after. I survived the day and off I went. I bought the small hovercraft set, 42002, just completed it and I have to say it's a nice little set with some interesting parts. But imagine my shock to discover no stickers are included. I've never known a set to have something missing, if anything I always find a few extra small parts. i've reported it to lego. Anyone ever had any serious parts missing from set? H
  14. brilliant! i've seen something like that before. I'm into sci-fi type vehicles myself. H
  15. I like it. Try adding a spring to that front bar for front end bumps. H
  16. I recently bought a brick seperator for £1. Does that count? it's proving to be a very useful tool to have. H
  17. Probably tried to include an image. H
  18. Fantastic! That looks really dangerous. I look forward to the video. H
  19. Hi, not been on for a while as i've been unwell. So i'm catching up. I only have on display my Star Wars Battle Droid, set 8001, that's been on display since I bought it when it came out, my lego Fireman torch and a robotic figure I made myself out of non technic parts. I tend to build my own models and display them for a while before moving on to something else. H
  20. Hi, I loved that set as a child. I never got any of them but I always admired them. I loved the way the ships opened up at the back. In time I hope to make a technic version. It takes me back. H I remember now. I had the rocket launch pad set, must have been early eighties. H
  21. Have you thought about a seperate battery pack. Maybe using a 9V battery. I do wonder sometimes why lego don't make a 9V battery pack. it would be so much more compact. I suppose for showcase and display purposes it's worth investing in lots of batteries. I look forward to your videos. H
