  1. what a nice way to entertain a two year old. That copter is nice and colourful. I too use lego to entertain the smallest/youngest members of our family. great work. H
  2. As much as I want 8258 at the same time I don't want it re-released if it wil hurt lego. They need to keep us hungry and by discontinuing sets and introducing new they do exactly that (keep us hungry). I'm also desperate for red panels (as in 8258) so hope they come back in a new set. H
  3. Looking good. The wheels on the truck don't look right to me. Where are they from? H
  4. With the older pnuematics you could fix those to your chassis no problem as the base could fit to a studded plate. i've just been looking at drill rig vehicles in google images and I will suggest you convert to outriggers. I'm sure you can come up with a design to fit your truck. There are many ideas out there. It's a great moc and true to the real truck. It would be a shame not to finalise it. I agree with others that TLG should consider something like this for s future set. Let us see the completed moc. H
  5. Nice truck and an original idea. I'm sure you can solve those minor issues. H
  6. Wow. Great crane, I like the boom arm and extension. you could cover up the rear of the boom a bit but overall it's fab. H
  7. I bought 9384 a few months ago and it's a very good set. Much better than it looks and it has some interesting functions. The B model is very nice too. H
  8. Nice one and not boring at all. It's always good to see what others can do. The rear is very interesting. H
  9. I'm a part collector but mostly builder. I've just bought 42011 for the pull back motor and the small wheels for my triple build idea. No matter the set there will always be parts I can use. On display I have my battle droid bought when it came out in the nineties, a bionicle, a lego fireman torch, a knight and a few special minifigs. All sets are quickly dismantled and the parts used for experimenting. If I could afford two of every set and had the space that would be a different matter. H
  10. It's a great truck, so it's a good start. Loking at the motor set up I did not think it would work. It needs a crawler style motor set up I guess and maybe take some weight off it. H
  11. That's great. Good work. H
  12. another reason to buy it 42000. I've seen a few lower priced one's available. Am considering it now. PS: just got back from the lego store with a pull back car 42011 H
  13. That is frighteningly stunning. Great work and excellent detailed pictures. Thanks for posting it and welcome to the forums. H
  14. Mild soapy water (washing liquid) let them soak then lay them out and dry with kitchen paper. Wash as and when required. I give some parts a good wipe with a soapy cloth when required. H
  15. Thanks for sharing your model with us and your instructions. Your truck is great, a model team set. H
  16. Wrong battery pack maybe. It looks like an old one. H
  17. Yes. That part count is important. Keep at it. H
  18. I had it in my mind to build a skip truck. It looks good, the blue parts are very welcome, but I would need to see more detailed images (and what other sets come out) before I could decide to buy or not. That looks good for a first set for someone. I guess a mix of simple and more complex sets. I love lego no matter how simple. H
  19. I don't see a problem with scale but I get your point...a bit. Town/city, castle lego is a like a fictional city and the buildings vehicles and mini figs are to the same scale, as a real city. Technic is, as previous posters have said, about functions, playability and probably size. In the nineties there were sets with technic men, I think they (lego) were maybe trying to create a technic city thing as a lot of the sets had technic men and were the same scale. Scale of models is done also to catch the eye and maybe add a WOW factor. I was in a comic shop last week and they had a four foot batman figure for sale, i've also seen a two foot Ironman and my nephew has about 10 spiderman figues of different sizes and manages to have adventures with all. When I read some of the posts here I sense a wow factor about the upcoming sets and parts that will be available and the difference in scale of tyres etc allows our fellow builders to treat us to some great ideas. H
  20. Would it be bluetooth? or is that for moving files only? if the NXT supports wi fi for control then it should work, maybe the bit in the middle (router) needs a setting on it altering. Good luck with it and let us know. H
  21. What I would do to get a job in anything lego. I can only imagine the perks might be. At a guess they might get information on upcoming sets but I would love to know. H
  22. That's a good start. Trim the piece count down and you will be well on your way. Thanks for sharing. H
